That's right, I'm back again with more disabled characters in media!!!
I hope people see the announcement. I'm not sure when I'll be able to release that but hopefully you will help out :)
I honestly wouldn't be making this series if you hadn't all given me suggestions and support throughout this. I wouldn't have even made a part 2 if 1 hadn't blown up. I also would've never more than 1 other part if you guys didn't have so many suggestions of characters and shows if forgotten or never seen in my life, so thank you all so much fir supporting me :D

Disassociative identity disorder (DID) [bed rep but it was highly requested)

@@HeavyWeaponsGuyisHornyit's been awhile since I've played the game so correct me if I'm wrong but I believe one of the issues here is the only two characters with DID being depicted as violent and murderous (toko and junko), Which just continues to push a harmful narrative that the media has been forcing onto people with dissociative identity disorder for YEARS. There's just not a lot of positive representation of the disorder and it causes a lot of issues for the people who do have it.

@katie15732 Phil (deaf) from The Penguins of Madagascar and Mr. Bean (ADHD, Peter Pan and Asperger's, some of kind of a mixture), too. There was also an obscure Spanish (produced in Basque, actually) cartoon (i remember watching it on my native language), named Los Balunis, in which it features an elderly character riding on a wheelchair.

I’m very glad you put Warriors in this. The series has a pretty good representation of disabled characters. When I saw Jayfeather in the thumbnail, I was like “Hell yeah im watching this!” Oh, off topic but my dog is disabled too :> (He is paraplegic, or paralyzed in the lower body, he has a wheelchair but my family prefers him not to use it so he can build up strength in his legs, he walks just fine!)

My dog is disabled too! He has a neurological disability so he’s very special, my best guess is dog Down syndrome but there’s very little study of neurological disorders in dogs. I watched this video because of Jayfeather as well lol! Crookedstar and jayfeather were two of my favorites

I want to add that they portrayed one of Mike's alters "mal " as a villain which should never be done with a character that has Dissociative identity disorder. Also didn't like how they got rid of his alters like it could be cured like that.

I’m developing a story where the main character has DID and goes on a quest to learn about himself and his alters, while also getting revenge on people who had traumatized him. Though I don’t have DID myself, I do my best to research on DID, including reaching out to those who have been diagnosed with it. It’s best to read through what’s good and bad representation of DID. ^^

Suggestions: 1. ENA (I think) some people think she has DID or bipolar, but for me it feels more like 2 different people in one body, since they have different voices. But it is ENA, so anything could happen. One side is an optimistic side and one is a unoptimistic side. Plus the unoptimistic side seems kinda depressed as she breaks down a lot and wishes for someone to “end her suffering”.

I love these videos so much! I’m glad you are putting this stuff out there for others to see. I was thinking, perhaps you could include some Craig of the Creek characters if you have a part 6? The two characters would be Jackie/The arm [deaf], and JP [autism/neurodivergent]. CotC is my favorite show and comforts me very well, and it barley ever gets any recognition for its amazing representation and diversity, so it make me so happy if you included them. I would say rise donatello, but he’s not explicitly stated to be autistic, however he is a very well written example of autism and has been stated by the writers to have been written with autism in mind.

Here are my questions! :3 1- Which disabilities would you like seeing in media more? 2- Do you know any case IRL about a discapacity? 3- What is your general opinion on hospitals? 4- Any strange discapacities you find interesting? 5- Which is the WORST disability representations you have ever seen in media? Also, a weird suggestion since is mentioned in the series but happens off-screen, but Homura Akemi from Mahou Shojo Madoka Magica used to have a heart disease which kept her for months away from school. On the seventh chapter, as she is presented to the class in a flashback, is expressed, and a while after she gets called by Madoka and goes to the school nurse to take some pills for it (probably for safety reasons).

I always loved the way Dr. Gregory House (House MD) told his leg damage/trauma to a class of medical students(Muscle cell death+infarction that lead to chronic pain) as a test to help them learn diagnostics. He also struggles with a drug addiction because of the constant leg pain. His colleagues have also suspected him to be on the autistic spectrum but he was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder.

"Blue-Eyed Samurai" has a well-written characters such as the Shogun's first-born son/Akemi's new husband who, in spite of his stutter, is actually gentle; also Kinuyo - a deaf and mute woman who was mercy-killed by Mizu

One of my favorite characters with autism is a character named Fantoccio from the game Billie Bust Up. What’s special about him is that he was a fan submitted character that the autistic fan who designed him put a lot of himself into. For example, in most art of the character, he is shown stimming by patting his face, a stim of the creator of the character himself. The game also did a sponsored stream with ASAN, the Autism Self Advocacy Network, an organization dedicated to creating a more respectful view of autism run by an autistic board of directors.

Questions #1: what inspired you to put autumn (lego friends) in disabilities part 3? I’m asking this as autumn is one of my favorite characters in Lego friends! #2: how many parts will this series have #3: do you consider statements made by the crew of a show as canon? If so, I think you should put Marcy from Amphibia in part 6, she was confirmed to be autistic by the Amphibia team after the show ended, she’s also my favorite character in Amphibia #4: would you consider vitiligo a disability, if so, then put Mateo from lego dreamzzz in part 6! #5: just curious, what are your preferred pronouns and are you disabled irl? You can only answer if you feel comfortable with it!

Batman has a ton of Rogues with various disorders/disabilities (though I wouldn't say they're accurate, especially the first): Both Two-Face and The Ventriloquist have DID (fun fact: in Batman TAS, Batman calls Ventriloquist's disorder Multiple Personality Disorder, which is what it was called before it was changed to Dissociative Identity Disorder a year later) The Riddler has OCD (can't commit a crime without leaving a riddle/can't help but answer riddles, as seen in Justice League Action) The Joker has PBA that causes him to involuntary laugh The Penguin sometimes has deformed hands (also Dwarfism maybe?) The Mad Hatter sometimes has Dwarfism (The New Batman Adventures comes first to mind) Magpie is a kleptomaniac Obviously this isn't everyone, just those I knew for sure/came to mind

Harley Quinn is known for her mental struggles as well (Histrionic Personality Disorder, abuse victim, visual/audio hallucinations+other psychosis symptoms)and Cyborg/Victor Stone (cybernetic enhancements done through experiments, by his parents) are also pretty obvious for DC. The character I have is not canonically autistic, but he’s REALLY implied to be, like if the writers were to say he was (which will probably never happen) it honestly wouldn’t surprise me much. Goemon Ishikawa XIII from Lupin the Third has a lot of autistic traits, some notably being his lack of social skills, a mainly monotone voice whenever he speaks, a supposed comfort object (zantetsuken), a picky eater in some scenes, sometimes takes jokes literally, has some form of routine (trains with his sword/zantetsuken VERY often), and he can even infodump in some scenes, there’s also a scene in one of the tv specials where he says quotes lines from his favourite movie with zero context. There’s a LOT more pointers i can go into, but i would be here for ages LOL, but yeah a lot of people in the lupin fandom from what i’ve seen can agree that he’s autistic, so i felt the need to request him here!

Just letting you know split personality disorder isn't a thing it's just DID/it's just called DID /gen naming it split personality disorder implies it's a personality disorder (which is isn't) and also it's just is a horrible explanation for it as DID is so much more than just splitting.

I love it. Guess there are more disabled characters with authism that are not annoying or super inteligent. There is an apisode of "Arthur" with a boy who has Asperger. Owen (total drama), Obelix, Alcest (le petite Nicolas) and Garfield have Prader Willie syndrome, they eat everytime and are fat

Another one I know (not sure if it is a disability but it does affect on the person's,well in this case object,life.) It's Suitcase from Inanimate insanity,they have psychosis.

Kaz Brekker has a limp and PTSD. He's from the Six of Crows books and Shadow and Bone on netflix. He's the best PTSD depiction ive ever come across.

I’m not sure if you’re gonna do another part, but there’s a few characters with disabilities in My Hero Academia. Shouta Aizawa is missing one leg and one eye, Mirko is missing a leg and an arm, Katsuki Bakugou is missing an arm, Shouto Todoroki is heavily implied to be autistic, Izuku Midoriya is heavily implied to be autistic, Mei Hatsume is heavily implied to be autistic, Tensei Iida is in a wheel chair, Tomura Shigaraki has an unnamed skin disorder, Twice has a split personality disorder, and there’s probably more but that’s all I can think of right now. I love this series!😁

Briarlight from warriors may be a good one for the next video! Her back legs were crushed by a tree and she has to use her front legs to walk for the rest of her life. Edit: Starflight and Tamarin from the wings of fire series may also be good. They’re both blind characters, Starflight’s blindness being caused by burning. Can’t wait to see the next vid!

I haven't seen the Q&A(probably should) so I do not know if you are going to make another part but I was reading some of the comments and I have a few suggestions as well: Zuko(ATLA) because he has lots of trauma and also a literal burn scar which probably prevents him from seeing fully And also another commenter mentioned this but the glider wheelchair guy in ATLA as well(his name's Teo apparently) From the studio ghibli movies I've seen they seem to have some sort of trauma in them especially the latest movie so PTSD for Mahito I think

Aaaa I love these videos. Have you included Doppio+Diavolo from jojo..? They're a DID system. The rep is like, hmm....I've heard mixed opinions from systems. It was written in the 1990s I think. Doppio specifically is also psychotic especially in relation to, his mind not registering/blocking out anything thatd make him realize he's part of a system..!!! I think a good example of a fictional character with DID is Fei, the main character from the Game Xenogears. The Game even went as far as to literally call it Dissociative identity disorder, which is insane for a Game released in 1998

A disabled character that’s really special to me is Dave from Dave and Bambi! (Wheelchair user/amputee) I love how nobody makes a big deal out of his disability, and he also uses it to his advantage! Even when it is acknowledged, he’s never mocked or made out to be “special”. I am physically disabled (I don’t use a wheelchair though) and I really see myself in Dave, he’s even the reason I’ve started to feel more confident in my disabilities.

I know I suggested these on your last video, but I was a bit late. Might I suggest John Locke from lost (wheelchair user, but he can walk in most of the main plot for reasons that would take forever to explain), or Alex Krycek from The X-Files (Amputee)? I know you've probably never heard of these though, lol. EDIT: And Daniel Faraday from Lost!!! (significant memory loss from brain damage, which is again "cured" in most of the plot, but he was also a child prodigy and a savant which could have implied he may have been autistic?)
