Me being jealous of all the artists with all their art supplies because I'm broke and NO WAY my parents will buy em for me: *sobs* BUT! I'm glad you're liking them! I once bought 1 single copic marker (it was like on show case) and I LOVED IT.
Same for me... But I found some nice water based markers that are dual tipped. I can use one side for lines and the other for coloring. They're pretty cheap too. Was planning to ask my mom soon.
I have over 250 alcohol brush markers and they are so much fun to use and yes the colors sometimes dont match, I go mostly for copic and tombow inks because they are pretty good. But having a sketchbook of color coded marker colors will help out a lot if you have been using several brands. Try that it might help
@𝕄𝕠𝕔𝕙𝕚 maybe because it's darker for a pastel range, so they called it a dark color. Also, these were probably made in China, so names might have gotten mistranslated.
I have an idea that I haven’t done yet but also haven’t heard anyone suggest. Swatching out the colors then cut them in a shape that would match the ends of the caps, write the number, and then glue them on both caps of each pen. This way your swatch is directly on the cap and you don’t have to refer to your swatch sheet every time you need to choose a color.
Also I have an explanation on the behalf of Ohuhu for the Dark Violet light lol🤣 that maybe the people who were naming the colours were not fluent in English and therefore thought to name a colour on the darker end of the lighter spectrum of violet like this. (I hope this makes sense)
"If it’s dark ... than HOW the heCK is it light ??" Honey that’s the markers logical WE human don’t need to understand Edit : Thanks for all the like this is my most liked comment so yeah 😭💕
I think maybe it's a dark violet light🕯️ like the light to see in the dark and those lights no matter if it's a dark colour they still look like a light colour (My English is not good but still hope you understood my point 💀)
I actually been doing professional art with Copic alcohol markers for year, I always suggest having a spare piece of paper with you to test the colors and blending before you use it.
Thank you for highlighting this issue. As a colorblind artist, I rely on the names being accurate to the color and it gets very overwhelming having to remember and chart up what colors are called what by which brands.
My problem is with alcohol markers (Which I got about 2 days ago) Is that It bleeds through my paper and that it has a strong alcohol smell😢 but I am absolutely Obsessed with these Ohuhu markers that I got❤️❤️
That brand is still my fav! 😢 I misplaces mine and refuse to color without them but I am starting to lose hope they were not stolen by a house guest last year! 😢
Alcohol markers use dyes but they apparently have to put pigments in the caps so they don’t match. Plus the other stuff they mix in the caps throws the colours off too
1st: Copic is pretty accurate. 2nd: The caps show the most layered version of the colour. Layer the exact same colozr until it doesn't darken anymore and it will be much, much more accurate.
that first issue is a mood even in colored pencils.. like, I have 3 blues, labelled 346,347, and 348, yet '46 and '47 look the same and '48 seems to have taken the saturation that '47 needed..
Relatable, my sister bought alcohol markers for my birthday, but I don’t think the brand is very good. I was drawing something today, but I noticed that I have 5 markers that are all called ‘’Warm grey’’ I wanted to draw with them because I needed a grey marker. But when I opened it, the marker was PINK for some reason. I checked the other 4,but no. The other 4 were also pink.
That's the problem with cheap markers. I had a copic knockoff and the ink for the light violet is actually dark which contradicts the colour indicator. There's not much problems with copic, though. Mine are quite accurate.
Most art supplies have the packaging vs product colour problem because it’s almost impossible to achieve the same pigmentation from art supplies as you would from resin plastic
This is so true, I also have alcohol markers and it doesn't really make sense... But they really make my arts very neat so I don't have to complain a lot xd
I think violet light refers to literal light, as in ultraviolet. It’s supposed to mean a darker shade of violet on the light spectrum, but it just ends up being confusing.
This just needed to be done by someone the colors never match the caps… and I thought exactly the same about the “dark violet light” but I like the markers tho
Ohuhu explained that caps dont match because resin (what the caps are made of) and ink are such different materials. resin just cant function that way, which is why they give us swatch sheets.
Dark Violet Light made me burst out laughing! I've been using a marker called Dark Blue Light for almost a decade and it's a light Periwinkle/lavendar tone. I've had that same thought for years "Dark....light???" Lmfao, these markers
Frrrr i love how they look, but i have over 200 markers and 2 FULL pages of a BIG sketchbook JUST with swatches and i rarely even use them anymore cus my adhd wount let me juggle the swatch pages, the 3 boxes of markers, AND the mixing of colors anymore, it's just too much. I miss when i only has like 15 markers... yeah the caps still didnt match but i at least didnt have to SWIM in markers for 15 minutes to find one JUST to try it out and realize it doesnt look the same in the paper im using as it does in the swatch anyways 😭
Dark blue light: Имеется ввиду темный, приглушённый синий оттенок. Потом его осветлили, поэтому в названии присутствует слово "light". Надеюсь, объяснила. CLICK TRANSLATE
Plot twist - The colors will also change depending on what type of paper you use! Marker paper, watercolor, mixed media, velium, bristol, cartridge, pastel, etc. It also can change depending on what the exact color the paper is. Light cream paper that almost looks white will render a different shade marker vs completely white paper!
I think what they meant by the ''dark" pastel was of the uh what do you call this , lets just say opacity it says dark because the pastel is more of a hot pink hot yelloe etc.
What I do when I get alcohol markers is that I mark a paper of the color from the marker and then I tape it on the side of the marker so instead of me looking at the cap of what color I want to use, I look to the side so I can see what it would look like on paper. I still don’t usually use alcohol markers because I don’t have the right paper to use it for but it’s still a nice thing I do to help me when I use them often.
My cousin's mom has tons of alcohol markers and I've been scammed by the color several times and had to redo so much art. I swear I probably need to list nearly hundreds of markers with their real colors...
