Great video as I luuuuuuv corydoras. I have black polished gravel so their barbels aren't harmed, but my next tank with be smooth pebbles and sand, because it's going to be a 32g furcata species only tank...well I'll have corys,nerites, and a clown pleco too. I'm hoping to breed for the first time besides guppies and white clouds.

Is that your fluval flex your converting?
@FishRfun

@Aquadiction oh no...when I move in to the new place with my friend hopefully in April, I'm buying a 32g fluval flex because its long and I figured furcatas would appreciate the extra swimming space

I tried to contact you on your website but the webpage failed. You've misidentified a species on your website. You currently have a picture of Ampullaceana balthica representing Lymnaea stagnalis.

I'd recommend a finer substrate than that black stuff in the video. They love sifting through finer sands, I switched mine out from a coarser grained one recently and their behaviours and general health seems to have improved. They like blackwater too.

Have to agree although this was sold as ‘black sand’ but on close inspection I would guess it’s block rock grind of some sort! Technically this aquarium is just setup for filming and not their long time home but even before we didn’t keep them on sand so need to practice what we preach!! We are in the process of rebuilding our fishroom from the ground up and will be combining all our Corydoras into a single 450 lt with natural sand as what you’re advocating is def 💯 correct 👍 Thanks for the comment buddy

Are the vulcano stones good for them?
@rewild6134
@rewild6134 5 месяцев назад
@ofeliateodor3122 Most volcanic rock sold in the aquarium trade is quite rough and sharp unless it's sufficient weathered. I'd stick with rounded sands, river worn pebbles/rocks and appropriate botanicals.

Never heard of those kind of corydoras, they are pretty cool looking.

That’s for the comment, really? They are one of the most popular and featured Corydoras on RU-vid, but i guess it depends what channels you watch! But that’s great to know as in general we try to feature species that people don’t know about to raise awareness of them so that’s great to know we brought attention of them to someone 👌👍👍👍! Thanks for taking the time to comment and share that!

Sterba's corys are one of my favorite fish to watch. My group of 7 apparently laid eggs on some plants that I transferred to another tank and I now have 2 small Sterba's corys in that tank - they hang with my 10 Black Venezuelan corys. Watching to see how long it takes for the gold to show up on fins. The Sterba's produce eggs fairly often in my 75g tank but there's never any left by the next morning. Everybody loves some fresh egg snacks.

We haven't had any luck getting ours to breed yet, could be we are getting up to late to catch them before they gobble them up haha! Thanks for the comment and sharing your experience with then Vicky :)

These are beautiful 😻. They are so social. I need to put my corys in a soft sand bottomed tank. These corys you showcased are truly beautiful.
