@@NTXVinyl so at the risk of being crucified, yes: own a bunch of Japanese pressing Beatles as well as some rare U2 extended mixes. I’ll confess: in my very humble opinion: 2 of the most overrated bands of all times🤣

Do you log it in by runout? The barcode doesn't cut 90% of the time.

@@michaelc.antonino4740 not sure exactly what you mean by runout, but I just type in the catalog number that's on the spine manually and 99% of the time it pops up right away, if multiple versions pop up then just go through the pictures and see which one you have. Then you press what looks like a sideways sandwich to catalog and press it a second time to put specifics in like the grading of the record and the sleeve and then you can put notes in too.

@@ThiKu Honestly, it was more than a year ago and I can't remember. I can imagine that there are far more variables with vinyl than CD listings. Such as pressings, plants, label and cover variations, etc.

That would not help. Pre-1980's LPs were pressed in mass, and most releases have many many versions. An image of the cover would only send you to the main release, you gotta go off very unique specifics in the dead wax and/or on the disc label

On a computer simple go to your Collection page. At very bottom there is an option to export to a CSV file. There ya go

Sometimes it can, but no...not always. Most ties barcode scan will take you to the main release page, or a couple versions that are close.

It depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. Keep in mind that listing the proper VERSION is important should you later decide to sell your item on Discogs (yes, sometimes buyers , myself included, are only interested in a specific version). "Database Guidelines" under the "Community" tab provides detailed info regarding submission. Start by reading the "Basic Guidelines" and the "Overview Of General Information" sections. To verify that what you mean by "white label" and/or "promo" is the same as what Discogs means, you'll want to read Section 6 of the Database Guidelines. If you need to enter a new version, then follow that path. If you decide you have a different variant of a version already listed, then you are able to directly update that particular version (sometimes I do; sometimes I just add it to my collection). The more experience you gain, the easier it becomes. I'm still in the process of cataloging. Sometimes I can identify my item quickly. Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a huge game of multi-dementional "What's the Difference?"

Someone browsing your collection cannot make an offer on something you own unless you choose to list it as a sale item. They can msg you and ask you about it though. We’ve had that happen often
