For someone as accomplished as Larry, he isn’t too good to get his hands dirty for a task like this. Kudos to him for staying down to earth even with the unparalleled success.
That's what I love about Larry. He could easily be sitting behind the scenes running his business from a computer- collecting profits and not lifting a finger. It's probably what myself and many others would end up doing in a position like that. Instead, he actually does stuff like this. I can tell he genuinely enjoys detailing cars- everything from an old POS van to half-million dollar exotics. It's why I buy his products. I've followed his brand since the beginning and watched his content get better and better, and now with the new garage it's amazing.
@@seanbond1008 and better yet, he’s not there endlessly pushing his products, he’s genuinely sharing his techniques. And yea, from detailing an F1 car and a McLaren F1 GTR to van filled with stuff, I don’t know if anyone would do work in such wide spectrum lol.
@@seanbond1008 He could, but what would the fun be on that? I run my own small company, by far not as successful as Larry, and I also had the opportunity to just hire people to do the work for me. Nah, money is an important part of running your business, but if you are passionate and enthusiastic about what you do, you always want to be part of the action. You can really see how Larry enjoys being there in his dream workshop detailing.
Should have switched the passenger seat to the drivers’ seat, since you did not fix the cushion or leather. Why be a cheap skate? Fix all the dents and do something about the corrosion, open up the back and install some seats in the back, turn it into an SUV.... för 1 sekund sedan
This just makes me feel bad for ones who, at the twilight of their lives, don’t have family and friends to help them help themselves. Thank you for helping Ollie be more than he could ever be by himself.
Larry, you managed to help Olie while still maintaining his dignity. Very well thought out approach to telling this story, and it's only magnified my respect for you.
I was thinking how this could be said after watching this video. Heart warming at how Larry/AMMO was able to maintain Olie's dignity and promote his AMMO product/YT channel/job. This was great.
Thanks for this, Larry. None of us needed more proof that you’re just a good man, but to remind us to take advantage of the time we have left with our elders was really the best part of this. You’re a great example of goodness to the rest of us who love and respect you. Thank you.
What you guys did was really amazing. Elders so often are shunned, especially for having a “dirty hoarder van”. Most people don’t look beyond the first layer to understand the real story. Thank you for helping out Olly, that was really sweet, genuine, and inspiring!
Only mistake is that the brass chandelier should have been installed to replace the interior light. Pimp my ride for him! Seriously awesome video for helping him out!
I always felt that you were a very nice and kind person. This episode proved my feelings right. You were so respectful to his collection. You didn’t shame him or talk down/bad about the state of his van. You were the perfect man for the job. Thank you for showing people how to treat one another.
Its so heartwarming you took the time to listen to Olie tell stories about his collection of things!! Seeing him laugh & smile without feeling any other way but happy is so amazing! You did that for him!! You were truly a blessing. Thank you !!!
@@kalijasin Very true! He had awesome stuff! I need to look up that bowling game! Lol. They didn’t find any dead cats in their either, so this dude is legit. Lol.
Honestly I wouldn’t clash him into the hoarder category considering most of the stuff in there was pretty badass stuff, I’d just say overzealous collector
*I know this is a few weeks late and no one will see it but I jut wanted to say that this was such a heart warming story that restores my faith in humanity for a few minutes until some A hole ruins it. Thanks Larry for being apart of this and sharing it with the rest of us!*
A lathe? His mpg is going to triple. What a great job. He looked thrilled. I can imagine how terrible it felt to drive around in that. Totally overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. Looks like you guys have him the best starting point he could ask for. Hopefully he's got help for the rest of this journey. Loved this vid.
That's an awesome thing you did! Based on my experience with people Ollie's age, you should put him on a quarterly rotation and get him in to repeat the process! They can't help it. They don't see it happening until it's too late.
thank you for the message at the end about taking care of elderly people and appreciating their amazing lives and the stories they have to tell, this pandemic has really brought out the worst in some people and now more than ever is such an important time to take care of the elderly and vulnerable in society, youthfulness doesn't last forever, one day all of us are going to need help and support
my grandpa (my moms father) built his own house and workshop so that alone has a ton of great stories and when i was younger i used to love listening to tons of stories when i visited. i still love his stories i just cant visit anymore
"Holy Christ!" sounds just like something my dad would say. He'd be 78 this year. Glad you got to have fun with an older neighbor and hear some good stories.
This makes me miss my grandparents so much. I did ask a lot of questions growing up but you always wonder if there was something else you could have talked about, especially as their time was coming. Your videos are really inspiring. The cars have history, but it's when you still have the people who can tell you the history first hand like Ollie, that is really the most rewarding part. Thank you for sharing!
This was SO far away from anything one would expect from a top Tier Detailing, Bodywork, cleanliness Workshop... You went off the beaten path. May your actions help this Gentleman see a brighter and ligher future. Well done. Applause. Thank you.
3:56 no way! I have that same picture. Larry it is amazing what you do for people. You have no idea what it means to us to see good people doing good things for awesome guys.
Hey Larry, thank you on the behalf of world. You make it a better place, instead of putting those words in the motto as corporations like to do. Cheers from Poland.
In the UK that van Would have been off the road a long time ago,MOT failure at it best and if the police had pulled it over he would have ended up in court
Man Larry, great work giving a hand up to a guy who has some serious stuff!! I bet he was stoked to see the hidden treasures long forgotten in the midst of all that stuff. Great inspiration, our nation as a whole needs to get back to this, helping our neighbors, and loving one another.
Larry seems like the most down to earth, genuine bloke. He always goes above and beyond for every customer, and shows interest in the people and stories behind it all. I’d love to meet him one day 👍
My grandma was born in 1900. The stories she told us were amazing! She was a living version of almost every history class took in school! The stories about her everyday life through the years were even more fascinating. While doing laundry shed talk about helping her mom with laundry & compare how the task had changed since then. Whilecooking or baking she’d talk about what kind of advances she had seen arrive & we're now commonplace. Grocery shopping brought up stories about making butter, butchering, hunting, “making garden,” planting & harvesting part on the 150 acre farm she grew up on, going to buy textiles & things that couldn't be made on their own. It was amazing! Even my dad (now 81 & also a farm kid) Tells my kids about when his family finally got to use something other than the outhouse! I’m 51 and my kids can’t believe I actually lived before video games, cellphones, computers, & remember getting our first color TV (I finally understood why Mr. Green Jeans had that name!😂)
Larry, Whenever a video comes out of yours I cant wait to watch it. You are an inspiration to many. Love these types of videos. Thanks for everything you do!!
Great stuff Larry. Giving back to the community. Really sends a great message to everyone that small acts of kindness is what makes us human. Love the channel.
Guys absolutely awesome!!!!! Ollie at 85yrs young, we need to listen more to our senior citizens as they have a wealth of knowledge and experience that, most of us will never ever have 🚒👍
You guys are so awesome, that was the sweetest video. Glad you are friends with Ollie. There is an elderly gentleman at my gym, he is about 85 and lives in a van that looks just like this. I gave him a bunch of gift cards at Christmas as I wasn't sure how well he was eating or dealing with life living in a van.
True, but it doesn't take two experienced detailers long to do that, especially when they aren't truly doing any paint correction. I still laughed that he said that, though.
What Larry said about grandparents and the older generation is very true. I have always desired to build a close connection with my grandparents. But by time I was old enough to be realize this, I only had one grandparent left. I desired so badly to get some amazing stories out of him. Unfortunately he had dementia and lost his ability to form complete sentences. I never got to hear any stories from him, but at least I showed him my love before he left.
Haven't seen a TARDIS van before. First time for everything. Olie sure does have some treasures in there. Real glad you were able to help him out! You all did an awesome job. 👍
This was an awesome video. I was able to watch it with my 4 year old and help him learn about how God wants us do good for others in the world. Larry you're a good man
The best take away from this job was not to clean and organize the van itself, but the years worth of memories and history of Mr. Olie. A detail to remember. You could spend some time with him, in an adopt-a-grandpa kind of thing... that'll make his last years very happy.
Larry, you’ve told some amazing stories on this channel - but this is one of the greatest. Warm fuzzy feeling all over. I hope Ollie is still doing well.
That was Great! in Canada here we have our own Bernie Madeoff and my best friend was one, he stole my life savings and now I receive a gov pension of $1250 per month, I used to be a multi millionaire, 16 to be exact. I am approaching 70 and after watching this video I am going to keep my Van spotless as I am soon going to have to live in it, its a wonderful van though a 2014 Sprinter 2500 170 with modest diy conversion, basic and simple but I can sleep in it with my dog, You are very kind to help this gentleman, you are restoring my faith in kids of today, and yes we old boys have tons of stories, I do for sure, I have been super motivated after watching your videos thank you once again from the West coast Canada eh! You're a god kid!
Larry, you are a brilliantly intelligent and deeply compassionate human being, a combination that makes you and your vids irresistible. Instead of (as others might) taking easy pot shots or going for the side-eye wry, amusing put down comment, you embrace people’s humanity & life-induced foibles, and respond to them with respect, empathy, tenderness, and generosity in the context of your extraordinary expertise. What kind of healing global political environment would we all enjoy if world leaders did the same?!?!!! THANK YOU for being such a wonderful humanitarian and ingenious geek of the highest order in your field- your brains and heart are unmatched! Many blessings to you and your family 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
I realized about halfway through that part of this is just a big ad for AmmoNYC products. And you know what? Its a good ad. It's wholesome, it accomplishes something (something good to boot), the product seemed to work well, and it's engaging. Frankly, I'm sold. When I get a garage to clean my car in, I will be purchasing these products.
Finally...a video about cleaning a Chevy Express van. I owned a 2005 V6 model and I love how reliable it’s carrying heavy objects without breaking a sweat. Great Video, Larry.
I know he looks more like he’s 63 or something, he seems pretty with it too which is more than I can say for my great grandpa who sadly isn’t all there anymore. He’s 91
I heard you tell this story on TST. I also heard your heart for this guy when you told it. This was awesome. Thanks for being a light and doing some good. 👍🏻
Fantastic work Larry, wonderful gesture! 😊 It was just so nicely and heartwarmingly presented... You are showing a true example for the people. 🤩 It is very-very nice to see you grow and becoming LARRY KOSILLA - THE DETAILING SUPERSTAR 🤩 Wishing you all the very-very best from my heart, just keep thriving! 😊
What a lovely natured man, he deserved that help. It's too true about what you said Larry in terms of being told stories by your grandparents whilst you still can. My dad used to tell me to sit down and listen to his dad and it seemed boring at the time but now I know it was time very well spent. P.S. Great job on the van, the van is almost the second part of the story here!
You guys do really important work, and never brag about it. It's rare to find those that genuinely try to give back without making themselves looks like paragons of virtue and morals.
at his age man and also considering he has a mind of an engineer (they tend to keep the stuff they find interesting or smartly designed), I am not surprised at the condition of the van, tbh I was excited to see what he had collected through the years of his life
I used to detail at a really high volume shop that cleaned a lot of fleet vehicles. We would do pretty much this same thing. The vans never had anything as cool as this one did though!
I like the fact that even though you're pretty much at the top of your game, you still take time to help others in need. I like the the fact that you treated the vehicule as a work horse and made it back to safe and clean condition without over exaggerating as you could have easily pushed tons on Ammo products on this one. It's easy to see that it was a genuine act as you treated his stuff with respect and care. Olie seems to be a nice gentleman, I really hope someone will help him out with new cargo doors, passenger door, passenger side front fender, driver side mirror, and driver seat, as these items seems to be pretty beaten up/rusted out (and I'm sure, lots of USA junk yards would have piles of these in stock), and with a service job on his truck as it probably needs one as I doubt this van could be serviced being full as hell. I enjoy this kind of videos as much as the older and rare cars and way more than the supercar ones (even I also like them a lot). Keep up the good work Larry and thanks!
That's just lazy. You can't be so busy as to not be able to spare 5 to 10 minutes once or twice a month to at least drive through the automatic car wash.
@@gloucesterdavid Normally I don't even approach people in a parking lot, but it was green mold on a relatively new truck. Somebody had written wash me on the side of the truck, that's what caught my attention.
As much as I love the transformations you do on the classics or the exotics, this by far has been my favorite. Our elders are such treasures. Thank you for taking such good care. ❤
Well Larry, this is one you can feel positive about and glad you shared this with all. Plus you made the street a bit safer for those around his van on the road and parking it!
This is why I rock the ammo sticker on my car. Thanks for being so generous and wonderful. Wish my grandparents were still around. I spent more time than most with their grandparents and there are still questions I have that will now go unanswered. Call your grand parents y'all.
