New art supplies! Woohoo! Royal Talens have this new line of Pantone markers so I had to get some test out. I’ve got some other great new art materials plus old favourites in new colours and some restocks.

I've seen the Pantone RT markers on Instagram, but don't know if I want to try another marker right now 😅 and they are a bit pricey! Trying to restrain myself on impulse art hauls this year 😬 anyways always like your videos and art material's reviews Kat!

TBH, even though they are nice markers, I wouldn't rush to buy them. I can see they'd be really handy if you were a professional illustrator but otherwise, the price is offputting.

I bought copic markers in Tokyo cost about 260 yen from TOkyu hands in Ginza which is £1.40 in GBP [2.66 AUD] in UK they selll nearly £11 per marker [23 AUD] love them , so expensive. At college I had pantone markers lasted so long

@@sketchingtheworldwithkat I studied graphic design at the pantones are great for mock ups for design used it with layout paper. Glasgow we have a small indie artshop and one chain art store (Cas Arts) which is expensive, I use a posca sometimes roughly create block clour then other media draw say with black pens the building outline on it, quite interesting look . Im like yourself you cant resist walking into art store end up buying something didnt need, roll on Japan 2025 trip!

The Pantone markers came in the December upcrate box. I have really enjoyed them, but the one thing that's not so great about them is that they are streaky. If used for a background colour, every line is going to show. For me, I think I would choose a different marker if I was really into markers. These are extraordinarily expensive (even in Germany) and unless you have a real need to be using the exact Pantone colour then it's not worth it. Plus is it still the same Pantone colour if you do two or 3 layers and darken it up?? 🤔???
