you obviously don't play a musical instrument... otherwise you would be able to appreciate the very high level these guys are playing at, even if you aren't into their style of music. :)
Everyone seems to be criticizing these guys for playing too mainstream these days. Actually I think they found a pretty good mix between popular/mainstream elements and truly skilled playing. If they'd be playing purely Jazz or Fusion, I don't think they would be this popular as a band.

***** We would fail if we try to relate the chordprogressions to a tonal center. They move at the border to atonicality (don´t mix with atonality). It´s like like eating a dish thats extremly alienated with lots of spices, so that you hardly recognize it. Using chordprogressions like this has the goal to irritate the listeners ears, but this is something the composers of the late romantic epoque have done yet, so nothing new. However, what DL do is unique and for the listener eather mindfucking, or mindblowing ;)
***** Fmin is a chromatic pickup it happens on the weak beat and leads to F#min7 = (iii->iv), it works because of the placement but you could try putting off chords on strong beats too ya never know. Now the Bmin7 to Bbmin7 is bvii --> vi, and vi is borrowed from the C#min parallel major Cmaj. the upper structure of Bbmin is close enough to A7b5 which is the sub5 of G#. If you notice the Bb --> D --> G#, this is a reharm with delayed resolution using interpolated bII (Dmaj7 once again fits because upper structure is diatonic only bass not is "out"). THe unreharm would actually be A-->G#min7 =(bVI --> v [more apt analysis is subV/V --> v]). so their version is just a fancy way of doing subV's. In my opinion this is actually in C#maj kindof but they are always using the borrowed minor. Do you agree?
Everyone that says this isn't normal or good Dirty Loops must not have listened to the gorgeous chorus chord progression. It completely surprised me, and has made this one of my favorite Dirty Loops covers.
Found the original and felt like I was being hit with a wet lettuce (purely a subjective viewpoint) but speaking in jazz/rock terms, this take was right in the zone for me. The covers and original music Dirty Loops create push the envelope of musicianship and the classified structure of composition, which many musician/composers attempt to do but not all are able to carry off. Dirty Loops simply does and like many growing fans, I want more.
that would be the main problem with jazz fans right ? :) they just can't feel music. they need to climb up there to find out that they will just fall off.
Just absolutely mindblowing! Dirty Loop's stuff contains seriously some of the most beautiful and awesome pieces of music / art I've ever listened to! Outsatanding performance!

hahaha the beginning...you guys starting off at 1+ really got me goin' over it twice :) Fat beat, really got it pumpin' like the big club hits and adding your nice harmonies really got me twisting

Can't believe I just discovered these guys just recently! Been playing and replaying some of their music for a while now. Gotta say, this one's my favorite out of all of them. I just love how they end this song so much! It really pulls at my heartstrings whenever I hear it. Do they still make covers or songs? I feel like I've already watched all of their content..
Had to hear the original after this and now I can't undo that. There's just no point for having the original other than for inspiring Dirty Loops to do it the right way.
I love what these guys do to such musically poor popular songs. But I think this is a really hip new twist on what they do. I just stared at the screen for a second when the video ended and all I could manage to say was "woah". Somehow they blow my mind with their covers every time no matter what genre the original song is.

Different songs have different functions. This is dance music for a club setting, so there's going to be a lot of repetition and mainly focused on the downbeats. Their playing is still far beyond the abilities of normal pop musicians, and incredible musicians can make any song sound incredible. I respect their decision to keep it simple fully knowing that they could have made it way more complicated had they wanted to.
