Welcome to the world of Endlers, Danios, Rasbora, Barbs, Rainbowfish, Snails, and Shrimp! 🐟 If you find joy in watching fellow aquarium enthusiasts as they explore the ups and downs of fishkeeping, you're in the right place.
With big dreams and even bigger fish tanks, we're on a mission to keep, breed (or at least try to!), and document every fish in the aquarium hobby during our lifetimes. It's a tall order, but hey, we've got high hopes and fins crossed. Join us on this exciting adventure, and let's make a splash together! 😊
That's a super old video when we were learning I guess, all our old videos are terrible IMO its only our last few videos I think we have raised the bar on bud (check out our latest video and give us some feedback?)
So some colour variations of already mentioned apistos "made the cut" but not the Borelii Opal nor the Viejita (the 2 kind of apistos I enjoy keeping)?
Do you know where I can find some females? I live in the California area and I have one male cobra Endler who had all his friends die so now I want to breed him but I don’t want to use guppy’s as a substitute because I want to keep the future generation small so they won’t eat my shrimps in my tank alot
Have you ever heard of Adrian Hernandez from swamp river aquatics in the USA? He is bar none the world leader in endler strains, many of the strains found in the hobby were developed by him and or collected from the wild and maintained by him for 30 plus years now This is his Facebook page you can try contacting him on facebook.com/share/janZoFPAWEBmNjhs/?mibextid=LQQJ4d He does pairs/trios of Enders at very low prices for the quality and ships all over the usa, hope that helps buddy?!
The snow white guppy has both yellow and red gene but they are both silenced by 2 gene one that lows the appearance of iridescent spots ( the red one) and the other one which act like a sort of eraser, make the melanoid scale disappear which is basic erasing the dirty black spots on the whole body. So searching for a dotted guppy with a snow white guppy is a chance over a milion, also because the metallic gene of the snow white does mess with other common genes such as half black or the ones for the tail shape.
Hey I really miss these endler x guppy crosses videos you used to do. Hopefully you can still make more of these videos going forward as there's so MANY colors of guppies out there the crosses you can do in the future are endless!!!!! Please resume these endler x guppy videos
Thanks for saying that it means a lot, these videos were received really very badly for some reason (most people only watched 20% then clicked off) I THOUGHT they would have been pretty interesting but sadly this wasn't the case! Have an update on one of the crosses coming up next week and will have a look around for some good quality guppies to cross with our Steack endlers, ill try and separate out some female fry for it! Would like to try pingu or Japan blue guppies! Bear with us, thanks again it means a lot :)!
Terrific list however #25 Red Nose Shrimp or Pinocchio Shrimp (Caridina gracilirostris) are brackish shrimp for anyone getting their hopes up on that one!
Just added a lovely female guppie to my endlers, hoping they make some super strong & stunning babies 🤞🏻 (Also going for connelly breeding in community tank) Amazing results you have here! (I also have a few experiments to try, in making them more blue, can share my research if you're interested in how i may go about this) Great content!
You can find more detailed information about the Starlight Bristlenose Pleco on our website here aquadiction.world/species-spotlight/starlight-bristlenose-plecostomus/ Thanks for watching :)
I started my first fishtank a little over a year ago and these were one if the first fish I bought. I'm starting to see the Females get thicker and sometimes they all go crazy around the tank but no breeding thus far. Hopefully they will breed in the near future so I'll have even more of them.
My zebra catfish eggs hatched Sunday, i got 4 little ones swimming around, it was my first time i got them in a breeder net with some plants and i got the internal filter blowing slightly on the net. Awesome video, i got to see the Cory’s lay eggs in the community tank but it was hard to collect them all.
Sweet!! Is that the Zebra Corydoras, you said catfish, just to clarify zebra Corydoras buddy?? The insanely prised ones? In which case AMAZING!!! That's super exciting, well well worth breeding, very jelly bro :)
@@Aquadiction thank you, yeah zebra corydoras i added them to my 75 gallon about a year ago i just recently got into the hobby and i have them and Dalmatian Molly’s are breeding alot i had two batches i had to get rid of some i dont have extra room for them.
@ronaldmagno5594 wow that’s really great news then…. they go for about £150 each in the uk when they are available (next to never) (where are you from?) you obviously have the right water conditions for them! Def something you should focus on, I’d remove everything else from the aquarium and completely concentrate on them if I were you as there is some good money to be made from them as well as helping increasing numbers in the hobby in general, double win!! 👍👍👍
@@Aquadiction im from the northeastern United states, we have all seasons and i stated a koi pond about 2 years ago, i still got all of them and i use the pond water yearly and add it to the aquarium instead of doing water changes all the time. With a canister filter with uv and an internal filter also with a uv and nothing but live plants and drift wood and i also use a under gravel filter with a 4 part aerator
@@Aquadiction i have a small question , i still have the cory fry in a breeder net how old would they have to be to go into a 10 gallon with just a couple plants and no other fish with them? I know they need to come up to surface for air every once in a while.
We don't have these anymore but was considering getting them again the other day for a hallway aquarium that doesn't need heating funny enough. They did really well but only live a couple years sadly!
Are they something you think you would keep when you get setup again? Def a bullet proof fish, infact the most hardy fish we have ever kept, a bit prone to worms but other than that its almost impossible to go wrong with Endlers!
@Aquadiction it's possible if I do something like a 20 long. They seem like they'd look good with a background of green ferns, anubias and crypts maybe some jungle val in the back and on the sides with some stones and driftwood in the middle to keep the jungle val under control. And a black background. I can see thar looking pretty good. I really do have my heart set on a few sunset honey guaramis as well
I"m new to gloFish and HOW are there Pink and Yellow Glow Danios?! Those two colors aren't on the GloFishwebsite. How did we get these two colors, Pink and Yellow. Did GloFish make colors that aren't released in the USA? Or how were they selectively bred to make those colors from the existing 5 on the website?
@Aquadiction That made me think of the Cardinal tetra. I don't remember how long ago when I noticed, but something didn't look right when I got some from the lfs. I think the blue didn't go as far back. I later had seen an article saying what and where in the river system they came from.
Not really found that but it’s very dependent on what you keep with them, started keeping them with other barbs and it happened but currently in their own aquarium and no rips, shredded tails! So can def see why you would comment that but in our experience it’s down to tank mates bud! Do appreciate the comment and experience ❤️
Iridescent, the color to name then perhaps? Still beautiful pearlescent types! You mean Forest Guppy 😂😂😂 haha great reference 1k a fish?! Psshhtt dream on 😂 - ahh you're a fellow Brit (assuming from the currency Pounds you mentioned!) Tea & Crumpets unite
Have you tried online? Where are you from? Some people don't like to buy live fish online though which I totally understand if your of that mindset, can be hot or miss?!
Oh wow you have commented on lots of our ender/guppy breeding videos, firstly want to say, really do appreciate that, some of these are so old now and tot cringe fest for us to look back but this really does mean a lot! So I have an update video on one of the crosses ive been meaning to post for 6 weeks now but this has prompted me to get that done in the next few days, appreciate you buddy, sincerely:)
@Aquadiction haha yes indeed i have, recently started up a community tank, that so far has neon tetras & endlers, so ive been selecting about 3 endlers a month so far to start my own experiments with Yellow Cobras, Peacock's & Tigers, hoping to make some really amazing looking endlers! You're the only channel that has actually done this as a topic, with before & after results etc, very handy I'm not sure if you've done already, but peramiters of your water for the selective breeding, would also be phenomenal data! Haha we all start somewhere & having "cringe" in the past, is a learning curve! I personally laugh when you showcase the father & mother image, like they're cold-blooded murderers on death row 🤣 especially with the "BOOM" when the images are presented, makes me laugh, every time. 😂 Excellent! I cant wait to see the new content then! Anything to do with experiments, im basically on board 😂 especially if it's to do with creating new strains/species i was doing the same with Neocaridina shrimp a few years back, some seriously amazing results came through, then i became homeless 😂 Got new place now & back on the Neocaridina Shrimp breeding & now Endlers :p (Always open for more, of course, a science enthusiasts hunger, is never fully satisfied) 😂 Never stop making these types of content! Still have many more of your videos to watch, only started yesterday i think 😂 Dont thank me, i simply just enjoy learning & your content was exactly what i was searching for, so thank you & your misses (i assume?) :D 🐠
@@ThePOSM Haha, we ditched the old Boom a while back, so many things on our older videos we wish we could edit out but try and forget they exist, surprised they still get traffic but the Endler cross videos never did very well for us for some reason, very low watch time, which surprised me as I thought it might have been quietly successful, nevermind lol Our water params must admit we hardly ever test any of our aquariums unless a fish is looking off in some way; tap water PH is 7.8, so pretty high; I know that much, tap water also comes out pretty high in nitrates, so we are one of them crazy fishkeepers that hardly ever do any sort of water changes, just top off! Sorry to hear about your homeless stint, been there myself as a 17 year old for a while, something that always live with you! Are you planning on breeding to sell the shrimp/endlers or just for fun? Incase you didn't see it, consider checking out our website here aquadiction.world/ this is where we put the majority of our time, upto over 1k different fish species over 6-7 years of building it :)
@Aquadiction ahaha awh, was like a 90s detective show 😂 Ahh you just havent reached the right audience for the breeders yet is all im sure Wow yea 7.8 is slightly high, lime stone, crushed shells/coral, dolomite sand etc can help with this Yea too many changes are baaad Awh yea it happens a lot to people, gald sorted now mate! Hopefully for profit, but have to sell as collection only i guess sadly, so fun for now haha Il check the site out! Wow you 2 been working hard haha!
They're just so darn cute! I've got Venezuelans who also have fun personalities. The oldest & largest one does his greeting dance, front & center every day. - I think it's just for fun, because I don't immediately feed them when I go into the room. I do chores first, let the dust settle & then feed them. He's just a friendly little guy who will let me handle him on occasion too. ^^
Corydoras really do have some great personalities, we have around 12 types currently and all are super special in their own way :)! Thanks for sharing your experience, (sorry for the delay been super busy)
Did you see the link in the post? We included full details on every species on our website as supplementary material rather than bog the video down, hope that helps
We should have made it more obvious TBH so we just pinned it as the first comment, hope that helps! (in recent videos of this sort we have started including QR codes to take you directly to the species page)
@@Aquadiction it was funny for sure just when I was trying to pay attention to what you were saying it would pop up sometimes over your voice so it was distracting to me meant no disrespect my ADD can’t keep up haha 😂
