I don't blame the bands personally... I blame it on modern production methods. I've been studying music production for the past four years, and the methods of today are nothing like those of the '70s. Back then the bands were usually laying down the core track live in the studio, and overdubbing additional parts later. That meant inevitable spill between instruments that tends to "glue" the band together and flesh out the sound. Today's engineers try to isolate everything as much as possible. I also think bands are recording in over-treated spaces too, where modern studios sound too sterile and lifeless. You look at a lot of classic albums from the '70s and they were recorded in far from ideal, makeshift spaces, usually using the Rolling Stones Mobile or something similar to track everything externally...

Ya know when ya hear a new band and know within the first 10 seconds if they rock or not? Well here it is, took me less than 10 seconds of hearing this on the radio in the truck and i had to pull over to do an internet search. This band KICKS ROCK IN THE BALLS. Badass vocals, guitar and bass, tight drums, makes me shiver...its too damn good! Ladies n gentlemen.....DIRTY HONEY! These guys are here to stay

This is one of the only legit rock bands operating today. I saw them multiple times in 2022 in the Chicago area. They sound like this throughout the entire concert.

Saw these guys at a tiny club in WI this summer. They were great! Met the bass player before the show & the rest of the band after. I requested "Last Child" after seeing a vid of them doing it. Not only did they play it for their encore, they even dedicated it to me! Fuck yea!! See you guys in Chicago & Milwaukee Feb 2020!

On my drive home tonight, I was in a pretty low place with a lot on my mind. Wasn't listening when this band introduced themselves before the song, but somehow the back of my mind heard "our new single" as the song caught my attention and took my mind from the shit place it was in, I was like "there is no way this is a new song, its giving me some 80s vibes might be a song I just havn't heard before?" So I kept listening and at the end of the song they introduced themselves again, "We're Dirty Honey and you just listened to our new single" a 20min ride back home I kept repeating that in my head to make sure I remembered it to find this video. I'm a fan now!!!! Great work! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Please never change. Don't cut your hair, any of you. Rock needs to be reminded of what good music looks like. Don't let anyone tell you you're a nostalgia band or some other nonsense either. Keep doing what you feel is right with your music and don't let anyone tell you what we want. When they try, point them to Rush's 2112. They were told fans didn't want long epic fantasy music. They did it anyway. 2112 Is now heralded as their breakout album. Follow their example and let the music take you wherever it needs to. We will be with you for the ride.

Every band has their influences and those influences may shine through from time to time, but damn... this is Dirty Honey, they create their own music and have their own sound. A much needed return to traditional rock, whatever that means to you.

I see a lot of people mentioning a Tesla sound but when I heard this, I instantly thought of one of the most incredible blues rock albums of the 80s, Badlands. I see a bit of the Tesla influence as well, but I hear a lot of Ray Gillen as well. Any way you slice it though, it's good to hear that blues influenced hard rock back in 2019.

These guys are a breath of old school fresh air. I saw them in Cleveland opening for Alter Bridge. I agree with the Badlands reference but have you heard of Cry of Love? That's the first band I thought of when i was at the show.....

Saw these guys last night in Minnesota. They opened for Alterbridge and Skillet and to tell the truth, they kicked ass!!! I love the old school feel and a singer that has pipes.Great job guys!! You have a new big fan and as a musician myself a lot of people have heard about you all day!!!
