The best video I've seen about Princess food overall. Totally agree about the Crown Grill. If we only eat in one specialty restaurant on a cruise, it's the Crown Grill! The food has always been high quality and delicious. The Salty Dog is new for us, and looks like a good sea day lunch possibility. We actually enjoy the dinner buffet (World Fresh Marketplace) on the Lido deck sometimes especially after a long port day. The pool deck pizza is the best at sea in our opinion. Glad to hear it's available in the Sanctuary!
Nice video. Sad about the afternoon tea. We always go and it's "usually" quite nice. On our Royal Princess cruise this March the afternoon tea was "disappointing" at best. As for Salty Dog Gastropub vs Vines... We definitely prefer Vines by a huge margin. We are booked on Discovery Princess but that cruise isn't until 2024 - Mexico for the Solar Eclipse. I have to agree with you regarding the Black and Blue soup. It's sooooooo good but we have to skip it as it is so incredibly filling. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
@ 2:15. Must admit. Those sandwiches are pretty bad by the looks of it. Really poorly made. I’ve seen sandwiches at petrol stations and supermarkets better made and look tastier.
By the way I always look forward to your videos. Relaxed and calm but always informative. Salty Dog is much better. I love that relaxed pub style atmosphere and food. Sometimes the other venues are just to frou frou.

Sailing Mexican Riviera (my first 7-day) aboard Discovery Princess with the family on April 1 and this video was SUPER helpful and super helpful to members of my family as well. I'm planning on taking voice lessons soon so that maybe someday in the near future my voice can be just as palliative.
We sailed on the Enchanted Princess and it has the same venues as the Discovery Princess. I missed Vines and was very disappointed. The Salty Dog is OK, but I wish it was somewhere else. Please bring Vines back and in the Piazza.
I think we came to the same conclusion. We liked the Salty Dog gastro on the Crown but it just didn’t have the same vibe in the atrium on the Discovery 😞 Thanks for watching 👍

Ohhh so sorry you had a problem with the afternoon tea on Discovery. I had a great experience on the Sky Princess..the afternoon tea was a highlight for me. Crown Grill YES, I love it? I love their onion soup so much, i had the restaurant manager serve it to me everyday in the club class dining thanks for the food journey🚢😊

We're sailing Discovery to Alaska in August (delayed honeymoon due to Covid) This will be my first Princess cruise and I loved hearing/seeing all the dining options. Gorgeous video and really presented Princess dining choices in a very flattering way. We have not done Princess cruises for a number of years, but, having done 7 of them, always enjoyed the experience and the food. I think the afternoon tea problems may have just been a one off exception since I always found them very nice with good scones and all. I think I favor Viking's tea over any other since it is really scrumptious and done in a beautiful setting on the ocean ships. Thanks so much for sharing.
Going on the Discovery Princess in September. Love Princess, but I hope the food is better than Sky Princess. That ship had the worst food I have experienced over 30 cruises. The low point was the lobster. It was just the size of a postage stamp. I laughed as it seemed even smaller plated on a huge plate with a matching small portion of beige rice and a beige vegetable of some sort. Your video in no way represented the buffet selections on the Sky Princess. The buffet was 90% closed the entire cruise, and the staff seemed to think this was normal. PS. Your videos are great!
Oh my Glen when did you go on the Sky?….the food was wonderful and plentiful….i was in club class dining, i wonder if that was why i had a great experience
@@gregwike2105 on our Majestic cruise in December the tails weren’t worth having. I was very surprised when someone at the table next to us ordered several more! Perhaps he had a different batch! Lois😊
No, but it does need to have taste. Savoury scones are delicious (I LOVE cheese scones) but these were neither savoury or sweet. Just bland and tasteless. :)
On a scone I always put the jam on first, the top it with cream!! Whichever way one prefers it, it's always a tasty treat! .... In any case, why submit to the "protocol police"!! .... After all, you've paid your money, nobody's going to watch you eat it.... Hmmm; hopefully not!
I felt like I was back on Sky Princess watching that. Almost anyway... I like the idea of Salty dog. Something new for me. I really want to go back on Princess, but my other half didn't enjoy it. We had some issues and most controversial of all.... We didn't like the bed and mattress topper in the mini suite.
Wow, now that is controversial! We still hanker for our mattress and bedding on Crown Princess - one of the comfiest beds we’ve ever slept in 😁❤️ Thanks for watching 👍
I liked World Market, but I found the Indian food to be a bit greasy. I thought they did breakfast brilliantly. I missed Sabbatini's. I hope to catch it next trip. Crown Grill was fabulous!

We will be cruising to Alaska on the Discovery in September. It will be our first time with Princess (although we’ve cruised many times on other lines). We purchased the premier package and I believe we get to enjoy two specialty restaurants included with our fare. I’m leaning towards the Crowne Grill and the Italian restaurant. Thanks for the helpful video.

As far as we’re aware the dining options on the Enchanted Princess are the same as the Discovery Princess so you should be able to use this dining guide for your Enchanted cruise too 👍😁

Very informative video. Nice shots of the venues. No rush, very calming tone. Love it. Quite a lot of food with dairy in it, cheese, creamy sauces etc. Hoping there will be non dairy alternatives.
