You know what extra I love about you? (Apart from Rose, Steve, your art supplies, tips and tricks? (As if that wasn’t a lot already!) But, it’s the fact that you don’t yell or scream in your videos so I can leave you on during the night and lull myself to sleep dreaming of colouring supplies…. and not wake up in a sweat because I was jolted out of REM sleep by a loud jarring noise! 🤗🤗🤗 I really appreciate that 😂
Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for the coloring pages! And I love the tip of using a ruler! Question: what do you use to cut your rulers to make them smaller for traveling?
Helpful tip. My problem is trying to see how the shadows are added to animals to delineate body parts. For example, with a deer I see colorists add dark shading around the upper legs to show you where the leg is attached to the body and the curve of that area if the animal is moving. I can't figure out how you know how to place that. Lots of other examples. I'm searching for a video somewhere.
Jennifer, Happy Thanksgiving to you, your wonderful hubby, children, and all your loved ones. Thank you for all the joy you give. Many blessings to you and yours!
I think I finally get it. I watched this video 12 times!! I'd like to make a couple of comments on my lesson #4 in the academy workshop. It took me a long time to complete rhe picture of the beautiful flowers in the vase. I was constantly stopping it so I could catch up. The initial picture is lovely but then you started adding on and on which I personally thought detracted from the picture. (i.e. background 2 shades of gray putting on the the yellow borde0r. What I learned from this is exactly what you have said frequently "have fun" there is no written law for color selection and technique. I will never be like you and the other professional artist here however, I'm glad I joined the academy It is truly a learning, hands on experience. You are wonderful and patient and I love all of the videos I have seen I strongly encourage everyone to join the academy and "have fun" My picture turned out ok. Thanks again.
Oh my gosh. What a brilliant tip. I'm a beginner and just starting my journey as a colorist. I haven't spent too much time worrying about light sources because I don't want to get overwhelmed but I do understand the basics of it 😊 This is a really great little tip and I'm definitely going to be ordering a clear ruler. 😊
I have been following the lighting fast track on Patreon, and it is fantastic. For the first time I feel as if I understand not only how to show where the light is but also how to shade my work and make it look 3d instead of flat. I highly recommend this course to anyone who is struggling the way I was. Also I love Rose.. I was part of the Maltese rescue in Oregon for many years
