Haha “new life policy”. I second this!.. maybe…. I don’t know, I don’t like to be viewed as a follower. But, well, I follow both Wilonas Cave and Man Alone. And many people follow a religion or a political party or even a friend through a crowd at a Slayer concert. Ok. I feel better about it now. Thank you 🙏🏼
Instead of stapling it you can put it into a three-ring binder and add as many pages of notes that you want. This looks great, thanks for putting it together.
Thanks for including a tarot section! I think they are SORELY underused as a game master emulator tool. I think that section alone is well worth the price of your guide. 🌞☀
I was intrigued by what you were saying about using this and the discovery section to work through pre-made adventure modules to avoid just knowing ahead of time spoiler content. Would be curious to see that in action!
@@cybrim1 i’m not too certain yet. I think it updates every day or something like that but it probably is a lot for the first day since I got up into the top 3. They keep their algorithm a secret, but I’m pretty certain it’s a certain amount of sales for a certain amount of duration, so as long as you keep sales up per week, you’ll continue to be in the top.
@@wilonascave thank you for sharing it. I really enjoyed Smurfs(original) but mine was Thundaar. I played many days either in our house or in the woods with all of my toys back then. Which included Muscles, Legos, and any action figures I had. A mix of all the genres was had. Also, I just received my updated Hero Quest game. Looking forward to cracking it open with my daughter. She loves when we play Massive Darkness but it’s so much prep.
@@SentientSoup all I did was printed double-sided printing, cut it to shape and stapled. sometime in the future I’m going to try to make a soft cover version, hopefully.
The sun! Excited to deep dive into your channel! Been trial and erroring my way through my first few weeks of solo ttrpg and can't believe I. Finally finding this in my 30s! Used to make adventures on paper as a kid without knowing about d and d or table top games or I guess role playing in general! Childhood dreams coming true. Amazing work!
What a wonderful video. Thanks for sharing with us about how your system works. I cannot wait to try this with my own rpg campaigns. Thank you and again thank you!
The sun. Love the solo guide book, purchased it on drivethrough. Also snagged LotR Tarot, not into that for the traditional tarot, but for a rpg guide it looks like a really cool random generator.
Thanks for link to your shop on DTRPG. Your games sound very cool, i will definitely buy. Ive got a stack of stuff in my cart on DTR , but i will go ahead and get yours. I dont get into too many of the game systems, usually only the independent maker ones, because i just can't focus or feel like playing things as i feel awful and fatigued most of the time. And lacking actual game playing space is a big restriction on getting to set up games. Maybe thats why i like these little solo rpgs ,they dont take up a lot of space. I really am intrigued for all your different genres of games you are releasing too. I have some cousins that are young and just getting into this type of stuff, they like the rpg type games,i may get one of these for them to try it out and see how they like it, as they work a lot and said they couldnt get time to get with a group, (their other uncle is a GM and actively runs games), so this way they could play their own personal game adventure.
@@d.aardent9382 I hope you and your family enjoys it! And I definitely agree with you, I like using things that don’t use a lot of ‘table real estate.’
Im sooo getting this!! The npc convo generator is essential as far as I can see and thats just a part of all the other good things in this book, amazing work dude, thanks 😊😊 Edit, I sooo did purchase this, very fair price 😂❤🎉
Loving the writing style and very clear short and sweet explanations. 😊 Will be printing it out as soon as I can. Need to cut up some A3 paper to get the correct grain direction for this as I will be using this book a lot. 😊
@@wilonascave Absolutely I will. 😊 Oh and I've seen that particular lord of the rings tarot card deck just recently (did not purchase it) but say there were a few others tarot decks with that same art style/illustration artist. They look really good.
@@carolinelabbott2451 that is one of the reasons why I bought the LotR deck (other than it is LotR) was due to its unique art. Haven’t seen another deck like it
Thank you! As for the other supplement (I'm assuming you are referring to my first D20 Series of Random Tables for Fantasy); after I take a bit of a break due to working on this book, I will continue to work on the Random Tables pdf. And of course, there will also be community updates and video updates.
This looks great but it's a shame not to have your fantastic artwork interwoven between the pages - been one of the highlights watching it unfold in your Hackleswell adventure journal and I think it deserves a spot here. 🙂
@@wilonascave That's great news - honestly, if I could draw like that I'd be very happy (as would my printer, if you used your work on the front cover ;) P.S. ☀
If you referring to when version 1.2 comes out, that’ll probably be very soon but as for ‘going to print’, I do not know an estimated timeframe for that
Thanks for making this! I’m obsessed with oracles and GMEs lately. You had me at verbs and nouns! 😊😊 I flew to purchase it! Can’t wait to read it and use it.
Wondering about this vs Mythic 2e. I've never solo-ed before with anything, and I was on the verge of purchasing Mythic 2e when I saw this vid. I see from some of your other vids that in the past I think you've referenced using Mythic, obviously since you designed this one it sounds like it will do everything needed (perhaps in a superior way), but for an utter ignorant newbie I'm wondering about how it compares.
I created this system and worked on it over years. This condensed version has goals of making it quick and easy for solo players (also GMs and writers) to use. That’s also why I included so many different things in this little booklet and there’s even more to it after I uploaded this video that you’ve watched. I just upgraded this booklet to v1.2 today as well Mythic is amazing in the way it can facilitate a chaotic adventure, aka an unpredictable adventure. Which is great for solo players, but my system as well can do that with the Oracle system that I’ve created.
@@wilonascave Originally I was thinking of picking up Mythic 2e and Sandbox Generator/Tome of Adventure Design (Revised), but now I'm thinking I can pick up Solo RPG GME and your D20 Random tables - Fantasy and fill mostly the same purposes (which is a big savings). If Solo RPG GME is less complicated to use and understand than Mythic2e, well that's a feature not a bug. :) As a virgin to solo, I prefer something more straightforward to learn, and this little gem looks pretty great.
I didn't really see any kind of story structure mechanics or guidelines for creating a narrative arc and moving the narrative towards a conclusion, what are your thoughts about this topic? It seems to be the most overlooked feature in most GME and the one I struggle with most.
I am going to run through the adventure that comes in the Warhammer fantasy role-play starter box set; demonstrating how to use this to play pre-written adventures. but if you’re new to solo, I definitely will play the open world or sandbox before I play a pre-written adventure.
Any of my Solo RPG GME books (Fantasy & Sci-Fi, thus far) can work with virtually any system of the same setting. So if you like playing a certain fantasy type RPG, you would use this book as a supplement to help play solo or help you as a GM to come up with things. I started using my books in my recent video to demonstrate how they work and will be using them in nearly every video going forward. Here is my recent video where I used it (keep in mind: If you want to watch the series from the beginning, I suggest watching Ep. 1) Face-to-Face with the Nightmare - Dragonbane Solo RPG ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QtxzAzzZdCs.html
@@shlamallama6433 it could…. But this version is purely fantasy. So there’s mentions of trolls, dragons, goblins, etc.. I have a sci-fi version. I’m working on a horror version and a general version. The general version will work with Avatar Legends. I’m pretty certain of that but I have yet to start making that one.
Oh btw, anyone have info or recommendations for good printers best for doing gaming related stuff like not only book pages, but printing game board tiles, tokens, standees, etc. My main gaming interest is fabricating old games from files that people have preserved and provided on different sites, like the old magazine games that you cut out if the pages, but i want to print out the parts and mount onto cardboard and do proper tokens, chits, cards tiles, etc. My inherited junk HP printer is terrible and having constant print ink cartridge defects and improper printing on paper leaving big empty spots randomly. So any suggestions on good printer to buy would be very appreciated I know i can also take files to a office supply store printers but unless its a big book pdf id rather try and print out stuff myself as im sure from what ive seen on BGG ,many of the game files will need some modifications and fussing with to get to come out right and match everything up properly.
So I picked it up last night, and this is LEGIT. I love that you have played solo (exclusively, mostly if I remember right) for so long because what you've produced here is great. It's useful stuff, well thought out, and well organized. I would pay 20-30 bucks for this in book form without thinking twice about it. You've got something really solid here, and @amanisalone is right. Anyone without this is suspect. I mean I'm just saying.
