Ive never seen Young Winston. Loved your biggest waterfall vid. Will have to dig Young Winston out! These old railway lines do make for great hiking routes now, this one is spectacular and commands great views. Cracking landscape shots. Must be amazing for all enthusiasts to see this section of railway in colour. Fascinating history about Churchill too, he did well to evade capture. Love the remains of the old bridges, more cracking shots! Look at all that coal, you could sell that! Epic aerial finish ❤

We enjoyed your hike along the rail line used in the movie. Haven't ever watched Young Winston. We may need to correct that soon. Beautiful area! Enjoyed the way you edited clips from the movie into your video. I don't know how to do that. Our video tomorrow is where they filmed The Bagdad Café" and I wanted to. Beautiful stroll filled with information. Interesting about the coal there. Lovely views from above! Thanks for bringing us along, Phil.

Hi Phil! Great detective work! 👍 How wonderful that the film contains footage of the now dismantled railway. I think it's great that they convert the old railway lines to public footpaths. We have several of those in Norfolk. Loved this video, Phil! So interesting and so beautifully filmed ❤

Such a great idea for a video Phil and that's a stunning area . Love the sidings / walls of the old railway . Looks so hot there though to do all of the walking and then going back on yourself ! The old station must have been great to see after you watching the film , no wonder you felt like you were in the film😃 Thai old pub photo was great too . Interesting that the railway and the cottages were built for the quarry. Very cute sheep! The walk you did was great and so was that old weighing bridge . And as always the drone footage was so good 👍~ Anna

This was absolutely fascinating Phil. Brilliant how you linked the filming locations with what it looks like now. You’re right that in that amazing scenery that railway would probably be a brilliant tourist attraction today. Fantastic footage and research - loved the old clips - and the black gold finds. Just great - we’re defo coming down to the Brecon’s in the van!! You keep selling that area to us more and more. Have a good one mate.

My father was one of a few extras hired in Wales who appeared in the film. He was one of the Boers moving the cannon, and also played a British soldier amongst those on the train.

Hi Phil, haha I thought I was watching the wrong channel. Nice transition right after the horses left 4:10 brilliant! OMG where is your sandwich? 5:52 🥪 I like the content searching the footsteps of Churchill. How did you find the location you watched in the movie to start with ? I didn't know nothing about PPL searching movie locations after we hiked up the Bridal Veil Fall, but there are a lot of YTbers. hahaha wow you discovered black shiny coals along the road 13:38 Now I am imagining the train running up and down and those coals were falling off form the train... A tunnel, OMG Phi more discovery 14:30 Gorgeous bird-eye flight is invite me to watch that old movie. I hope I can find online, ,Amazon Prime? What's the great comparison between the film and your investigation! Well Done, Phil. Superior!!!

This just appeared on my homepage 8 months after upload- RU-vid is quite slow at times. Fascinating to see the course of the line. As you showed in the video, the scenery is spectacular, far better than the Settle and Carlisle line (IMO) so it is such a pity that it was closed. The station shown was originally named "Penwyllt" but later renamed "Craig-y-Nos" in honour of the opera singer Madam Adelina Patti who lived nearby in Craig-y-Nos Castle. I was on the film set during filming as part of the loco support crew, and even did some of the loco firing on the very last run up from Coelbren- great fun. Some of the photos that I took at the time can be seen at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YWiWJeoXLGY.html . Some of the movie filming actually took place during rain, but somehow, the filters attached to the camera were able to mitigate this.

Wow that’s fascinating. That must have been so interesting to see. The track carried on and on but I didn’t have time to see it all. I was amazed to see how much of it was still there. I filmed more but obviously had to cut it out. I’ll go back there this year and do a bit more of it. I’ll check out your channel now for those pictures 👍 Thank you
