Disappointing End of an Era. This is OFFICIALLY my last one... The year of the Motorcycle Rally is almost over and I have decided that this is the last one I will spend my personal time and money on. I vowed to spend more time traveling solo in the future months and enjoying this gorgeous country without the giant crowds and overpriced market. I still love a good Rally! But maybe just a little less next time XD

We rode to BB&BBQ from Troy, Ohio. It was our first ever rally and longer road trip. Had a blast! Beautiful roads, Pig Trail was fun. Definitely planning to hit this one up again.

A couple of weeks ago, some buddies and I rode up to Mena Arkansas. I too, was incredibly impressed with the beauty of the Arkansas mountains. We stayed at Queen Wilhelmina Mountain Lodge. I was expecting an out dated 1950’s old dump and was pleasantly surprised with a reasonably priced (cheap) modern facility. The only disappointment was the food. I can’t wait to go back to explore more beautiful twisties. You won’t regret. See you at Barber…then the Tennessee and Georgia mountains. 👍👍

We are outside of St. Louis, and made a last-minute decision to just drive our jeep to bikes, blues, barbecue. The amount of rain forecasted for Friday and Sunday just did it well with my wife. The weather Saturday was phenomenal, and really wasn’t too bad with the tops off and windows down in the Jeep.

Jess you are right on the $ when you say a solo rip is true freedom. I did a 5k mile trip out west from Iowa a month ago, and im still not back home in my head. Im still gettin high in the rockies. Oh and to cure my bordom on the way home, I put youtube on my phone and listened to that. It was a good way to pass time.

❤ 🔥 i couldn't make it to BB&B this year. But i now live in Eastern Oklahoma/NW Arkansas, and after living in Florida most of my life I can tell you that the rides you get out here are far more beautiful than Florida, specially how crowded Florida is right now.

I made a wrong move going from Eureka Springs to the Switchback bar in April. Wrecked my trike, and really ruined the day for someone in a brand new Range Rover Defender on April 21,2023. Totaled my trike and broke my back. Just picked up another trike, and plan to attend “Spring Fling” again next year.

I totally know what you mean about the audible book. Way back a few years ago I was listening to one of the Harry Potter books where Dumbledore died. There I am running on the treadmill in a gym crying my eyes out! Yea not a good scene. You know it is a great book though when it gives you all the feels! I love fantasy books also.

I (Melissa) was there and stayed in Eureka Springs. I did not get to the main events in Rogers. I did get to Pig Trail HD. I left Sunday morning and did the Pig Trail on my way to Memphis. We did not have bad weather at all.

You should come up to wisconsin for tomahawk fall ride rally in mid septembers. Next year you should check it out. Small town turns into a mini sturgis over a few locations and the roads between em are beautiful. After i moved uo here it was rwccomended to me and omg i love going

I've had so many people ask if I'm ever going to ride to Sturgis. They look at me funny when I say "yes, but not for the rally". I rode out to Rapid City back in June and had Iron Mountain road to myself! I think going to a rally to go to a rally is a great plan, but if you're going for the roads, go off rally. Not gonna lie, I'm thinking about trying to hit some rallies next year after seeing the great times you had this year!

If it's any consolation, I'm a pretty big guy. And I've been riding for 35 years, and I still hate riding through gravel on my bagger. The only thing I can really think about whenever I'm doing it is whether that front end is going to flip out sideways. You're exactly right when you say ride your own ride. And you're paying for that bike, and nobody else.

If you come down to the Ozarks again I can show you some good roads besides the pig trail. Even though it's called pig trail Harley Davidson it's 2 hours south of their location. As I mentioned before elsewhere, this part of Arkansas is kind of like a choose your own adventure book for motorcycle riders. There are so many good roads. And being a former road captain for an MC once upon a time I have ridden quite a few of them and have planned lots of good half day rides. Glad you came down and it was good to see you. Hope to see you again

@@David-yp4fl there are lots of twisty roads and lots of forest. If you're going to ride to the back country, plan your roots to make sure you don't run out of gas. There are some roads that are really good- Highway 16, 27, and 123 are very curvy. Be aware of deer.

You know Jess, I avoid rallies. I ride for myself, mainly solo. I am blessed, to be able to ride the Pigtrail, whenever I want. I live about 1.5 hours, of two lane riding, from Eureka Springs. Just head east, from Eureka, over to Berryville, and take Highway 21 south. Through the little town of Kingston, following Highway 21, down into Boxley Valley. Be careful of the Elk in Boxley, ride down through Fallsville, Ozone, be sure and stop at the Ozone Burger Barn, for lunch, and find your way on down to Clarksville. Between Ozone and Clarksville, you go through Red Lick, where I live. When you get to Clarksville, you are only 20 miles to the foot of the Pigtrail. You can take, Wire Rd, all the way over, for a slower paced ride, or jump on I-40 for a quicker ride. Take 23 N at exit 35, and ride up to the junction of 23 and 16. 16 West will take you to Fayetteville, a few miles south of Pig Trail HD in Rogers. 16/21 to the West will take you back to Fallsville, or at the split take 23 N to Huntsville. In Huntsville, Highway 412 will take you to Springdale, just south of Rogers, and Pigtrail HD, or back East to run back up 21 to Berryville, on your way Back to Eureka.

I go every year to BBB first year in a car, recovering from a bike crash. I did buy a new bike in rodgers this year had to go back on Tuesday and get the bike with a trailer. Come on back for spring fling or BBB next year maybe I will get a chance to meet you.

Great video as usual Jess. Gotta say, really digging your morning voice, yeah a weird comment but love the relaxed tone. I do voice work for my company so I notice these little things lol. Up here in Canada and figure about 4 weeks of riding left, actually my favorate riding season. Gonna cram in as many miles as I can on my Road King and GS. Me and the wife are concidering the Snowbird thing too. Can't take the winter withdrawal of not riding for months at a time.

Yes, the roads down there are great. Been to BB&B three years in a row and only been to the actual rally in Rogers once. Been to the dealer and stayed in Harrisonville and Elaine Springs and rode the area. Don’t like big crowds.

I track my mileage and time traveled and wish I could cover the ground you do. I'm stuck at around 43mph on my bike. Between fuel stops and dealing with my back and out of condition it is the best I can do. The Milwaukee trip, my local rides always seem to end up around 43 miles per hour. That is what happens 12 or so back surgeries will get you I guess. Still looking for a camera mount that will help the stabilization my cheap ass camera has. I'm a solo kinda rider I would like a partner though. I'm not a fan of group rides.

I sure enjoyed this Jess and thanks. Enjoyed seeing the roads and scenery down in the country of my Father and his ancestors, mostly Douglas County, MO Ozarks but they were scattered about down into the Arkansas Ozarks also. This area of the Arkansas Ozarks is high on my retirement area for the beautiful scenery, fishing, and great motorcycle roads (without doubt). Just have to wait 5 years for my wife to join catch up. My Father, and all but one of his brothers moved out to Midland, Michigan during the great recession for work at Dow Chemical, and of course all were in WW2, and thankfully survived. Some of clan stayed in the Ozarks and I visited them 6 years ago when my last remaining Aunt Loraine passed. I am feeling a kinship of sorts to unite with our history as we pretty much followed after Daniel Boone into Missouri, we just went to the Ozark Mtns. There is even a large creek and Conservation area named after us on the eastern part of Douglas County, part of The Mark Twain National Forest.

You do so many highway miles. I think you really need to take two/three week trip around the country with zero highways. You can piece together so many beautiful roads.

these events can't be much diffrent then power tour, the events seem so fun but I would just rather be with friends on those trips and go find a spot to camp rather then be in a crowded location get stuck in a line of other tourist on the road

Jess if you use google maps when you do your trips, go into settings and turn off highways and it makes some pretty good rides. I ran out of gas 2 or 3 times though, I made it to a station in time 2 of the 3 times. The one time where I could have been stranded I pulled up behind a local that was dealing with a phone call on the side of the road and he went and got me some gas, wouldn't let me pay him for it and said just pass it on. I live by that now. We are a little different riders, but if you use maps it learns from what you do, turn off highways for a trip or two and go see America. After that it tends to route you on secondary highways and roads and I really enjoyed the ride home, well except running out of gas at 5am but it worked out.

When I “turn off highways” it just takes me down the MOST congested roads full of traffic lights and morons behind the wheel. When I actually play a “non interstate trip” I take the time to plan an enjoyable route. Don’t ever trust “avoid highways”

@@HerTwoWheels I guess living in places where everything is a long drive it might make a difference. I understand what you say about the traffic and all that but here in Texas and in Wisconsin where I first did it, it really took me off the beaten track. Other than the spacing of gas stations through farm country and things like that it worked well. I noticed when I put highways back on it tended to route me to US highways rather than the interstate unless it couldn't be avoided but got me off as soon as a route became viable.
