Well the android class seems to be back and at one point at least it was basically a replacement for the Majin class but nerfed a bit. I do want to see the actual Majin class comes back though just because the idea of a fire haired super demon is cool.

Why even bother to have other classes when you want the majin that could do exactly everything the other classes does but better.

@@huehue5286 This isn't D1 though. Every character has unique gimmicks. What Majin always exceled at was pure raw strength.

@@huehue5286 Well, you'd have to work to have that ultimate power in the first place, especially in Disgaea 3. Plus 5 (and 6 to an extent) gave the generic classes some of their own unique skills that only they can do along with the general skills everyone can learn. And if Majins were to be added back, who's to say Nippon Ichi wouldn't smack them with something that would make fielding only them a bad idea? Maybe their unique evility would enhance their stats, but severely increase the damage they take, or they'll get a stat increase for every UNIQUE ally class/character on the field so that you can't field 10 Majins and expect them to be as strong as one Majin with 9 other classes at their side. NIS typically has some awesome ideas from my experience, so if/when Majins do make a return as a class, I'm sure they'll find some way to try and balance them. Or maybe they'll make them like in Disgaea 1 and let us run rampant with our own Gods of Destruction, and have an unstoppable army that can crush even the knew Raksha dimension. And honestly I'd be perfectly fine with that too.

@@videogamefan101 basically the majin killed the need for any other character, it's why it was removed in the first place. The celestial host was a much more interesting option, it was good and had balanced stats all around without actually breaking the game.

Sprites take far longer and are much more expensive. 3d can be done for a fraction of the cost and time. That's why they stopped 2d.

Yep. I abandoned disgaea after 5 because theybuse 3d. Part of the charm was lost when they made the switch.

Right? I’ve always started a save file of Disgaea with a Valkyrie named Adria.

I mean just look at the one of the Kunoichi. They all have good expressions too, as far as I can tell.

My hope its that they bring back the original Final Skills of the former protagonists

@@ashuron291 Considering the previous protags are gonna be post-game/DLC, it would be impressive to see Mao's and Valvatorez's in particular in 3D since they transform into larger than normal beasts for their original ultimates.

please explain. I remember 6 being quite fun not to mention very easy to autonomize with the right set up.

@@ogre589 after playing over a hundred hours with 5 you notice the lack of quality during gameplay it's super clunky and lifeless. But big titted cow girl was a great addition. 7 is going to be themed in a school like 3 was. Hope it'll be better than 6 was.

@@ogre589 the numbers went too high for calculations and it causes crashes and frame drops even on PC at end game.

6 was completely awful. That wasn’t just “not optimized”, it was nigh unplayable

Agreed, 6 was a introduction to the new system and assets, 7 they gonna be doing more for sure, then hopefully we get a spin-off DISGAEA like D2 to show off how much they learned over the years as a anniversary game for the 8th release!

Not likely, it still has less content than D5 and much shittier graphics. Like, Cloud in OG FF7 looks better than this..

@Billy Two Cents 7 is confirmed to hold the new record of Classes/Units, and the visuals are a very nice translation of the 2D art, just a bit less dynamic in movement. And you're lying to yourself if you think OG FF7 looks better, that game's visuals have clunky charm but it hasn't aged well.

@Billy Two Cents Plus, D5 had near unprecedented amounts of content anyway, so as long as 7 is on a similar level of quality and has a good amount of content it'll be a great game.

2 years between Disgaea games used to be the norm up until 5. Now that they have created the new 3D baseline with 6 they can start making iterations every 2 years again.

Yea gotten the basics with 6 first that's why it's was so empty. This game theyre adding on to six. I'm 90% sure no classes will be scrapped going into new games bcs they can reuse they're 3d model which take more time making than the old 2d sprites

@@Sephyroth97 I'm not sure how I feel about the whole 3-D look it's going for. Like, I know it needs to evolve after so many years of the same look, but it almost looks a tad cheaper when I look at 6. Then again, I been playing the series since it dropped and they became some of my favorite SRPGs besides fire emblem. Maybe it's just me being an "old head".....I'd ppl are still using that. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@magnumopus8124 it IS cheaper, 3D models like this cost less than sprites, that's part of the point. NIS was (and still partially is) VERY close to bankruptcy; we had reached the point were we didn't even know if they would be able to make another Disgaea after 5 and now they're slowly bouncing back. 7 already looks to be a huge improvement in many key areas of 6, not just on the animation quantity/graphics, so the hope is being restored. Give it a chance and I'm sure the roundness of 3D Prinnies will grow on you :)

@@Sephyroth97 lol tru. i actually forgot hearing about their financial issues, which outs things in better prospective. hope things work out for them, i'd hate to see them fall under like so many do in the gaming industry.

Generic weapon skills were confirmed in the initial trailer, so no worries there.

Oh yay... They brought content from D5 back into this game... But still not all of it... Wow...

They're going back to what they had in 5: Unique skills for each character and Generic weapon skills/magic, instead of what 6 had, where each class essentially used those weapon skills AS their uniques (Warrior used axe skills, Archer used bow skills, etc). Monsters also go back to using monster weapons again but I don't think Magichange is returning.

"improving" would mean going back to D5's style. This looks like FF7 3d models but for the whole game. I think Pokemon Violet had better graphics...

@@ZenKrio I'm talking about animation, not 3d models. Of course I'd rather have sprites, but as long as they keep using 3d they might as well get better at it.

@@MrJuanrock89 I think they should get good at it before making a game with it first personally. The fact that D7 looks like a ps2 game on their second attempt with the engine is detestable, and fans shouldn't simp for them if they're gonna keep intentionally fucking up..

I would say 4 is definitely worth finishing and its my personal favorite and 5 is probably the best gameplay wise even more than 6. I'd say skip 6 to be honest, the game has a sort of unfinished feel to it and I can't explain why but something feels missing.

Disgaea 5 was fun but unbalanced and Disgaea 6 was a complete mess I saw people play it and it looked like it lacked any sense of direction or vision like they only made the game cuz they know its their only franchise in house that sells well.

4 and 5 are probably my favourites, and I think a lot of people state 5 is the best in the series. D2 was great sans the crashing issues. And yeah, it’s either flat or over-the-top. My sister and I enjoy the series, even though sometimes the sexualisation seems a little *too* focussed. But oh well, we can just ignore it for the most part.

I want it to feel like disgaea again.... Idk if i'm in the minority but disgaea 6 felt like disgaea lite: dumbed down to an almost cartoonish degree to try and court new fans. its why i still haven't finished disgaea 6 and much prefer going back to the older ones.

@@TyrannisXR30 I agree, 6 is like a parody of the series, a caricature. I think they hit the sweet spot with 4.

@@steel5897 I agree with 4 being probably the best. I still personally hold 2 as my favorite but 4 is probably the best. 5 is good for people who are new cause some of the features are streamlined and there are some QOL stuff like paying to have newly created charas to be around the same level as your party. But its still got a majority of the original meat.

@@TyrannisXR30 I KNOW! So much got stripped back, and the game practically expected you to use the auto-play feature in order to keep up with the enemies ludicrous level spikes, the whole game felt more like a mobile game. EVEN MORE THAN THEIR ACTUAL MOBILE GAME!

@Casotorium I don't even remember the auto battle function. To put it in perspective. I played and streamed the game on the first 2 days after it came out. Got to chapter four..... then haven't picked it up since. I own all of the disgaea games available on modern consoles and have had an urge to go back to each one (except the first game but I was never able to quite get into that game) at one point or another.... all besides six.

6 was barely passable with all the mechanic that were axed from it compared to previous titles. the most glaring probably being weapon skills imo.

The thief is exist. Is just not include in the trailer (there is the trailer for the thief)

Phantom Brave was such a fun game I loved it's unique character summon and of course abusing it's dungeon for quick lvls and items

Spirit is on the box art. I was pretty excited for that one.

@@sumthinorother9615 yea and I didn't see the psychic in this vid but it was confirmed to be in game so hopefully the left some out 🤞🤞 I know the dlc we'll be previous mains characters like always. I jus want to make the monsters worth using again ( maybe unlimited magichange and more attacks.)

@@jonathangoodwin5609 I'm still getting this game it's a big upgrade from 6 but 5 was the peak of this series. I fine with the 3d they jus haven't caught up yet. Sadly there won't be any crazy moves like top shot, wormhole, and resident dead anymore 😭
