A real civil engineer is taking on his Discord server in the Poly Bridge 2 RCE August Building Contest! Each month on my Discord server there are Poly Bridge 2 challenges where you get a chance to take on me, a real civil engineer, to see who can build the best bridge! This month's competitions are getting the lowest stress on a level, and completing a level to impress us! This video contains the results, my entries, and at the end there are the best fan art of the month. Thank you every for taking part!

Arglin, you did your best, but i'm gonna have to go with RCE's EXTREMELY MATURE design. jk, of course Arglin's is better, there's no way you can compete with such a ridiculously complex design.

It's honestly tough to choose which is more impressive. Yes, Arglin pushed the limits of the engine to move the vehicles in several interesting ways. But you kept it in budget and could run it on something less than a supercomputer. Voting for you would be a much easier choice if you had spent your budget on moving the vehicle in interesting ways, instead of on dicks. So if any of the runners up kept their bridges under budget, I vote for them. Failing that, whoever went over budget by the least.

I had made a comment on a previous video about using falling pieces as sort of fireworks so I gotta go with the firework p3nisis I guess... Something I never thought I would type out in my life. The contestant bridges were alright I guess. (Totally not amazing and nutty at the same time) Well, there's always next time to beat the discord madness, maybe. Are there any bridges in real life designed like the low-stress winner or would it not work in real life due to quirks of the game?

The game only works in two dimensions. In real life, you’d have to worry about it falling sideways as well. The game treats wires as much stronger than steel beams. In reality, support is much more effective then tension when it comes to reducing strain on the parts.

@@RealCivilEngineerGaming I Think I was too focussed on the "crossing cables". I had some designs with three "spikes" under the roads, but they were all way over budget. Maybe with double cables it could have worked. Anyway, that was a nice competition - and there were nice people on discord. :)

(unrelated to the video) today I decided to hop on TrailMakers, after an hour-ish of time spent on a ship, I got bored and asked my brother "Hey dude, do you think I should make a car or a plane in TrailMakers?" To which he jokingly replied "No." So I walked back to my room, and guess what I built. I spent the next 5 hours turning a giant NO into a planes . Believe it or not, it is actually better than some of my previous planes, and it was a fun challenge. Tldr: I made my dad's dream vehicle. Oh yeah, as much as I enjoyed watching a bunch of d*cks fly out of the sky, I think arglen won this one (I'm pretty sure I misspelled arglen, and I am sorry if that is the case)

I cheated technically "in-game" (as in the ! symbol pops up detecting I'm using more budget than given), but the competition rules actually allowed unlimited budget, sourcing from LivelyEngineer who was the creator of the level/competition.

If you can't even see what is going on, I wouldn't really say it impressed me all that much... How can you even judge that if you can't even see what's happening? It's just a big clusterfuck. You should have limited it so that they had to work within the confines of making something that doesn't blow up your computer and we can see what's going on and it's creative. Not just a clusterfuck that the majority of people can't even run on their PCs.

Actually no. Sourcing from LivelyEngineer who created this level and assisted RCE in making the competition, you are allowed to use unlimited budget. He just had no idea anyone would've needed more than one and a half million budget.
