I purchased a used Smooth Q and quite enjoy it. I wasn't aware the ZY Play app could do as much as you've highlighted. I'll be trying some of these things out. Thanks for the great information.
Any chance the iOS app could be updated to support File Sharing in iTunes? Copying files to the camera roll to get them off the phone feels like an unnecessary extra step.
I think something is up with my Smooth Q. I’ve had the follow speed at 10 for while now and it’s worked well. However the last few times I’ve used it, it seems to be panning faster without any settings changed. What’s wrong?
Is there any way to record the video to micro sd instead of my limited internal storage. ZY play seems to have no option to store video/photo to external storage in my phone???
I have received my Smooth 4 few days ago and installed the Zy Play for android on my Samsung Galaxy A50. All functions on the Smmoth 4 works perfectly accept that the recording quality of Zy Play is stuttering and very jittery, regardless of any resolution or setting. So much so that any recording is useless! I don't think it is the Samsung phone's fault because Open Camera and Cinema FV-5 both work perfectly! Did I miss something in the Zy Play setup?
@@rayl.7760 I've given up on their feeble camera app. Like many others, I've gone back to Open Camera (free) . If you investigate you'll find that it is considered one of the best if not the best camera app. It works very well. The Smooth 4 gimbal stabilization works very well with this app except that the controls are now useless. Maybe in the future they will update ? Even if the ZyPlay would have worked okay, it still leaves a lot to be desired.
Hi, I like to hold the Smooth-Q like a flash light rather than vertically. Is it possible to adjust the Full Follow mode to let me film straight forward while holding the Smooth-Q horizontally? Currently when I do this it only faces towards the ground and I'm only allowed to adjust the the roll on the camera using the joystick. I'd like to be able to adjust up and down.

Hello, there are some videos that wont save, it says failed to save, (error al guardar in spanish), some are long like 7 min, but others are under 2 minutes. Why on earth wont they save? i have PLENTY of storage space available.
Crane 3S And IPhone 8Plus. Running the latest frame update. My app looks old and plane compared to most video I’ve seen on RU-vid using the ZY play. How can I get all the cool functions on my app that you guys are using? Also there should be an ZY Play app tutorial class explaining step by step when it comes down to using Crane 3S on that app. All I get is a Sad Face Icon when I dial in my settings the wrong way. *How come my ZY Play app doesn't have any 60fps option?* I have a Zhiyun Smooth Q and am shooting with the Samsung Galaxy S8. The native camera software is able to shoot in 1080p 60fps, so why can't I find any 60 fps option on the ZY Play app (v1.8.7)?
Is there a way to use Zplay as remote control, and see the video being shooted, by the OTHER phone mounted on the gimbal. With Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal for example.
Yeah, you are right, it’s impossible to charge the phone when it’s in horizontal mode. But you can charge it in vertical mode by loosing the screw on the gimbal right behind the phone and adjusting it. Try it!
Yes, that’s true... but you can use an adapter that can take both a microphone and a charger.... though it’s not really advisable because it’s not safe and will consist of too many connections...so it’s better you charge the phone very well before you mount it on the gimbal and then you can connect a microphone to the phone. But an adapter is still required for new iPhone users.

I have a ZTE smartphone which is not supported by the Smooth Q app. Do you know if Filmic Pro will allow me to have all the functionality that the Smooth Q app offers? Otherwise, I'll have to return it. :-(
How many frames per second does the ZY Play app record during the default and slow motion modes? I’m using iOS on an iPhone 8+ with a Smooth 4 if this makes a difference.
Hi Jason, for Android does not appear some options as you show there in your video, I'm using Android version 7.1.1. I think it still has limitations and only works 100% on iOS, do you know when it will work completely on Android? We are frustrated with this. Thanks for sharing with us and good footage.

E esperemos que a zhiyun atualize a app zhiyun play para que fique com as mesmas funções que a app para ios. Para algumas funções que não estão presentes na zhiyun play, tenho usado a zhiyun assistant. And let's hope zhiyun updates the zhiyun play app so it has the same functions as the app for ios. For some functions that are not present in zhiyun play, I have used the zhiyun assistant.

I bought the zhiyun smooth-4 I use this device on my cell phone which is from the following manufacturer, Xiomi Mi9, but I can not record the videos in the following settings, (720 fps 60) - (1080p fps 60) and (4k fps 60 ) It only records the videos at 30fps. I really want to use this device but recording at 60fps. My phone is compatible with 60fps. What would be the solution to be recording at 60fps ???

I use a Smooth Q with a adaptor plate and a GoPro. When I record holding smooth Q handle vertically, the Gimbal's arm is in the picture! Is there a way to have the arm on the side facing you while you record so it's not in the picture?
Would like some assistance here please. I'm trying to film a subject in focus and a blurry background. I'm using an iPhone 7 but the wheel that controls the focus (i've made sure I'm in focus mode not zoom) does not seem to have any effect when filming. Am I doing some incorrect?
Hi Jason I'm looking for a way to use the gimbal with the iPhone camera app. Not the zhiyun app. The gimbal works but none of the Bluetooth option does. Is there a way to use this as a Bluetooth Selfie stick gimbal? (Lol)
Hello Jason, thanks for the clear lessons on how to use the ZYPlay app. However... i have seen several uservideo in which they use tracking mode (selecting a part of the screen and when the object movers, the gimbal will track it). How do i access /activate that function on my Galaxy S6 using the app? I see in your video in the lower left corner next to the filebrowser an icon, which is not there on my screen... i own the gimbal for just 2 days... slowly but surely learning to handle it to its full potential.
Very nifty video. It was fun and inspiring to watch. Full of info. I was kinda surprised that you glossed over the calibration part, but overall, I learned a lot. Too bad many of those features aren't yet implemented (or reliable) on Android, but I'm looking forward to that. I love my Smooth-Q, only had it for a week, and figuring it out. But even out of the box, my videos are so much better.
I LOVE THE SMOOTH 4 but my problem was there were no features on the andeoid that apple has. The tacking mode do not work properly work on android pleaae fix this Zhiyun wish you fix it...
Jason, why do I get bright red flashes on the footage when I edit with Adobe Premiere Elements 2019? When I tried to reverse a short clip every other frame was bright red and sometimes on regular forward footage.
Hi Jason, I own Samsung S8, when in recording mode, before I start recording, , I can see that camera focus properly on close and far objects, everything is ok. When I start recording video, focus stays in it's initial setting and even if I move to another object, closer or futher, focus is still frozen at where it was when recording started. This is very frustrating!!! and to be honest this is main reason I need to return my Smooth-3 to the seller. Is there a away to fix it?

Hi @zhiyun-tech, the app for Android has a lot of bugs. THE most annoying is that after several seconds after a hit record button, the app crush or loose connection. I used on my test OnePlus 5T and HTC M7. The ZY Play reacted the same. Can you do something to fix that. If you look in Google Play, the app has 2,2 stars rate, and that tells everithyng about the functionality of ZY Play. PS 1080p 60fps is not available, why do you advertised it? Please do something to please your customers. Thank you.
Hi Zhiyun! Gimbal is the best. I really like it. But I give it only 8/10. To 10/10 there is one more function that you should provide: Smooth Q buttons (zoom, changing cameras, record start/stop button) should work in other apps like facebook, instagram. There is a function in Instagram like Stories. When I want to publish something to my story using your gimbal, I need to manual start/stop recording using my phone, not dedicated record start/top button on gimbal.

Very good video, thank you. At 7:50 into the video you mention the preset movement parameters, and mention going into "application mode". I cannot find this option in my app. Perhaps it is because I am using Android (?). There is no scene mode or application mode under 'PTZ'. Anyway, I was wondering if you could read what the numbers are for "bicycle". I am actually trying to use the gymbal for running (very fast running). I have tried increasing the degrees/sec number to 120 or so but it makes no difference in speed. Which makes me wonder what the maximum speed actually is. Perhaps 120 is too high. Could anyone comment on this? Could someone kindly provide what the numbers are for bicycle? Thank you.
Could you do me a favor? Can you switch in the mode where the phone can be moved left and right. Then move the grip in horizontal position (more or less) Then turn the phone to the very left... If you now move the grip a little up or down (depends) I get horrible vibrations and the gimbal is not usable anymore in that position. I tested 2 Smooth Q and both have the same behavior, which is actually a NO GO. Can you check, if that happens to you as well Firmware is 1.6.0

Returned mine. Couldn't get it to sync or work on 3 different Samsung 7's. Worked great with an iPhgone, but that's not what I own. Updated, reinstalled the app, did everything - it just wouldn't work. Was deeply disappointed, as I was really looking forward to using it - it looks awesome.
Hey, does anyone know whether moving timelapse is supported if the app is connected to Zhiyun Smooth Q? Will the features of the apps available irrespective of which of these Gimbals I connect to?
I have a Smooth Q & and a Samsung N8. ZY Play seems to work fine, except the moving timelapse doesn't work. When you press the key frame + button, nothing happens, it won't add a key frame. Any suggestions? Or does the App just suck on Android? I'm upgrading my Crane V1 to a V2, I'll be really pissed if the moving timelapse doesn't work on the Crane V2.
Hi Jasson, many thanks for this video. It cleared lots of doubts as I didn't get a chance to fully test the smooth Q that I own, before my travel, so I missed a couple of things, but I must say, I am amazed by the capability of this little monster. I own iPhone SE 128 GB and I loved using Smooth Q for shooting my travel videos!!!
thanks for the reply, i have mailed and have now sorted out the problem....tracking on the zyplay is not really too good but i am certain your developers will keep working on the app to make it really good......i am happy with the service and the gimbal. Keep up the good work and lets hope 2018 is a good year for the android app.........
Using ZY Play, videos are recorded in Variable Frame Rate. The result is that when editing videos, picture and sound gets out of sync. Is there a setup for fixed frame rate? (This is also a problem with the standard Camera app)
