Discussing Airsoft Game Design 

I did not have a real appreciation for airsoft until I started putting on milsim events. You guys are spot on. Especially regarding the liability exposure. Waivers are just an acknowledgment by the participant that this is a dangerous activity and you could get hurt. It goes a long way in court but the game organizer still has a duty to create a safe environment. Which includes providing a safe playing environment, established rule set, and enforcement of said rules. Lax rules for the house team does not cut it. Friends who ask for special rules and special privileges during the game are NOT your friends. That inconsistent application of the rules WILL come up in court. They are compromising your financial future so they can have fun. Priority #1 - Safety. Priority #2 - Everyone has fun.

One thing I’d recommend for the “review” section is that if you ask someone to fill out a form online or email you their comments, and the players ask for a response to their feedback - ANSWER THEM. Give the players a response. Even if the game goes to complete crap and the players tell you that, there’s a better chance they’ll come play in your next event if they can see you’re making an attempt to make the game better.

maybe remember to start of with a smaller amount of objectives, players, etc. so you have the capabilities to manage it and built your skills in organising refs/admins, players and swapping/adding objectives.

Thank you for pushing insurance. It's a battle in our local area with a non insured "field" causing problems for our legit fields.

Love your vids guys's, but can do a video on a turning your high end gun (my krytac trident mk2 crb) into the best it can be. Most of the upgrade parts are worse then what's in the gun but it would be nice to have a guide on getting into high level airsoft equipment and upgrading.

If y'all want some great tips on the mindset and philosophy to approach this kind of thing, look into Dungeons and Dragons Dungeon Master tips.

Do you have any videos on organizing and ruling LARP/STALKER like airsoft games that last for a few days?

what do you guys think of a pro series based off of the most popular modes in competetive gaming: BOMB mode. a 5 v 5, it can be outdoor or indoor, with higher emphasis on communication. one team defends the bomb, the other has to either eliminate or defuse the bomb. Counterstrike is crazy popular and successful in esports. Rainbow 6 is probably one of THE most popular competitive esports platform too. you can have the speed softers attracted to it, the mil sim guys attracted to it. Imagine a map the size of a football field, covered in moss, and rubble and somewhere in the middle is a bomb. Defenders can move out from the starting point, and attackers can start anywhere on the external boundary of the map. This would be EPIC!

Designing games is so complicated... you are limited a lot by the field... that's why there is so few variation in my country... most fields are basecly the same... haha never make a self medic rule... people will cheat their asses off the whole game... there was this game in my country with a bottleneck in the middle of the field, and people had massive shootouts at that point without any team beeing able to get the upperhand so nobody could advance beyond that point wich made that no team could complete 1 objective, it was just an all day shootout in the middle... some people liked it but a lot of people where really frustrated because you really can't do anything but get in the shootout in the middle... this is a very commen problem in my country... there are exeptions but al lot of fields have that problem... there goes so much planning into an event and it's so sad for the originisers if the day is like that... all that hard work and for what?
