Discussing Survive The Hunt #29 

I thinking hunters calling a sultan upgraded is the equivalent of gamers "calling hax."

Poor guy on map duty, just trying to do his job and get's constantly interrupted by phone calls

Alex has gotten a lot better at getaway driving, since the start and middle of this series - but so have the hunters at tracking/following/communication.

Alex: I have to be stealthy Also Alex: stand on wall, with a gun out How the hunters saw the sultan parked there, but didn't see you on the wall, baffles me. Also the last pri was in Mirror Park, as Alex thought it was in the STH video, but didn't go far enough north. Secluded residential area with a pond, which is where I think the mirror name comes from, plus the freight train loop passes under Mirror Park between the east side canal tracks and the elevated rail that passes over interstate 4-east outside the city. As someone who has a vehicle warehouse in El Mesa, and thinking about moving other businesses into that general area as well, knowing the rail system is extremely useful, especially with vehicle cargo considering the AI will kamikaze you at any given moment. At the end, while the quick right turn to get off the rail and onto the Elysian Fields Freeway was a sneaky move, following the rail north to the point of where the western side of the Mirror Park's subterranean rail tunnel starts, you would've been outside Mirror Park; alternatively the eastern exit of this same tunnel would've spit you out to the southeast of Mirror Park, though this may have been outside your allowable play area. Honestly, with as much attention as the eastern map has gotten lately, I'd start familiarizing myself with that section of the map, along with the sneaky ins and outs of the various neighborhoods. Alex could just have easily gotten pri #8 and time out the session with a mostly straight line chase through the northern city or going west along Del Perro Freeway; of which gives you a lot more options of where to go, either for a chase or finding an opportunity to go back to stealth, and the nice thing is that there's a DPF on/off on the street just south of Mirror Park's residential circle. Having better knowledge of the area would've resulted in a win. Having better knowledge of Elysian Island would've also aided in not immediately getting caught trying to blow pri #7, or at least having a better escape plan. Such as not getting stuck on the tracks along the curve, taking the dead rail south into the pier area, doing a 180° and getting onto the on/off that goes to the Elysian Fields Freeway if you go east or the La Puerta Freeway if you go west. Or taking the northern portion of that track straight, which is the eastern side of the southern cargo loop, and escaping into Southern LS, or following that loop until it reconverges into a single line that goes up the east side of the canals and into the Mirror Park tunnel. Or getting back onto Chum street to either go north on Signal street, the cargo bridge, or going east into East LS. Or going back to knowing the sneakier, more precise ins and outs of the area, there's a jump, or two, over to the Docks area, the trains and roads have small gaps, etc.; that sneaky turn off the rails to get onto EFF is an example of this, there's a bunch of little gaps to escape through in these areas. Knowing item placement on dead rail also helps, there's a lot of items that can wreck you, but knowing where those are can be used as an advantage during a chase if the hunters don't also have knowledge of the area. Having knowledge of these would really help, and allow you to work off of more than just fleeing instincts. Though, I will say, pri #7 would've been better as a long range blow, I don't think you have access to explosive rounds on the mk2 sniper, but that would be extremely useful for stealth, but having distance behind a homing missile or rpg can be an advantage if you have a clear shot. I also want to see motorcycles in STH. While crash risk is high, considering you'll get flung, they're also much more maneuverable and a hell of a lot skinnier. Find a bike, use it to your advantage. I don't remember much about the OG bike set, the ones that'll spawn, but aren't they also pretty decent in terms of speed, as long as you find a sports bike?

Have you considered planting the sticky bomb then changing cars before detonating? It would give you a fresh car with no broken windows before announcing your location, and if you get interrupted you could detonate to foul the hunters comms until they realise both leads are in the same place.

fair play to i think the blimp guy at around 17 minutes, his updates on Alex's position were spot on. Especially with everyone talking over him.

That blimp was the MVP of the chasing, without it they hunters would not have being able to follow him as much.

I really like to hear the hunters' radio. I'd also like to see the blimp's perspective sometimes, just to have an idea what they can actually see from up there during the runaways or when they're able to spot you

Love these Survive the Hunts. Like you have done before when you jumped from a plane or left from a boat have you thought about starting from another location like the bulding called the jetty? It has parking spots for everyone or the KORTZ building up the hill? You know to see if that gives a different challenge. Figured I would ask.

To whoever launched the deadly flare gun of death and destruction much kudos. Humour value 100%, effectiveness value, maybe not so much. I reckon the chasers should have a paper map marked out in a grid system?

Tip: If you barely squeeze the brake trigger and then barely squeeze the gas trigger, you will sit still at a red light with your brake lights on.

hearing the mess that is this voice chat it always amazes me they manage to do as well as they do to find and keep up with you. dangerman did great in the blimp though, to be fair.

A good place to start changing your cars unseen would be the rail tunnels or the underground Rail stations which would give him cover to find another car, I think that he would be more successful in blowing up pries. Also I think that the no shooting from cars should be removed for the flare gun only, it would allow the hunters to track him down better or he could use the flare gun to throw the hunters off his trail.

It's always fun to see the swarm of white dots just take over a section of the map after you blow up one of the pink cars

I just noticed he did that thing he used to do all the time, he clearly could have kept running towards the end, but instead just did 3 big circles until they found him. He used to do that all the time, seemingly to have one last chase as the time runs out. Even after he got spotted he kept going in circles. Bites him in the ass.

You should do a version where the hunters have an imposter on their team, taking inspiration from Among Us. One person who is allowed to have a map and tries to give misinformation to keep you alive. If the hunters figure out who it is and kill them- they win. Of course, they run the risk of killing off their innocent teammates.

I think it would be really really cool for Alex to do an assassination style STH, but where the hunters think it’s completely normal. Alex just has a hidden goal to assassinate as many hunters as possible without being caught. Probably one of those that is good on paper, not so much in practice. Still, would be interesting.

Have you considered swapping your starting vehicle for a custom upgraded vehicle that they might not suspect? Something they know you don't like. Like a Futo.

Hey tip with blowing up pris, the sticky bombs have no range with the trigger and can be explode pretty much any where so you can be farther off from it before blowing it up and moving all the hunters over to quickly change car or get away safely. Don't know if you know that or not but just saying as a suggestion

i thought of something that could mix it up a bit. let one of the hunters have better weaponry, nothing too crazy of course, but they have to play in first person the whole game, they can also be given a unique vehicle to make them stand out and maybe have more hitting power to make up for their lack of vision.

I still to this day have no idea how the hunters manage to communicate with eachother. They could just as well be 15 Ewoks yelling in a radio at the same time.

You need to take something like a sand king and give it performance parts during the hunt! They'd be so screwed.

Consider doing different challenges while trying to survive the hunt for example designate a certain amount of time spend walking, riding a bicycle, driving a police vehicle etc..
