The pandemic was not solely responsible for gas prices being a third of the price they currently are. 2/3 of the country did not suddenly stop driving for multiple months BEFORE and AFTER lockdowns. Other factors were obviously at play and you'd have to be a brainless sheep to immediately disregard this. I bought gas ranging from 1.37-1.50 when I first began driving in January 2020 to at least September 2020. Gas prices steadily increased back to where it was prior, slightly above 2.00 a gallon, and stagnated. Since Trump left office, prices have steadily kept rising to be significantly higher than they were before any hints of a pandemic. I never thought I'd be paying 3.70-4.00 a gallon for gas less than two years after I started becoming an adult. I now pay twice as much for a significantly smaller car and there's literally nothing I can do about it. Oh! and now there's two ongoing wars due to the perceived weakness of the US under the leadership of a worldwide-depicted senile fool. I can't wait to see what the rest of my life holds when this is the shit that happens when I just get started.
