I had a powerfly for a couple days and when I compare it with my friends Marlin plus 6 i prefer the marlin+. The awesome thing was trek is they have a 30 day return policy so i ordered a Marlin +. The powefly seems heavier and less nimble. Also the battery rattles on hard trails. Marlin + is less noisy as well. The price point is so close so I recommend test riding both if you can before deciding.

I am 63 years old and my Powerfly is my daily commuter (30km) and week-end fun. The Bosch CX has changed my biking experience. I am looking forward to trying out the Marlin in future. Thanks for the video.

@@goodluckchrisclark I agree. I only sure turbo on the steepest of uphills, usually cycling on economy or touring.

that's awesome i just heard about it. I ride the 2021 marlin 5 it's fully upgraded. This can be a good entry lvl to ride an ebike.

These are now available in the UK, im considering this for my commute to work 30 mile round journey hilly at times you think this could be the right bike for me. I think its a beauty

From the description and experience with other models/battery and motors 30 mile round trip should be no issue as long as your not always running max assist, then it might get tight...

I have a Marlin 7 that I have added a mid drive kit to. I think Trek missed the mark on this one. The marlin sells often as a commuter bike as well as a entry mountain bike. Most, in the United States, that would use this as a commuter will probably pass on this one because of the class 1 designation. That is a shame.

The only problem on this bike is a fork 120 mm RockShox Recon on rocky and long downhill you will feel every single bump on your hands. I looking to upgrade it to RockShox Pyke Ultimate 140 mm travel.

Definitely a budget fork, the Pyke is fantastic!
