@@dirttrackdevil1149 cool, i grew up around short track and dirt racing in ga. My dad raced for years, its in my blood but i never raced couldnt find the money .
I quit steelheads in 09, cost big factor, but i miss racing, but with what's going on at 311, ararat not running, crates top class at most tracks, expence of travling to run the carolina clash or blue ridge outlaws... i cant afford it no more. I guess i could run owm at elkin or wythe.
Yeah we quit with the Steelheads back in 09 too we ran at atomic til it closed then went to 411 motor speedway I wanna get back into racing I prefer a late model you know anything bout the cost of the sportsman late models they're supposed to be cheaper than a crate cause of the shock rules and harder compound tires I don't make 150k a year I just wanna get behind the wheel of one a couple times a season and have some fun you can't make more than you spend on the car around here anyways so why try to be competitive anyways
I run a 602 in my late model little over 900 hp,what are y'all running? That motor sounds great and that throttle response is excellent I have changed my carburator and fuel pump and lines and still have a slight hesitation I can't get rid of
@@codyyellott117 I wanna get some info on the sportsman class it's supposed to be cheaper than the crates cause of the shock rules and tire compounds we got outta Steelheads back in 09 it got way too expensive im just itching to get in the cockpit but Im not a millionaire
actually there will be holes in that cover - its not a solid piece at all, just a metal cover with multiple holes and a fabric covering to avoid dirt going in. not designed for racing as it will not have a filter - but good enough for test and tune purposes in your garage at home. An engine of that size MUST have a reasonable flow of air or not only will it not rev - it will not idle properly and it was not only revving but idling nicely in the video.
tight lash cam, 4/7 swap firing order, and carb. I had a tight lash cam in 2 diff motors. 1 was stock n the other was lightweight rotating assembly and I could tell any diff. both had crazy fast throttle response!
Not sure what they are running but I run a 602 cid in NY late model, makes a little over 900 HP I run circle track cam Holley dirt carbs scat cranks and Weiss Pistons msd electronics
@@ryan14r95 lol try 300 I think the 604s have bout 350 or so lol don't even bother with them the crate class don't save money the purse stays the same and there's always some dickweed that figures out how to break a seal and reattach so they're out lapping everyone 3 weeks in a row and all that gets checked is their damn tires atleast where I'm at anyways to lax on the rules
And that's the reason my neighborhood hates me because Saturday is race day and I open the barn doors and roll out my 1000 HP late model and make sure everything is turned up,dirt racing is the only real racing, soon as NASCAR starts going 3 or 4 wide into the turns sideways with the left front wheel off the ground il get interested in asphalt racing,in order to fully appreciate the power these late models have you have to drive one or go for a ride along in one I've raced just about every division, and decided to stick with late models they look good, sound good and they are More fun than a big tittied girl riding a unicorn
never once said that it prevents watching? i just made an observation and stated it in my comment? and also, it says in "modified car". That just comes across as a modified, not a modified engine ya know? haha not trying to bust your balls on your video. just made one simple comment about the description that was a little confusing! so you can take your boxing gloves off big shooter
