I know that this is an old video, but I just watched it for the first time. I've got a brain injury that has caused me to have issues learning how to do things without someone taking the time to show me...and your two videos on the operation of the Zhihun Smooth-Q gimbal have certainly given me the ability to use my gimbal without someone helping. Thank you for providing people like me, with a video that's very informative and very easy to understand. I'm very grateful for you creating content like this, thank you sir! God bless you and yours! Donnie
Thanks for putting the time and effort into producing this 2 part tutorial. Together they are some of the best “how to” videos that I’ve watched on RU-vid. Easy to follow and understand and just the right amount of information to comprehend. I also appreciated the fact that you said that you didn’t understand the calibration portion. I’ve watched to many videos that gave misleading info and were more harmful than helpful. Thanks again for the great tutorials.
Excellent demo sir! My wife bought this model for me for Christmas but I had wanted the DJI Osmo mobile. I've watched a lot of reviews on these two stabaliziers and it's been torture trying to decide. I struggled whether to send it back but I couldn't resist test driving the Smooth Q. So far, I'm finding features that are either "as good" or better than the DJI Osmo. Thanks for braving the cold to show us the app features. I'm trying to be patient as I learn this. I'm using iPhone 7 and works very well so far.
Bruh MAJOR props. Thank you for your tutorial. I know it was cold outside. This tutorial is the best tutorial I've seen for ANYTHING. You didn't go too fast or too slowly. You were articulate. You made an old head wanna cry. Can you do all of the tutorials on RU-vid? Thanks again and God Bless.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I learned more from your tutorials than I learned from reading the English language manual THREE TIMES, from visiting the d.r.e.a.d.f.u.l. Zhy-Yun web site -- where clicking on the videos launched some kind of Chinese equivalent of Sim-City, and trying to make sense of the instructions in Chinese was utterly futile ... even with Google Translate's help. (And while I'm not fluent by any means, 我说,读,写普通话。)
I've had my Smooth Q for several years and still haven't reached the level of use I bought it for. It's been sitting in my gearbox now for a few years out of frustration. I can get some great basic video from it with my iPhone, but just haven't reached the comfort level I am used to with my other gear. That being said, this vid has certainly helped on seeing where my lack of patience have deterred me. Will give it a thorough workout on my next trip to the Big Island - THX!
BigBall! Awesome tutorial! I am a retired University Professor and coordinator of online instruction and I wanted to tell you awesome job my man. Great video and instructional piece. I just subscribed, you are the man!
Hey, thanks a lot for the great videos about the zhiyun smooth q. I just bought one thanks to your take. i never even knew it could do those cool timelapses, especially the moving ones. I think i will mostly be using the double tap mode, i think you called it free follow or something like that. Anyway, keep up the good work my man!
Tip: It also work great in 4K with the GoPro Hero 4, 5 or 6. If you’re shooting with the Smooth Q you can crop it down alot without losing too much quality. This means that the warp stabilizer in Premiere pro works great to rough out any edges that might not have been 100% perfect with the Smooth Q.
Awesome tutorial. I thought i was going to have to buy a counterweight for it until you demoed the balancing. I'm sure that, is prolly basic, but i'm a newbie on gimbals. So thanks!
I also lowered the "control rates" to about 10 on all axis so that panning using the thumb control is nice and slow and smooth. Not tested this yet with my Sony RX100 but I want to try it.
Thanks for making this video. I have run into one issue. I use the galaxy s8, sometimes with a case, sometimes with out. Either way, whenever I have it perfectly balanced, the camera picks up the rear arm of the gimbal on some movements. The only way I can keep the arm out of the camera view is to have it off balance so it's further away.
JPVideos did any of u facing any issue on taking video with zy play apps on s8? When i press video, the time recording is running but my screen freeze there. End up I take nthg and files cannot play
Thanks for the helpful review. Love that your filming while its snowing! Youre dedicated! 😁 btw I Just bought a smooth q yesterday and testing it now. Did calibration make much of a difference for you when you got it to worj? I too didnt like the app so im just going to use my galaxy s7 edge recording software. Also I cant see a way to set smooth q app to record to my sdcard? Also the joystick is way to fast and sensitive so when using the app to change those settings and you set the gimbal movement to reverse and slow down the joystick will that work if you dont use the smooth q app to record? I would like to be able to set it but want to use the samsung software to record. How do you change the mount for a compact camera? Btw smooth q is down to $99 on amazon today 2/6/2018 and dj osmo mobile 2 just released in stock yesterday for $129 on the dji website. Cheers! 😎
hey, I'm looking into getting one. I have a question, once I start recording will I be able to pause the video then start recording again where I pause it? fyi I'll be using it with a iPhone 12 Pro thanks.
I’m going crazy. I can’t find the tracking icon on the app for iPhone. My toolbar doesn’t look like the one on the instruction manual. I bought the gimbal for this function. Please help
Thank you so much for your videos. I bought this product thinking it was going to be super easy for a non-gadget person... and low and behold, its much more complicated, for me! So i have a very random and quick question for you, i keep reading in the manual about making sure that the proper battery charging is used. The product didn't come with a cube only the USB cable. Would you know, is it ok for me to connect that to any cube that I may have at home or should I be using a special one? I wish you lived closer to have a private one-on-one lesson :)
hey all, is it me or does the Gimble not support a 6s plus at all if I have a screen protector on the screen ? Seems i have to have a completely naked phone in order to get a solid balance. Not sure if I like that. anyone have any experience with this issue.
Hey man great video. I just bought the smooth Q gimble for my Samsung S7 Edge. However the shutter button and zoom slider does not work. i have seen people use the power/shutter button to take photo, and use the zoom slider for switching between front and back camera. Do you know what is the problem caused this?
Looking to buy a Samsung S9plus for use with my Smooth Q. My new phone will have similar dimensions to the S8plus, is it the S8plus that you were using in these videos or S8? Just concerned the S9plus at 158.1mm might be too long for this gimbal. At 189g the weight should be fine though.
What I haven't seen is how to charge it, and how to use the usb port and charging your phone while recording. I just bought a used one and don't have a manual. Can you please help me out here, I'm a newbie Thanks so much
i am planning on buying a gimbal... Dji Osmo Mobile or Smooth Q ? which would you recommend ? Money is not a problem... but if Smooth Q has all the features in Osmo then why waste money ? so is it a DJI killer or its not up to the mark with DJI ?
HI, another great video BBV. I have a question. I ve got Samsung A5 2017 and this gimbal with 1.6 firmware. The problem is that even if I change something in PTZ, there is no effect. I am saving it as my own profile (pattern)but doesnt work. What am I doing wrong :( ? Guys do you have something in common ? See ya
You seen the video with my homemade camera holder for the Yi action camera. Well I purchased a aftermarket medal holder off eBay, this should allow me to have a clean frame without obstruction from gimble arm.
+mtctookie25 Tookie I use to turn the clamp other way and stick my gopro hero 5 in it without needing a balancing holder. I was only a tiny bit off balance before I started it and worked fine. Had use it in lock mode, rotate it away from me and use the control stick.
Thanks for the helpful tips, I wish you would have slowed down a little, because Im trying to understand exactly what you were doing on the app and I'm not following.
