Let me help explain what is happening in Super Junior's "Black Suit" MV. First off, Nov. 6, 2017, the day the "Black Suit" MV was released, was Super Junior's 12th anniversary. That's why this album and comeback was extra important to fans. It had been more than 2 years since we had had a comeback from SuJu because 7 of the members were enlisting in the military over the past 2 years before this comeback. Play -- the album this song is from -- is Super Junior's 8th full length album. In "Black Suit" each of the members play a different character in the auction house. Siwon was a "Client representative" -- a person who places a clients bid for them while talking to them on the phone. The blond "security guard" is Donghae. Shindong was the millionaire who was hiding under the chair on the floor in the MV. Leeteuk played the auctioneer. Eunhyuk, the curly haired guy with the glasses, was the appraiser. Yesung was the guy in charge of transporting the suit from storage and Heechul was the savage one yet again as the Decoy. "Black Suit" has only 7 of the 13 members of Super Junior. Six members are not a part of this comeback -- Ryeowook and Kyuhyun were in the military at this time, Henry and Zhoumi are the Chinese members of Super Junior-M and they are not part of the main Super Junior group, and Sungmin and KangIn were inactive at this time due to some controversy (KangIn, has sadly now left the group). Here is my theory of what happened in "Black Suit". The concept of the story in the MV is kind of like an "Ocean's Eleven" movie. The members are playing a group of friends who are planning to steal the suit. In other words, it was an inside job. Super Junior planned to steal the suit even before the auction. The real suit was never on display because Yesung -- the transporter -- helped to hide the real suit away and they replaced it with a fake suit. That's why in the beginning of the auction you see Eunhyuk -- the appraiser -- up at the front testifying to the fact that it was the "authentic suit" to make sure no one suspected that the suit wasn't the real one. Because the suit on display isn't the real suit, when the girl at the end steals it, none of the members try to stop her because all the members know it's the wrong one. Heechul starts the fight by throwing a bottle in order to distract from the fact that the theft has occurred. In the beginning you see the fight taking place all in reverse. They rewind the scene to show us what led up to the fight. Shindong is the comedian of the group and because he is playing the millionaire he decided to make his character scared of all the chaos that is going on during the fight scene, that is why he is hiding on the floor. Shindong is also one of the top dancers in the industry, don't let his size deceive you. He was scouted by SM's talent scouts when he was a teenager while he was participating in a local dance competition and he became one of the top trainees under SM. He is known for his popping and locking and robotics skills. He is an amazing dancer and, even though he mostly raps, he has a very beautiful voice as well. Shindong now owns his own video production company and he has produced some of Super Junior's MVs and concerts. And all of SM's "@ the stage" live performance videos are produced by him and his company. Plus, you will see him as a host and cast member on a lot of variety shows. He often appears as a host during the game sections on Knowing Brother and is great at doing funny parodies of other idol songs and dances, etc. Super Junior truly are a group of brothers that have been together for so many years that nothing is off limits and they don't hide their true selves from the cameras. LOL If you saw the behind the scenes of their MVs you would see them all making fun of each other and swearing and just generally acting crazy like a bunch of teenage boys. Check out their SJ Returns reality TV show to see them on set filming "Black Suit." This is the first part of episode 37 where you see them on set m.vlive.tv/video/46461, but there are several episodes after this also where they are on set. And if you enjoy these clips, check out more of the episodes from this season, because there are a lot more that came before these episodes. This will help you to get to know them better. Super Junior are known for their story based MVs, their catchy choreography and their goofy fun concepts. Some of their other songs you should check out are "Danger" by Super Junior-D&E; "Devil" and "Mamacita" by Super Junior; and Super Junior-M's "Swing". (Super Junior-M is Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit, so if you react to them maybe consider reacting to the Chinese/Mandarin versions of the songs because that's the original version.) And, of course, the vocals are insane, Super Junior is an OG group from SM, so you shouldn't expect any less. Plus, Super Junior has the 3 best vocalists -- Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- who make up the sub-unit Super Junior-K.R.Y. Super Junior-K.R.Y. is the industry's very first sub-unit which debuted in 2006, and they are a ballad unit who have an unbelievable vocal range. Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung are the vocal standard in the industry, who set the bar that all other vocalists are measured against. But as an SM group, all the members of Super Junior are amazing singers -- even their rappers have been known to fill in as a main vocalist on occasion. The three rappers of Super Junior are Eunhyuk who is the main dancer and main rapper (who also is a vocalist), Shindong who is a lead rapper and lead dancer (and vocalist) and Heechul who is a lead rapper and vocalist. Super Junior have always been ahead of their time. They have such a wide range of songs and styles that they appeal to almost everyone, you just have to find your jam. After more than 16 years, Super Junior has done pretty much every genre of music. SuJu are never afraid to experiment with their sound or style and they are known for coming up with original concepts and setting trends. And because the group is so diverse, with so many unique members (at their peak they had 15 members), this allows them to be able to do almost anything. They are the founders of the Hallyu Wave (making Kpop popular internationally) for a reason. There is almost nothing in the Kpop industry that SuJu hasn't had a hand in creating. Their discography also includes several repackaged albums, as well as a multitude of mini albums. Plus, they have 5 sub-units -- Super Junior-K.R.Y. (made up of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- SJ's main vocalists), Super Junior-D & E (made up of Donghae and Eunhyuk), Super Junior-T (Trot -- which is like a cross between the equivalent of western old-style country music and cabaret music. It's older-style Korean pop music that's all about being kind of cheesy, fun and over the top.), Super Junior-M (Mandarin Chinese) and Super Junior-H (Happy). And they have 12 members in total, and most of them also have solo tracks and albums. So yes, they have plenty of songs to check out, as well as numerous live performances and concert footage. Super Junior was the first group to ever hold 100 concerts back in 2014, and there have been dozens more since then. So, I don't think you will run out of Super Junior things to watch for a very long time. LOL Super Junior has their own record label -- Label SJ -- which is under SM Entertainment, but also more independent, so they are able to collaborate with other Kpop artists outside of SM Entertainment and even non-Kpop artists such as Latin artists like REIK and Leslie Grace. Super Junior members range in age from 38-32.That's why they have a more mature and classy look and feel to their more recent MVs and songs and that's why you often see them dressed in suites. They are all men, not boys. LOL But as you will soon discover, they are one of the most unique groups when it comes to the dynamics of the members personalities -- they truly are fun, crazy, over the top and aren't afraid to just let their freak flag fly when they interact with each other. LOL SJ are legends in the industry and they have paved the way for almost everything you see in the Kpop industry today. They set the standard for how Kpop is promoted around the world. They are also the first group to have serious roles in all the other entertainment industries -- setting the standard on how a Kpop star branches out into all parts of the industry. They are not only singers and dancers but members are musicians, composers, songwriters, lyricists, music and video producers, TV and movie actors, stage actors, models, radio DJs/ hosts, variety show hosts/MCs, authors, etc. Pretty much anything we think of as a standard part of the Kpop industry was created because of them. They were the first Kpop group to have non-Korean members, the first group to have dedicated sub-units and the first Kpop group to have a sub-unit that focused on producing songs in Mandarin for the Chinese audience.

For those who may not know a lot about Super Junior, to help you understand how influential and epic Super Junior are: The group was originally created to be a "project group" which meant that SM Entertainment originally put the group together with members who had all different talents within the entertainment industry, as well as singing and dancing. When the group was created they were considered the super rookies of the company so they were given the name Super Junior '05. The original purpose of the group was for the members to get more experience in all aspects of the entertainment industry while they also worked as singers and dancers. For example, Shindong and Eunhyuk were supposed to be training as comedians and hosts, Siwon was an actor, etc. (That is why the members of Super Junior are involved in all aspects of the entertainment industry today.) The original plan was that after about 3 to 6 months, when SM decided the members had gained enough experience, the individual members would graduate from the group and form other groups or move on to other careers within the entertainment industry, etc. and new members would be added to the group. However, Super Junior gained a very large and vocal Korean fandom even before they debuted, and when the fans heard about SM's plan to have the members of Super Junior leave the group, the fans got together and demanded that SM allow Super Junior to stay together. With large scale protests and purchasing enough shares of SM stocks, fans became voting members of SM Entertainment's board of directors and were able to force SM to promise that Super Junior would become a permanent group. E.L.F. (Ever Lasting Friends -- SJ's fandom) are some of the most loyal and vocal of all Kpop fans. Plus, I think one reason why fans were so upset about Super Junior '05's concept was the fact that the members of Super Junior were actually part of a larger group of trainees who the fans had watched go through an elimination process. The members who "made it" where the 5 members who originally became the members of TVXQ, and the members who formed Super Junior '05 were the "castoffs." But fans had already formed a bond with ALL the trainees, so they were upset that the other members who "didn't make it" (Super Junior members) might eventually disappear from the spotlight, etc. When Super Junior first debuted on Nov 6, 2005, they had 12 members, but 6 months later Kyuhyun was added to the group to officially make them a 13 member group. Then in 2008, SM created the industry's very first Mandarin Chinese sub-unit designed to bring Kpop to the Chinese market and they added 2 new members to Super Junior (Zhoumi and Henry) and Super Junior officially became a 15 member group. Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian and Zhoumi is native Chinese. However, Zhoumi and Henry were only allowed to be members of Super Junior-M. So, Super Junior is a 13 member group + 2 (Super Junior-M) members. So, technically, Super Junior was "originally" a 15 member group. However, in the same way that the Korean ELF supported Super Junior and forced SM to make them a permanent group, in 2008 when SM announced the addition of Henry and Zhoumi and the creation of Super Junior-M, Korean fans protested yet again. But this time they were against adding any new members to Super Junior. So the Korean fans forced SM, this time, to agree to only make Henry and Zhoumi members of Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit (they needed more Chinese members to make the Chinese sub-unit work), and they were not allowed to be included in anything to do with the main group of Super Junior. Then in 2010, Hangeng (The industry's very first non-Korean member of a Kpop group -- he is Chinese) and Kibum left the group and Super Junior became an 11 member group + 2 (Super Junior-M) members. In 2018 Henry left SM Entertainment, but he never officially left Super Junior. Now, before someone says "Henry is not a part of Super Junior any more," I want to point out that it has never officially been said that Henry has left Super Junior. Yes, he left SM when his contract was up after 10 years, to start his own independent company -- called Monster Entertainment Group -- but that doesn't necessarily mean he left the group. So many true fans are holding out hope that this means he still may collaborate with SJ on projects in the future. (He is still living and working in Korea and he is still in contact with all the SJ members, etc.) After all, the 3 members of Girls' Generation who left SM have said they would like to do something similar in the future. All three members of Girls' Generation have said just because they left SM, doesn't mean they left the group.That's why when Girls' Generation made their most recent comeback they did it as a sub-unit Oh!GG, because they weren't the full group. And even Taecyeon from 2PM left JYP Entertainment, but his new company has partnered with JYP to allow Taecyeon to continue activities with 2PM. And Ravi from VIXX left JellyFish Entertainment, but he has continued activities with his group. So, it looks more promising all the time that if Henry ever wanted to do something with SJ again, he could. After all, Henry is one of Lee SooMan's (SM's) favorite people. (Even though SM may have never allowed Henry to reach his full potential under them, which is part of the reason why he left the company. But I don't think there was any bad blood between them when he left, and he has always been one of SM's most prized artists for the amount of talent he has.) Then in 2019, KangIn officially left Super Junior, and now they have 10 members + 2 (Super Junior-M) members. However, currently they have 9 active members. Sungmin decided to take a hiatus from the group in 2017 because of Korean fans' protest over him getting married. And now after more than 4 years, even though he had his solo debut in 2019, he has still not done any activities with Super Junior. Zhoumi renewed his contract with SM in 2018, so he is still an "active" member of Super Junior, however, because of the political issues between China and Korea, Zhoumi had not done anything with Super Junior for almost 6 years. However, Zhoumi released a new song "I'll Be There" in 2020 with SM, and more specifically, under Super Junior's label -- Label SJ -- and it features Kun and Xiaojun from WayV. And, even more exciting, is the fact that, for the first time in a long time, Zhoumi was back in Korea and he actually worked with Super Junior again. Zhoumi and Ryeowook (one of SuJu's main vocalists and a member of Super Junior-M) released a new song in 2020 called "Starry Night" and it has a Korean and Chinese version. Zhoumi is an actor, model, author, lyricist and songwriter/producer, etc. in China. If it wasn't for all the political issues he probably would have been in Korea working with Super Junior this whole time. But because he is only a member of Super Junior-M and they aren't active right now because they are unable to promote in China, Zhoumi has been doing other things with his career. So, as you can see, depending on the time period, you will see a wide fluctuation in the number of members who are included in each of their songs, MVs and activities. Because they have such a large group with such a wide range of ages, the number of members have fluctuated over the years as the members have all taken their turns serving in the military, because of injury, and controversies that have caused some members to take time off, etc. (SuJu spends almost 9 years where they are missing at least one member as they all take their leave to serve in the military. The members started going off to the military in 2009/2010 and the last member was discharged in 2018.)

SuJu brings bops every time. Eunhyuck and Shindong are some of SM's best dancers. Legend has it that all SM trainees are shown a video of Shindong dancing to a wild music medley. He taught Minho how to moonwalk. Their vocal line is insane and always has been. This song only has Yesung, but you can see they're not lacking since everyone can sing. Now, you just have BoA and TVXQ! and you'll have covered the SM 2nd gen legends that would grow k-pop into what it is today.

A lot of male reactors like Yesung's vocals... the huskiness of his voice is really unique. But he's an amazing singer... A number of singers/vocal coaches pegged him to be a baritone. He can go low and then belt the high notes mainly in chest/mixed voice when other tenors might have to go into head voice for them. There are a few Black Suit covers out there but none of them can even get close to covering Yesung's adlibs sufficiently. If you like to hear Yesung go off, check out songs like It's You (SS7 perf), Daydream (SS5 Seoul perf), Mamacita (SS7 perf), and basically KRY stuff also, lol. And lol at you pointing out Yesung's visual as anime-ish! He's known to have the anime looks in SJ. You'll probably find a meme or thread on twt comparing his hairstyles/looks with anime characters.

Super Junior and TVQX are the standards in SM and SM are just great in hunting some of the great vocalist I've heard so far in kpop and there is no idol in SM who just can't sing at all even rappers are trained to be a vocalist as well I guess that's the reason they have huge number of soloists

Watching their music videos is fun because it's really like watching a drama or movie; however, if you really want to be impressed with their vocals, look at them live. They are one of the few groups that sound the same live as they do on the recording. They have published songs of various genres too - hip hop, trot, jazz, ballad, etc. They have a ton of sub units too like Super Junior M, Super Junior D& E and Super Junior Kry.

The one thing about this era of kpop for me that I absolutely adored from groups like Super Junior and SHINee was their singing abilities. The runs, the harmony... always got me like "hell yeah, sing the damn song boys"

okay first of all i get super emotional anytime someone enjoys and appreciates Super Junior, because they really are one of the og great kpop groups ;w; they've been a group for so long and they've covered just about every genre out there, so there's really a super junior song for everyone! Eunhyuk is my bias, i fell head over heels for him the first time i saw him in Sexy Free & Single (which is the first MV i saw from them; there's a lot of leather and spikes in that video LOL very fun). If you really wanna hear him sing, i recommend his solo (which has an MV!) called "Be". He has a really pretty and underrated voice imo! you should totally check out Sorry Sorry, which was one of their first songs to get really popular! You can tell it's an older song by the sound, but i feel like it's still a good song c: a lot of younger groups have covered it as well, which is always fun to watch xD i like to see other groups' takes on it! "It's You" is another one of my favorite songs of theirs. Heechul was still recovering from a pretty rough car accident when they were filming the MV and promoting it, so he only shows up at the end and doesn't dance, which is pretty similar to what he does now! The kpop industry being what it is, Heechul never really rested and allowed that injury to heal properly, and he's paying for it now :c so he doesn't usually dance with Super Junior anymore, but still takes part in the MVs and albums and will usually show up for his parts when they perform live! All of Super Junior have been through a lot but they've overcome and stuck together and they're still going strong, even at their age! which is of course not old, but "old" for a kpop group xD So glad you enjoyed them! If i might recommend a group to check out, i'd love to see you react to Boyfriend (who actually disbanded and then got back together recently under the new name BF). My favorite MV/song of theirs is "Janus" but they've got a lot of good ones! I came to your channel to watch Seventeen but noticed you react to my boys SuJu too, and that makes me so happy. They are the group that really got me in to k-pop a few years ago with their song Bonamana and I knew of Siwon from his dramas. They have a lot of really good songs but what made me fall in love with them is their crazy, chaotic and hilarious dynamic when they're together and just being themselves. I really just love them to death. I see you have a few reactions of them and hope you will do more in the future.
