Pretty diabolical of Cub. Gives you a wind burst book to get you back in the trial chambers, splitting your attention and keeping you away for longer, giving him more time to ore snatch. Clever man.

For the other hermits, possibly the alternate deck could incorporate the faces so more can be included? Additionally, the chips would really be a great addition option for more hermit faces! As for the killing chamber, a great and possibly funny entrance would say: "CertainHermit was killed by doing their laundry. " 😂

Agreed! The second Deck could have the others and maybe jokers or ace the rest! I kind of thought that doc would be a joker Obviously. In don't know if you need the jokers in a poker deck, but I feel like they would be essential in a card deck, especially if I'd want to buy it. Totally agree with doc's assignment so far but I feel like Stressmonster needs to be a queen of hears as well and iskall her king or Jack of hearts, skizz and Joe have have to be Jacks as well! Xb also could be a king, and tango. And impulse maybe because of his dwarf-theme last season?

There are currently 26 active hermits I think, so that leaves one second deck + 2 jokers or something for the rest! Would be better if everyone is included :)

The player brings real diamonds; the killing chamber has an item filter that changes them to chips and stores all the diamonds in a secure place separated from the other items the player is carrying; at the end of the game the casino changes back the chips to real diamonds (this can also be automated); bonus: the casino keeps a X% cut of the diamonds as an "administrative fee" 😇 Boy oh boy I can't wait for this to happen and for the poker cards to be available IRL! Let's effin' go Doc!!!

Etho’s Ravager Rush minigame has a great system for entering and exiting the game so no items enter or leave it! And you’d get a head of everyone who leaves so you know who to bump off if any little piggies squeal!

Hey doc I kinda fell behind on your hermit craft episodes but I was binge watching them a couple of days ago and in episode 10 I think you talked about how you and the rest of the hermits wanted to put season 9 server in the Minecraft / Microsoft and they wanted to charge money for it but you hermits insisted on it be free and made it free I just wanted to thank you and the other hermits for standing up for your community in that situation!

Tall people struggles! I remember growing up, going down the stairs from the second floor to the first, there was a part of the ceiling that dipped down a bit... one day when I reached my full height and was running down the stairs, I smacked my head off that ceiling. Us tall people need to have a lot of environmental awareness to stay safe

Doc i know it's a lot of extra work but it would be really cool if you did every hermit's face for the cards and it is possible. King, Queen and jack of each suit is 12 hermits and you have two decks so 12x2 is 24 hermit cards. You could redesign the Ace of each suit for both decks to be a hermit this gives a total of 32 face cards. This ends up being more then you need so you could change the remaining aces to the default suit or double up the hermits of ace for each deck. I think the hermits want to see their own special card, you cant deny that cub was excited.

If you add faces to the ace cards and have different hermits on the second deck you can have 32, which is enough to have everyone You could also have faces on aces in just one deck and have yourself in both decks, which comes out to 27

After seeing the Gem card (Queen of Diamonds), I couldn't help but think of how funny it would be to have Minecraft Themed cards. Spades are shovels, Diamonds are the shiny blue rocks, Clubs are the Mace, and Hearts can be half-filled Minecraft hearts.

Chips is probably still a good idea though, given you have to buy and sell the chips to the casino.... might be able to expand the Casino to various other gambling machines on the way out, to encourage them spending their remaining chips before leaving. I could picture roulette to be fairly straightforward to implement into redstone for example. maybe as like a "lite" roulette version with less tiles to spin?

hey, one way to include more hermits is having different face cards for the second deck! Unfortunately you can still only include 24 out of 27 hermits this way, but maybe you could make special joker cards for the last three (even though they won't be used in the actual game).

As of 1.20.5, hoppers no longer try to pick up item entities if a full block is on top of them. You could use colored wool to track your hopper lines now instead of using furnaces and composters.

Wow, glad to hear you are okay. As a side note / PSA, please go to the hospital if you get a brain / significant head injury. It can be very hard to tell how severe such an injury is, and complications can be life threatening. I know going to the hospital is a pain and can be expensive, but it is worth it if it saves your life or prevents permanent brain damage.

I think using poker chips would provide a good cover for skimming diamonds from the game for yourself. If the hermits have to convert diamonds into chips to play, and then “cash out” before they leave, that would give you a chance to do some cool redstone when converting back and fourth behind the scenes to make this black market poker to your advantage. Just a fun idea to make sure the house always profits haha

The benefit of using chips instead of diamonds would be a psychological factor: chips don’t feel like „real“ money so the hermits would be much more likely to throw in huge bets (which you can take from them ;)). Also seeing custom models is always a delight!

You should add the ability for hermits to loan some diamonds from you too, that their expected to return after the game So that some of the really broke hermits can still play a higher stakes game, and maybe even, get into some debt That maybe some kind of, hypothetical, gambling mafia mob boss, might have to step in a bit

If it makes you feel any better, I've given myself 2 concussions in about a years time. Slid down a frictionless slide with my then toddler right after it rained, tucked him close to me before smashing my head onto other playground equipment. And then putting away groceries I whacked my head on a corner wall. I think concussions just happen in parenthood to be honest. Better me than them!

Doc, you're using two decks, which means you can have different hermits for the second deck! With 24 hermits you just have to figure out which three you like the least.

Fun Fact! In the Dutch cards the aces are actually important architecture from across our country. Mainly cathedrals, palaces and a castle. Meanwhile instead of the King, Queen and Jack you've got the Heer (Lord), Vrouw (Lady) en Boer (Farmer, but since it's a B it could also be Burger. Which means wealthy merchant/trader/citizen of a city. Anyways the cards show guards in a 17th century style). But everything else is completely the same, and apart from these aesthetic changes it is the exact same. No play difference.

Bourgeoisie could also be a good translation of Burger, that word has quite a lot of translations. Ranging from just plain citizen which is currently the most common, to any of the previous things, which may have been more common at different points in time.

Oh, and by the way. Diamonds are called "ruiten" in Dutch. Which is just the name of the 2d shape with edges of equal length but where the corners are pointed directly up/down/etc. instead of diagonally as with a vierkant (a square, literally a fourside). Technically a ruit can be a square, but usually the angles are not 90 degrees. And depending on one's strictness of a square, that may or may not be a square.

I love farms put together with crafters. I’ve been running an azalea>dirt>mud>clay>teracotta/brick farm with side product mud into packed mud and using the oak wood from the azalea to make charcoal to cook the terracotta and clay bricks. Lots of products coming from it. I need to make a flower dye farm to start dying the terracotta. Good stuff!

I think using chips would be better than using diamonds. It adds a layer of abstraction away from the real monetary value and would make people more likely to play a bit riskier. It also means that if you give for example 10 chips for one diamond, and someone cashes out with 13 chips you can give them just 1 diamond in return and pocket the difference

Since you will have two deck of cards already, you could make alternate art for the Kings, Queens and Jacks of the second one. This will allow you to feature more Hermits and give you an excuse to sell more deck ! If you want to feature all the active hermit on the cards, you would only need three alternate decks. It would even leave you some figure cards to represent TFC, Jellie and the Goatmother !

31:17 if you wanted to include more hermits deck 1 and deck 2 could have different face cards. Would be a lot of extra work tho

For the laundromat design on top of the casino, you could get inspiration from Breaking Bad. They were running their "operation" from the cellar of a huge industrial laundromat place.
