These cells only really become dangerous when charged or discharged at incorrect rates/voltages or below their minimum voltage, they'll last quite some time if you use a quality lipo charger and don't run it with too much resistance while keeping an eye on voltages, I've always used my RC battery Lipo charger which has an adjustment for charging amps to charge them individually regardless of their capacity (at 1C charge rate), and if I need some more amps out of them I'll run multiples of these vape batteries (a couple friends give me all their dead vapes) in parallel after individually charging them. One thing of note is the rechargeable but disposable vapes have a quality Lipo charger in them which can be removed and used in conjunction with the battery for whatever you need it for, though they'll only support one battery at a time. A project I've got on my radar is taking a little over 100 of these batteries and stringing them in series to make a mobile charger for a capacitor bank I've built, it won't run for more than a few seconds at a time but I _am_ a little worried about the accumulated series resistance of the batteries, running 400+ Volts worth of vape batteries _is_ a little bit sketchy lol 😂. And the vacuum/pressure switches can be really handy if you know what you're doing, they only work in niche applications (like rigging a non-conductive remote controlled pneumatic switch using plastic tubing and a syringe to activate high voltage capacitor banks without getting zapped😉) but they're robust little units, and can switch with a surprisingly small pressure differential. These vapes are a bounty of goodies if you know what to do with them.

Thanks for the video, I have quite a few of these, can’t help but pick them up! I have been discarding the little “microphone” and just keeping hold of the battery. Seems they can be used as a charger too which is interesting. Just a shame the output times out and cuts off after a set period. Are you just touching the bare switch wire which is activating it or were you grounding it? Thanks.

I got lost half-way through. You use that long rectangular board to do what? It connects to the battery( cell ) and there are 2 output pins. OK, now how do you now charge the cell? Via a 4056?
