As mentioned before. Start the wrap from the rear to prevent the edges from fraying. Also soak the wrap prior to applying. After it dries the is a clear coat for header wrap that hardens and protects the wrap. Keeping the heat in should improve performance a tad bit.

brother this is amazing work just like your other xr250 vids but I feel like I have to say it ...please protect yourself from some of these particles and chemicals. They aren‘t good for your health ole top

Great job man. I find it easier to soak the fiber wrap in water before hand; when it evaporates it causes the wrap it shrink up a little tighter on the header.

That's a great idea. It also cuts down on fiberglass dust

@@WeekendAdventureRides Yes sir, also when I do mine I wrap starting from the exhaust and work my way towards the two exhaust ports; when you see the wrap pattern you'll see the aerodynamics I'm talking about. Great video and I love the clean edits though!👏👌

Anyone have an header pipe for an 85 xr250r for sale? All ones ive found r beat to shit, and the one that is on the bike looks like a 4 yr old welded 5 diff pieces of pipe together.

Ebay, your best bet. I don't think there's anything in the aftermarket

I did all the Gordon Mods on My 99 XR 250 and Lexx Exhaust, It was reliable but never had much more than 20 HP.

remember to wrap the opposite way, all of the flaps will catch wind and make it floppy quick.

I soak my wrap in water before wrapping it makes it easier to use.

does que fiber glass tape has to be wetted or dip in water before applying it to wrap the exhaust ?. i have heard that it help to tighten the tape. it will dry and maybe help to cure when the tape its heated.

Yes it helps to wet the fiberglass before you wrap it, also cuts down on fiberglass particles.
