Discovering Secret Campsites // Overlanding Carson National Forest in New Mexico 

I wish I had this setup for Africa last summer. I’ve grown more critical of Canons mirrorless cameras as they seem to either not care about their users, or protect their flagship cameras by nerfing their mid tier cameras, wait years to implement new tech and features everyone else has already widely adopted, and even locking out third party lens manufacturers. I had the mirrorless R6 last year and it’s the only R model that doesn’t have customizable video preset buttons even though it’s advertised as a hybrid shooter. I originally bought it thinking they would add it in a firmware update at some point but they never did. when it came time to plan our trip to Africa I knew that was a feature I needed for run and gun shooting. Not being able to afford a total kit switch I ended up sinking $2,500 into the R6 Mark II which did have that feature. It worked ok but after that trip it didn’t sit well with me that Canon forced all their users to upgrade from a 2 year old camera to get a feature that even the lesser R models had. I’m still kicking myself for not jumping ship sooner and I’m even contemplating making a ranting video about it lol but customer loyalty doesn’t exist anymore I guess. I’m sure Sony has or will try to do the same and screw over their customers at some point but for now I think they’re doing a good job at listening to their user base and making gear that enables people to be more creative.
