That is a very fair comment, sorry about that, I hope it didn't cause you too much trouble. We are redoing these older one with better filming equipment. I will make a note to change that when we get there.
Can the controller port front face be removed? I want to do a shell swap, but i want to keep the front gray controller port face. The new shell is solid blue and i just want it to stand out a little more with some original parts.
This is the Sega Dreamcast from 1999. It followed the Sega Saturn in production. Particular recent relevance in the current era it was the original release of the Phantasy Star Online series.
When I unstick the heat shield from the main board, the sticky thermal pad came off the main board and remained stuck to the shield; Should I apply any glue or thermal paste or replace the thermal pad? Or should it restick and do its job when firmly replacing the board into the shield?
Personally I just restick it when that happens. There is a chance that you have an overheating problem later on but from my personal experience I've never had any problems just putting it back together as long as the thermal pad is making contact.
Haha, slip of the tongue, did mean Dreamcast. There are a few reasons I want to re-film all these with better video and better discussion. Thank you for pointing this out.
