Discogs a game changer, for buyers, availability, sellers, and higher prices for rare things. But you can get records you want and will never see in a store. for inventory very helpful to be able to catalogue, for efficiency. With my collection i found many surprises, including that Egyptian Lover "Egypt,Egypt" 7" i promptly sold for $275; and that 80s pressing of Fun House i bought in the 90s thinking it was an "OG" copy from the shop,s blurb ha ha.

The records aren't the same. They vary by country, year and the specific matrix/runout. Also a good tip to look at the images carefully to make sure yours is the correct pressing before adding to your collection.

I hadn't known about the catalog code on records! Now I can put any I buy secondhand at record shops on and be accurate about the pressing.

This is hilarious. I was using discogs back in 2004 when this kid wasn't even born ...
