In this video, we explore the pros and cons of living in Salt Lake City Utah. Whether you're considering a move or just curious about the area, we've got you covered with a comprehensive overview. I'll cover the best and worst aspects of living in Salt Lake City Utah, and at the end I'll cover the NUMBER ONE CONERN people have about moving to Salt Lake City.
Salt Lake City boasts a robust job market with opportunities in tech, healthcare, and finance. Access to stunning national parks like Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Arches makes it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. For families, the city offers a plethora of activities, from the Hogle Zoo to numerous parks and recreation centers. Food lovers will appreciate the diverse restaurant scene, offering a variety of dining options from local favorites to international cuisine. The education system in Salt Lake City is solid, with reputable schools and universities contributing to a well-rounded community.
However, living in Salt Lake City comes with its challenges. Commuting can be tough due to heavy traffic on I-15, especially during peak hours. Winters are intense, with significant snowfall and cold temperatures. Public transportation options are limited, making a car necessary for most residents. While the city has many strengths, it has less cultural diversity compared to other major metropolitan areas. Additionally, housing costs have risen significantly, making it more expensive to buy a home.
A unique aspect of Salt Lake City is the presence of the LDS Church. This can be both a significant pro and con. The church creates a strong community feel and offers extensive resources, but it can also impact the cultural dynamics of the city.

Bro! Red Iguana blows. I am Mexican and from Los Angeles. That’s low quality. The carne asada is NY Steak. That should tell you everything you need to know. And, the salsa tastes like tomato sauce out of the can. There are better Mexican restaurants but still not up to par with Mexican food you would get from other major cities. The food in SLC actually isn’t that good. A lot of restaurants, yes, but the diversity hasn’t quite infiltrated the restaurants yet. The food is made to fit the clientele, which let’s be honest, is white.

HATE and I was born here and raised LDS!!! Nothing worse than being non-LDS and living in Utah. We have bad liquor laws and some really crazy ones too. But religious discrimination is alive and well in Utah, in fact a small town Utah had to pay a settlement to a man who applied as a police chief there. He was the only qualified person for the job and he did not get the job because he was NOT LDS. We the taxpayers paid him #80K for that. The LDS church was fined by the IRS for filing fraudulent tax returns going all the way back to 1995. $5 million per year was the fine and the faithful don't see the corruption all while everyone else does. Stay away from Utah, its a nice place to visit but the people are complete shite.

Perhaps anecdotal but I haven’t had an issue. I’ve been in the state for 2 years, haven’t encountered any jerks and haven’t been declined job opportunities because I am non-LDS.
