That line you mentioned between the two bands was absolutely as Cory Wong and company recorded in Minneapolis USA while Dirty Loops recorded in Stockholm Sweden. As of the release of this video none of the musicians had ever met in person before. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around that factoid. These are definitely all top notch pros. Fun reaction! Oh and I seem to remember someone commenting once that the music behind the credits was actually the music from the credits of *Monster Inc.* the Pixar animated movie.
I have to say that discovering DL changed the way I listen to music and it also allowed me to be more open to other types of music that I’ve been missing out on. It really is a fun ride most of the time watching other people I have commonalities with react to and enjoy this stuff. I’m not a musician so I don’t know all the ins and outs of everything, so I stay in my lane in that regard. And people have made me aware that I comment on a lot of people’s reactions, but I can’t help but join in the fun because they bring me a lot of joy. So finding people like you who feel how I feel is great for me.
i thought we'd concluded that you probably are a musician...but one who hasn't yet found (and might never find) the right interface :-) But technology is moving fast. We now have VR that tracks eye movements, facial expressions, hands and fingers. Soon we'll have synthesizers that modulate the sound based on how you manipulate a virtual squishy ball for example. Or one that does it just with facial expressions. The progression here is easy to see, they started with pitch-bend and modulation wheels, moved to ribbon strips, (All 1 dimension so control one parameter), then pressure sensitive strips (2D), then trackpads with pressure (3D). Once you're in VR though you can add lots more dimensions and "shape" the sounds in real-time. OK, waffling now, soz. tl;dr you have music in you, the world hasn't yet provided you it's outlet 👍
"Loopified" is actually the name of their album from 2014, and they themselves jokingly call their process of arranging both covers and their own originals "to loopify", so it's a perfect term to use in this case. :D :D
Man, that was a fire reaction! Much appreciated, and you poured your heart and soul into this… 👍🙏👍 Yeah, it’s an amazing collaboration between those great musicians, and as always with Dirty Loops, whether to just vibe along (that shuffle groove is just so good!) or trying to analyses and to say something coherent, would be a hard call… 😂 I’ve listened to this now so many times, and still find out new things every time (guess it says a lot about my listening lol!) Would love for you to have a listen/reaction/analysis of their track “Follow the Light” from the same collab album with Cory Wong, also coming with a video. Very fun and enjoyable, Jonah is on fire and Henrik, the bassist gets a nice moment in the spotlight, too 👌 Thanks again for that, bro 🙏
Man... If you like this collaboration, you MUST check out their "Follow the Light". My favorite song? Probably... Yeah... My favorite song. It is INFECTIOUS!
I do love your reactions. The "follow the light" credits comment is regarding the other song with lyrics from this session, which is my favorite original song by DL, possibly my favorite over all though Thriller is very close. I wonder, have you come across Snarky Puppy? If not, maybe react to some? There's only a few videos with guest singers though. I'd recommend "Sleeper" if you can cope without a vocal part (though there's a semi-vocal instrument...ok, it's a hosepipe...but still amazing), or "Something" featuring Lalah Hathaway.
They never do ya wrong. I especially love that instrumental section, it's such a nice surprise on your first listen. There's something about that section that reminds me of The Pink Panther cartoons. I even watched a Pink Panther episode to see why I thought that & didn't hear any actual similar section. But every single time I listen to this, I think "Pink Panther!" It remains a mystery, lol.
Yeah, L B Mama, this middle bit just absolutely has this cinematic, movie quality, hasn’t it? For me, it’s always Star Wars coming up on my internal movie screen when I listen to this bit lol! But whatever, it always takes me into a different world….
@@fiddlestix3025 Right! It is driving me a bit crazy though, because I get all the sensory flashbacks of Pink Panther so specifically but I can't figure out why my brain insists on the linkage between the two. I'm pretty sure whatever part of my brain is responsible for memory storage & filing, ran out of file folders decades ago & just stashes everything randomly now & shreds the rest in a drunken stupor, without my permission, since I myself don't drink, lol.
I'm sure Michael Jackson and Rod Temperton are smiling down from Heaven when hearing this and Quincy has the biggest smile he possibly could have!! DL belongs to Quiny Jones Productions nowdays.
As much as I enjoy your reaction ... you didn't coin the adjective "loopified." That's been created many years earlier when they released their first-ever cover on YT, Lady GaGa's "Just Dance."
@@QofyReacts since when did I become the expert... and on what, to be precise? For the record... I just wanted to experiance the music and react alongside with you... like I would if I reacted with a friend in the same room. And he did not be so loud that my ears hurt and I could not hear the music... It was a wish and a tip... but keep it up 👍
Man... I felt just like you until I got a feel of the groove. lol, I listened a few times and I am hooked. Let me tell you about me. I am from GARY, INDIANA, and Mike and I went to the same grad school. I used to look in their window when their dad had them practicing. He ran off my miniature butt and I didn't do that again. I went on and did 29 years in the Army and became an SGM. I still have contact with the brothers and we listened to this via Skype, and we became emotional. I got to myself and my eyes began to sweat because Mike touched this band to re-create this. They let M.J. know they LOVE him and produced their VERSION of "THRILLER" and its pure creativity. LOVE YOU M.J. old friend. (sniff)
