Main characters who wear shorts are usually the best main character in the Netherworld series. Except if your name is Overlord Zetta, if so you just rock because your start level is 2000. XD

Actually giving it some thought, and kind of discussing it with a friend, I kind of discovered the Nippon Ichi timeline: La Pucelle --- Disgaea 1 ---- Phantom Brave --- Disgaea 2/Makai Kingdom (because Zetta is still a book) --- Soul Nomad
Personally I hope their are new classes. Disgaea 2 mostly improved on the classes Disgaea had. I'm hoping that Disgaea 3 will have some new ones, like from Makai Kingdom. The Teacher that joins the D3 characters looks and acts alot like the Cook class from Makai Kingdom.
It looks like they are bringing the old looks for characters from 2 and some of the original looks from 1. Looking good! I missed the female Samurai in Disgaea 2, and glad to see the male gunners back from 2. If you go back a couple months in comments quite a number comment on Marona standing next to Asagi. Is that supposed to be Pringer X and Prinny Baal next to them?
Almaz,Mao, Raspberyl, Sapphire,Mr. Champloo = BEST dance crew ever. Vic Mignogna as Mao's voice actor is AMAZING :D Disgaea is the most awesome game series aside from KH,and FF.
I'm glad disgaea 2 for psp is finally being released. i wonder if they'd be able to fit 3 on a UMD as well? i don't care if they add any extras like 1 & 2 just as long as they release it.
From the looks of this video, the basic plot of the game, and translations of some of the new game mechanics, it looks like this game will not only beat Disgaea 2, but will even rival if not out-right surpass Disgaea 1 in excellency. Taking the mechanics of 2, the story style of 1, and combining them with pure WIN...
I don't see why people like these games. the developer wants people to spend hundreds of hours leveling up characters so that you can barely squeak by enemies with lower levels but ridiclously high stats. yeah fuck this game.
There no FPS in Disgaea, it's only a type of weapon like all the other. And if you think gun are out of place, those demons actually got TV, videogame and such.

Probably is a really dumb question... but how do you upgrade your spells do they hit multiple squares? All my spells still only hit one square and I'm in chapter 5.
In my opinon, I think Disgaea 1 is the best, Disgaea 3 is a close second and Disgaea 2 is last. Not that I dislike Disgaea 2 at all, I just didnt like it as much as 3.

At 1:52-1:54 Is that Majin (Choas Soldier)? Hopefully that class will be redone and be as useful in Disgaea 1 combined with the status effect of 2x power up in Disgaea 2. I love the other classes I hope the Disgaea team gives them higher % on stats. Majin/Beastmaster for the win!

The character who's walking away is Mao, the main character. He's the honor student of the Maritsu Evil Academy. He wants to defeat the overlord, his dad, to become overlord himself. But to do that, he must become a hero, since "heroes are the ones who defeat demons". This is pretty much what the game is about. Oh god, what a Disgaea nerd I am! xD

yeah i've been noticing something with disgaea 3 and 4. 3 has a lot of elements that disgaea 1 has really joking not serious type of theme it's got a main protagonist who is the son to the dead overlord and disgaea 4 is like disgaea 2 serious all the time trying to kill the overlord who isn't really the one in control or isn't the one who says he is the entire world is corrupt and both have axel...
but the newest GTA may have a new innovation, but its not that really as great as the last ones. Especially when they take out all the stuff that made the previous GTA GREAT! now the only thing that they have running for them is online play. And that is pretty mediocre in itself. the story is good(not great, granted I'm only about 85% done with it) but its not AN EXCELLENT GAME! it should be like 7.x =/ and regarding your idea on Disgaea 3 about waiting. Thats a good idea too.
GTA was good, but not EXCELLENT in my opinion. I know there is many people who like it but this is what I think. usually every grand theft auto game usually gloats about there sandbox system(its nice but gets boring quickly) but accompany this they always include something NEW to blow us out of the water. Every new game that came out had an innovation. Still had the sandbox in a different local but it had innovation.
It makes more sense if you consider it not to be epic, but to be a parody of japanese schools. The song is supposed to be a tad lame and poorly done. I'm almost certain its on purpose. i still hate it. But Im almost sure that was what they were going for.
@AudioCorps If it's anything like Dark Hero Days, it'd still be worth picking up. Thing is, that'd be hard to do, seeing how Disgaea 2 left room for improvement for a port (Making Marjorly/Priere/Zetta playable, etc.), while Disgaea 3 is mostly complete. Though they can make a side story like Axel mode or Rasberyl mode.

Would the cameos be from the previous games, or other games? Because I noticed the penguin from the parodius series, I think that's suppose to be a venus Weed/Alura Une from the Castlevania series in 1:53, and a parody to the power rangers and/or Ginyu Force in 2:13

I saw many cameos...though most of them would be normal character classes :P. but really the only ones I recognized were the prism rangers [lulz], Axel [starry nipples], Asagi [she became bitchy in soul nomad...guess Zetta rubbed of on her] and of course the Disgaea trio
@kittiekrazykk IIRC, NIS is having some financial problems and will be focusing on the PS3. That and Disgaea 4 in the works are factors that will sway them from moving Disgaea 3 to the Wii. All I can see them doing is porting it to the PSP like Disgaea 2.
