best means to improve to the upper blue ranks is learning matchups and frame data. Once you've become accustomed to the moves and how to punish them, you'll improve greatly without the need of cheesy tech, but you do need to incorporate more mid - low mix-ups to prevent the opponents from reading you. So essentially, focus on improving your fundamentals in both movement and punishes which includes learning frame data while also improving your optimal combo routes as well.
