Was literally playing this song the other day and was like "how do they do these chords?" I was trying so many different chord structures, looking up any info on the song online, and then you post this and he's literally just using building off a nice sample and playing MIDI. Gotta stop overthinking it lol

It's a technique based off older synths with a feature called Chord Memory, where you would enter in a chord and then be able to play it back with one key and it would transpose across the keys. Instead of having to memorize a chord configuration to playback across multiple keys, you could just press a single key at a time during your performance.

Long, please. These short vids don't really teach me anything. They never get into the "why", only the "how". So you don't learn much that you can apply to something else, you only learn how to copy. You can even shorten this video to a single sentence: "stack three samples and play ninths".

Yeah there isn't really a why. It just sounds cool. If you wanna know what this technique is called in music theory it's called "planing" or parallel harmony.
