That's the best part of being a Red Velvet fan. They never do what everyone expects.

Center is Irene the original visual 😊 at the beginning of their career, they did full Red or full Velvet then they are doing mix of Red, Velvet in various degrees. For me their main charm is 5 beautiful individual voices and heavenly vocal layers together. Maknae Yeri tends to get less lines or center time still RV might be the most balanced group. I can't predict what they will bring next time, but the quality is guaranteed including every single b-sides.

Their concepts are always different because they are the queen of concepts and versatility. Their music discography is insane 😭❤️❤️❤️

Red Velvet is so diverse that there's something for everyone. Bad Boy also has an English version. Equally as good. Psycho is really bitter sweet or me. It's such an amazing song with fantastic vocals but will always be marred because of the accident. Feel my rhythm is not a ballad, it's a bop. As for a bias it's tough but Wendy is actually 1 of my 2 ult biases but Seulgi hits really hard.

The 'Dark Queen' concept in 'Feel My Rhythm' is worn by Seulgi, the actual soft teddy-bear of the group and their Main Dancer. She's even more introverted than a lot of other Idols, including Wendy. Seulgi and Wendy are best friends both within and outside of the group and they even made a duet song called 'Best Friend' which made it to Wendy's solo project album called 'Like Water'. Wendy made this album when she made her comeback after her accident.

'Feel my Rhythm' is still the best sampling of a classical peace I've ever heard in Pop music (it's Bach's 'Air on G-String'). I can't name the paintings in the beginning, but almost all of the set design is very Hieronymus Bosch. Just look at his 'The Garden of Earthly Delights'.

I think at the beginning after they debuted, SM wanna show how the concept between Red and Velvet could go so they showcase them with that very clear RED and VELVET side and then with their many comebacks, it's more like Red + Velvet such as Russian Roulette, they don't go to completely Red or Velvet (but Psycho is much velvet tho). I wound like to recommend you to check few things 1. at least all of their comeback mv first, I think it would help you get familiar with their versatile concepts better and you can check their b-tracks later (they are well-known as b-track queen); fyi, since 2018, SM provides Eng subtitle for mv 2. check guide to Red Velvet clip to know more about each member; maybe find the updating recent year 3. they have recording behind clips since 2021, you would find out how their songs you listen were recorded and how the process was

So Red Velvet's entire concept is duality Red: poppy, happy, up beat Velvet: slow, smooth, RnB That's how we get there, lol. Because they have have red songs, and they have velvet songs. Some of their songs are like "in between" (such as peek-a-boo, which is significantly less poppy than Red Flavor, but not as velvet as Bad Boy or Automatic). Their experimental sound is their whole concept and their discography is so diverse and legit :) They are my ult next to Dreamcatcher. I agree with the people who said it may be better to go more chronologically, as you can get a better feel for the evolution of their music over time, which may help with the "how did we get here?" Especially bearing in mind their whole concept of duality and experimental music. :) There's also their japanese releases (especially #CookieJar and Wild Side) to check out along the evolutionary path.

Yeah so Red Velvet did release a ballad title track, but you haven’t reacted to it yet. It’s called “One Of These Nights”…you also reacted to their r&b velvet track “Automatic” as well. But you didn’t check out their single “Natural” which is also a cover of SM’s 1st gen girl group SES. That song also is a very velvet and r&b influenced. But for the most part Red Velvet has been doing a lot of experimental music recently. Sometimes it’s not clear if it’s Red or Velvet or RED + VELVET. You never know what concept and genre Red Velvet is going to do in their comebacks. It all depends on preference and sometimes some title tracks are “growers”.. at first it’s not your cup of tea..but then you end up listening to it non-stop. 😂

the videos you watching in this video are not in order so there are many crazy songs like for example before peekaboo that had a song called "rookie" after badboy there released "power up" before psycho they have RBB,umphaumpha,zimzalabim(watch zimzalabim at the last after watching all there title tracks it is hit or miss for casual fans) beofre feel my rythm there released queendom and there most recent song was in november 2022 called birthday. just fyi 3 out of 5 members have had there solo debuts they are actress, radio djs and much more they are just to multi talented

I love your reactions! Once you become a fan, and really listen to all of the title tracks, you can really see how diverse their style is. They have way more title tracks. Peekaboo and feel my rhythm are like six years apart.

The best and worse about Red Velvet is the same: bc of their experimental music and ever-changing concepts, they don’t get casual fans the way Twice and BP can. Us fans love them for it though.

If Dreamcatcher didn't exist, then Red Velvet would probably be my ult for KPOP because the talent and the sheer variety of their output keeps them exciting. I guess I also have a soft spot for underdogs too; they really had to claw their way up and break into the Korean market when they really weren't that popular at home in the early years. Tashelters provided great info (~5 hrs before me) that I want to reiterate. 🛳 You really must learn about the Sewol ferry tragedy before watching "One of These Nights". Absolutely heartbreaking. 🎼 Re: "Feel My Rhythm", in addition to J.S. Bach's "Air on the G String", the bizarre visuals are based largely on 🖼 "The Garden of Earthly Delights" (ca. 1500) by Hieronymus Bosch, while much of the more pleasant garden scenes are Claude Monet, and others. IMO, some really fun RV MVs include: 🐺 "RBB" (Really Bad Boy) and 🏖 "Umpah Umpah". And eventually you'll watch Joy's delightful solo where she steals a dog and kidnaps a little girl. 😉
