By our conversational approach to life, no sane and intelligent person will refuse to take his or her hand off a hot surface whenever he or she happens to touch it. Any person who refuses to react to the heat of a hot surface and allows his or her hand to burn will be deemed unwise or mentally disturbed by onlookers.
Unfortunately, men and women tend to ignore this rule of thumb whenever it comes to the pain they feel from their negative emotions. The question is who is an intelligent person?
An intelligent person is a man or woman who has full knowledge and understanding of the law of the universe. He or she is abreast with the existence and operations of the laws of the universe and organizes or conducts his or her life in light of the laws of the universe. He or she pays attention to his or her feelings and adjusts his or her thinking accordingly.
