I've been watching this master mechanic work on many cars she is fantastic and extremely talented. I couldn't believe she rebuild a few engines like a mustang! And to top it all off.. She's beautiful! Her dad must be so proud of her. I know if she was my little girl i would be!

All lubed up and ready to go 👍.. Top tip slacken oil filter housing first and it will drain it clean along with the sump.

Yup all good. I opened the oil cap and left that off. Opening the filter without draining would have spilled more oil than if I drained it first. I only know those things because back in FL..I was around way way too many BMWs. But you can do it either way..it drains fine as the filter is up top so the only oil left is in the filter case which is cleaned up with paper towels. Thanks for watching. Cheers!

@@woman.driven ---> Mark is correct... in most cases with a cartridge filter, a fair amount of additional oil will drain down into the pan once the oil filter lid is cracked open.

Time for an ESS SC system on the M3. Rod bearings first though😉 I use LM oil in my E92 as well. Great choice👍

Rod bearings were replaced at 60k miles. So it's ESS ready ;). They're local to AZ too so let's see. Usually SC's are not track friendly since they generate so much heat. Thanks for watching!

Wow, I‘m impressed: someone who cleans the oilfilter housing👏🏻 At BMW shops, the old oil (about 0.8 litres) stays in there🤮 So for a full oilchange you need 9.5-9.6 litres of oil. That‘s why I do the service by my self🛠 PS: The oilfilter cap gets 40 Nm, not 25 Nm as it is shown on the cap😉 As always, a great video from you Doris😎 Next video: rod bearing job by Doris💪🏻 Greetings from Germany🤘🏻

lol..thank you! Yup..cleaning the housing is must. You are correct, it does need around 9.5 liters. Once I filled it up it went in green with no issues. But it is showing it half way and not full. So we'll need to get one more quart. I'll need to get the proper socket for the cap and torque it right. I'll make sure to do it right. Luckily the bearings are done on this car. It was replaced at 60k miles. Thanks for watching! 👍😀

That was really interesting watching how you changed the brake fluid, I’ve never seen the brake flush pump you used I definitely have to look out and try that way looks so much easier, how I used to do it was just drain all the brake fluid then refill the master cylinder but then ya need someone in the car pumping the brake while you’re under the car open and closing the nut until all the air is bleed out , pretty primitive yeah .

It makes it soo much easier to be honest. Just fill with your choice of fluid, connect and pump. You have to check every so often and pump to keep the pressure, but it's a really useful tool. The pumping the brakes is still a choice for a lot, but not everyone has someone there to help ;).

Steven Stiltner I finally leave a good comment and someone has to come along and screw it up lol, you have to realize we’re floating on a big rock in space, the way Doris does things is more than good enough, a torque wrench can break and either over or under tighten, and I’d rather trust Doris than a so called expert with a bunch of fancy tools any day of the year

I've used a torque wrench many many times in quite a bit of my videos..as for using it for an oil change...I've rarely ever seen anyone use that. Not even professional techs and at dealer/performance shops or otherwise. I can assure you out of all the oil changes I've done..the drain plug has been mighty fine..even through track days.

Almost 10 months ago now a rode semi truck decided to remodeled my Yukon and I don't think it will buff out. It's great..a well engineered car and engine..as for which car..hm..I'd say GT-R lol. As it stands it's the fastest car in the garage and it has a v6..so less fill ups and you get to where you need to go quicker lol. Thanks for watching

Believe me, maintenance is a dreaded word for any BMW owner who doesn't work on their car. Glad you did the oil change and brake flush by yourself. Would have cost a fortune if you went to the BMW dealer. My friend paid the dealer $520 to change oil, DEF, and brake fluid for a 2013 330d x-drive.

Nice video. But, you've been playing with the American cars to much lately. lol With BMW's...it's always advised to remove the oil filter from the housing (leaving it open), then draining the oil from the pan. Once a lite drip (or stops dripping), then replace the oil pan plugs. Final, new oil filter and tighten. It's just the preferred method for all vehicles that have the oil filter up in the engine area. Would love to watch an engine cleaning on the BMW E92 M3!! Always enjoy watching your videos!! Merci

Hey thanks..yes..it's preferred; however, being around BMW for a while, I noticed that no more additional oil comes out leaving the filter open or closed. You can do either or. The oil is just stuck on the top that you have to clean off with paper. The crush washers were replaced for the drain plugs. Some kits offer new ones, others just the washers. Hhaha..oh I've been there lol. I've used jack stands in FL and even the oil changes on the quick ack in the beginning. I don't miss it. The bleeder is awesome. It makes things so much easier. Thank you!

I'm not a 100% sure of BMW's, but all oil changes I did that had the cartridge style oil filter they always seem to hold a little bit of oil until you loosen them so I would loosen the filter first before I drain it that way I get all of the dirty oil. Just a little help for the future, if I'm wrong please by all means let me know.

I suppose you can do either way. Since it's on top all of the oil flows down due to gravity when the car is turned off. The only thing left inside the filter is oil that is caught up on the sides. That is removed by a paper towel. There really isn't a wrong way, but I've been around enough BMWs in the past that doing it first or last does not net you that much oil coming out the oil pan ;)

Finally another female mechanic. 🥰 I'm learning , but it's def caught my eye, I always figure out the problems in our cars Before my bf and other male mechanics. Haha. Now if I could figure out why my cars RPMs are at 2000 , no mechanic here can fix it. Ugh. $1200 down the drain.
