Back for even more fun to talk about those impossible to find (and afford) records in Discogs. These are always fun, hope you enjoy.

Good stuff. I also love perusing Discogs. I had one recent find that is worth mentioning. I scored a 2 10" yellow translucent vinyl for Abecedarians, The Other Side of the Fence. They only ran 1500 total units, BUT only 500 of them were on the colored vinyl. They are all individually numbered. I got a mint/sealed copy for 80 bucks. A value, as I saw it. Gratitude.

That's a band (and a Factory one, too! At least for their first 12") that I am not familiar with and I want to thank you for mentioning them. I am going to give them a listen now.

Not just Discogs. Ebay sellers are a joke sometimes. I questioned a seller on an unofficial release by Syd Barrett and his reason for the price was, "there may be a sucker out there who will pay that much for it"! There was a seller trying to sell a sealed copy of Pink Floyd's Meddle for £12,000 sterling. Absolutely a dreamer!

That's a hell of a sales tactic, waiting for a sucker. I don't get too upset by this stuff anymore - I was a kid in the 80's and lived through the first of these collector's bubbles with baseball cards, comics, etc. If I had better local stores then I would definitely spend money there, but I do not and am kind of stuck buying 90% of my albums online.

Wow, I didn't realize that Pulp 45 was selling for so much! I was buying their stuff at that point too... I used to place orders with Action Records UK every couple weeks after payday. Mostly CD's, but I remember buying Silver Sun and Mansun and Oasis 45's on vinyl, I should have had them stick a copy of 'Common People' in the package as well. I still have the original (aperture) version of Different Class on vinyl, that I bought for 10 bucks. It sells for slightly higher now...

So true, that 'Different Class' can bring some money. I got myself a repress maybe 7 years ago that works just fine but I still (Obviously) am looking for the 'Common People' Thanks for watching!

Discogs, circling the bowl as severely as E-bay and Facebook Marketplace.

That could very well be true.

I bought that Beastie anthology back when it was released. I was shocked to see that 7 years later while in Tower Records in Times Square NYC, they still had several copies in stock for around $90 each. Because I have most of the BB catalog, I never play my copy. it's still in mint condition.

Again, you're just straight flexing on me, Darrell. You know that ain't nice. Thanks for watching, my friend.

That's why I made the videos, Rich. I would like to see what other people in the #vc have in their 'Impossibles" list. Be cool to see what you're after, too. As always, you're still one of my favorite channels and I appreciate what you do.

Hi Rich! This was very interesting. Love all the graphics you inject into this series. Talk about a comprehensive box set, that Jesus and Mary Chain thing is wild! So is the price! Yikes! $100 for a Pulp 12" single. They can keep it. I'm good with my original compact disc of "Different Class." I wasn't even aware Ian Astbury did any solo album. I saw The Cult 3 times over the years, most recently 4th row in Boston, summer /22. I caught a drumstick at that show! Black Rebel Motorcycle Club was the opener for that show!

I hear you, Mike. Some of these things are so ridiculous but I sure do love finding them on Discogs. I only ever came close to catching drumsticks at a Tool show in San Bernardino in 1995 when Danny Carey threw sticks into the crowd as my back was turned talking to a friend and he hit me right in the back of my head. Didn't really "catch" them, but it's a memory.

You and me both, my friend. If we both throw in $300, we can buy one and share custody! ;)

I love discogs, but people really are fleecing each other, driving vinyl prices up. Its shameful

I hear you, it's what keeps me from buying more regularly on Discogs but I'm still very happy to have a place to keep track of my records and get information that's new to me. There are plenty of shady-assed sellers, but I've been to some record stores lately that seem to use Discogs Mint for their prices.

I just found your channel. Great show. I've got a real laid back channel too, just a couple hundred subs. @MidFiMan - maybe we could eventually collaborate in some way.

Thanks for the kind words, I have a great time making these. I'll be checking out your channel and just send a line sometime on what you might have in mind for collaboration. 👍
