Having a trapping cabin ourselves, it was a treat to come across this very old cabin and examine the workmanship. It is a piece of history so I would like to share it with you.
Anyone watching able to tell where this is? I'm keeping its location to myself, but I'm probably not the first one to encounter it. As a hint, it is in the Lodgepole region of Alberta, Canada.
This video concludes with some beautiful footage, flying low along the Pembina River, so hang in to the end!
The sequences in this video were recorded using a DJI Pocket 2 camera and a DJI Mini 3 Pro drone.

In my view old cabins are never really abandoned...often if no one destroys them, they provide refuge and resource for those in need.

That would make a good cabin for hunting trips! Too bad it’s not located where I am drawn!

Hey there, been a while. Hope all is well up there. They did a good job on the logs. Too bad it wasn't kept up. Is that somewhere on your trapline? Thanks Bruce

So is that on public land? Just interested how things work up there.
@TheWaytoNativeChronicles
@TheWaytoNativeChronicles Год назад
Yes, it's on public land (known as "Crown Land" here). Through what are called "Dispositions" various industries can obtain exclusive rights to certain resources (trees, oil, mining, fur) on crown land. This cabin was built on the basis of a disposition for the fur resources and, hence, the trapper is permitted to build a cabin.
