Silver Springs State Park is about 9 miles off Interstate 75 near Ocala/Gainesville. It was Florida's original tourist attraction and is surprisingly a good alternative to Disney World. If you're anywhere in this area about 90 minutes north of Orlando, you owe it to yourself to see this natural wonder. Stay to the end of the video to see the famous Glass Bottom Boat ride as well. It's $2 per person to enter the park - that's right, $2. $15 more for the boat ride. Kayak and canoe rentals are also available. They have plans to open a swimming area, and the water is incredible, but there are a few alligators, too, to make it interesting. #SilverSprings #disney #Florida #ocala #kayak #canoe

This place is well worth stopping by for a few hours if you’re traveling on interstate 75 through Florida.

Awesome. I've never been to Silver Springs but I remember my mother talking about visiting there once. Probably in the 60s. Makes me feel nostalgic. I live in NE GA. Hopefully I'll go there next time I come down to Florida. I hear the springs aren't what they use to be. the water isn't as clear and not as much water. Is this true? They were saying due to development that has occured over the years. Fertilizers washing in and causing algae blooms and ranches taking water from the springs. Not sure how true it is. This video looks aweome to me though.

@@craig9843 the water is very clear and there’s plenty of it. The place is very well preserved.
