Disgusting OP Civ (Low Elo Legends) 

With a scout no less. Hats off to that scout. Not only did he kill like 4 vils and the enemy scout before he died, but he used his psychic powers to destroy enemy fishing ships from a massive distance. Honestly don't know how the devs haven't nerfed this yet. Haven't been able to have fish vs Hindustani in decades.

I won matches on black forest by using the tiny ponds or fish traps. Fishing gives you a real edge.

1100 elo. I dont get as salty, but am at times tilted against hindustani

That's so funny lmfao. I'm stealing that from you 100% lol. I had a tough time convincing my buddy that you can play the game before imperial age. He would always just FC Boom and if he didn't get to mass his elite unique unit he didn't know what to do. He scout rushed ONE time and won at like 17 minutes and now he gets it lol.

My friend did that too after losing as Teutons, claimed Mongols/Mangudai are invincible and that's why I won. He tried to prove it by setting up an islands deathmatch game with 20 minutes of grace and set up a bunch of indestructible castles on my island and spammed about 500 mangudai. Just with wooden palisades, huscarls and halbs I killed the lot of them and ruined his economy and he rage quit stating he had made his point just as I landed 50 post imp huskarls right next to his undefended town centre. So even cheating and with a 20 minute head start, this dude still lost as post imp Mongols. What a tool. Some people just don't understand tactics and strategy. Which is fine, I just wish they would stop throwing temper tantrums and abuse other peoples way when it becomes apparent.

@@yoyodude-aoe2726 I showed him the Knights Castle Age rush with Franks on Arena too, now he gets it lol. You can break their gate down at about 17 minutes and kill their eco while they're still feudal.

@@WhatIsSanity Folks like that are unbelievably frustrating to me. You don't know what you don't know, which is the Dunning-Kruger effect in a nutshell, but I digress lol. In my experience AoE players who think any civ is OP has also never built an Onager in their life lol. If you play a team game and one civ has good Cavalry and the other good Seige Onagers you're almost unstoppable unless your opponent gets creative, which to your point, that's exactly what you have to do and those that can will win more games more often.

tbh it was a poor civ match up, for red to win he would've needed a perfectly executed gameplan, for blue it was just "git gulams". Maybe higher elo players know how to counter this but I would've thrown the game even before red did.

@@malchir4036 At this ELO, Red did not need a perfectly executed game plan. If anything, Red should have kept it way simpler and just played a good game, instead of worrying about countering the other civ. First of all, did not scout own base very well, hence didn't know how to wall it off properly. Wasted all that time trying to wall while leaving it open. Second of all, the player deleted a wall trying to save a vil, letting in a Scout for free, and then lost several vils and tried to build more unnecessary walls, apparently forgetting about the hole in the wall that let the Scout in the first place. Third, none of the advantages of the Saracens or the map were actually used; I'm talking about deleting own fishing ships, not using market to balance resources and make it to Castle Age quickly, and not using the archers against the house in the front. If Red did these things, Blue would have been defeated easily, as Blue spent a tremendous amount of time and resources trying to drop stone walls and outposts, and built a terrible Castle that should have been denied 10/10 times.

I'm a Gurjara fan, and i agree, Red had that in the bag but made too many tiny mistakes that added up. Happens to the best of us.

@@malchir4036 Your logic is mid-high elo logic. This game was basically over if red just didn't micro the archers near the end and just let them kill the vils making the castle. This was not a civ win. This was a game mechanics win, pure and simple. It was Reds game to lose, and he he did. If this were higher elo, you'd be right. At this elo, not even remotely. We literally SAW Red throwing the win away. He already had a vil lead and if he had wiped out those vils AND denied the castle, there was very little chance of recovery unless Red allowed blue to recover (also a possibility at low elo). The civ is strong, absolutely. Too strong. Its a bad civ matchup for sure, not denying that. But at this elo, it just. Doesn't. Matter.

And you got to plan ahead in this game, nobody is crying because Huskarls kill their archers, if you want to go archers against Hindustanis you need to deny stone and castles, just like you do if you play against Goths, if not choose another strategy, play around it.

@@TBPetitP that's because Huskarls have low melee armour, are less mobile and harder to mass

@@Neon-Lines Harder to mas??? They are cheaper and you can make them on barracks, how is that harder to mass? They are much more verstile than Ghulams, Ghulams die hard to everything that's not an archer, even light cav, Huskarls are cost effective agains a lot of things, like cavalry and a lot of infantry, and shred buildings.

The fact that 800 elo players are able to go 6 on food and then build a lumbercamp does not mean that they "follow near-perfect build orders" or that their first 10 minutes is close to how the pros play. Not even a little lol. You are being waaaaaaay to charitable lol. But like you said the average level has certainly gone up the last few years.

nah, they aren't "near perfect". If you were to compare their build orders with a "pro" build order execution you'd be surprised how much of a difference there is. I do, however, wholeheartedly agree that it is really, really impressive, how far 800 elo players have come. So don't get me wrong, I am not bashing those players or anything. AoE2 is a difficult game and they do a pretty decent job, especially when it comes to build orders, but the skill ceiling in aoe2 is so much higher than oftentimes assumed.

@@ThePunisher014 Nope, they have extremely low piercing armor. Which is why they're so overrated, extremely easy counter to the point where they're almost useless price/performance wise.

@@malchir4036 2 pierce armor is not extremely low, that would be 0 (like camels etc.). they have 6 pierce in imp, coupled with their high hp they are actually decent against many archer units.

@@malchir4036 Any unit in AOE can be easy to counter if you have the right unit, that's the whole point of the game. There is no unit in the game that is good in all situations. Power units like paladins get hard countered by trash halbs etc. Teutonic knights however are not overrated for what they are: the strongest infantry anti-infantry unit. They shred all other infantry to bits, it's not even funny. If you ever play against a Japanese player going Samurai, or a Goth player going Huskarl, etc. you will appreciate their strength. Obviously they don't do well vs archers, but you'd have to be pretty dumb to go infantry versus archers in the first place unless we're talking a couple of very specific high pierce armor units.

I say that a dock is basically your 2nd TC at Dark Age with needing 5-6 villagers for a constant production of fishing ships. Plus fishing traps is a better farm until very late into the game

Too bad you cant do that on african clearing. Tryed that couple of times, but if pond is too small, your ships get idle everytime they gather 15 food so its rather unefficient unless you do harbor defnese :D

Blue also spent a huge amount of time and resources with those great walls of Hindustan vs a civ that basically 5 shots wooden buildings once archer numbers are built up. Red still overall played better than Blue even with those mistakes and could have won with selling some res, buying some food, and making a knight switch. Red was playing a civ that allows you to be real sloppy with eco and still win. Didn’t take advantage.

I love it because the game starts out kinda goofy, Yuna is not a good singer, and the first song from Lenne's sphere was super boppy, and the whole setup is really silly, but then the song starts and the game gets all serious and beautiful on you.

Either we are being smurfed or it just looks easier when you watch someone else do that :D

fish traps are calorically dense superfoods. very nutritious with plenty of omega 3s

Red should never have been in that position if the Saracen bonuses was properly used instead of worrying about Hindustani bonuses. Red collected far more resources, had more vils, and had a market, so could have balanced eco and gone up to Castle much earlier, and that many archers could have broken a house and been Crossbow breaking the TC down. At this ELO, it's not about civs, it's about who executed better.

There’s nothing to do but break a house so they start breaking a house. Like 20 seconds later when we look back at those 6 archers, they’ve broken the house. Imagine what the whole group could have done with those walls 11

It's actually because I make myself write at least a thousand words of work before I allow myself to play games.

Saracens have full upgraded champions, knights (without cavalier tho) but most importantly, they got mamelukes which can wipe imp camel and ghulam at once :D They also have siege onager which crushes infantry, but they are fast tho so maybe not the greatest option.

I bet they can. Not that its best for them but heyare very similiar in alte game only that saracens have way superior siege. Dont hink hindus even got siege engineers.

I feel like 600 ELO would have denied that castle, and so would a 1000 ELO, but 800 is just high enough where you think you always have to control your units rather than just let them fight sometimes.

@@mbvglider Ah yes, the old apm crap... Reminds me of the old days of competitive WC3 and SC2, when a lot of players just on the verge of being pro, have been more concerned with a high apm, than actually playing and controlling their units. A close friend, which was really on his way up the latter, he used two typical time windows in early game to just spam clicking on an empty spot on the map to get high apm, because that was almost as important as just winning... If you won without high apm, it was just luck, if you lost without high apm, your apm wasnt high enough.

Saracens are a great archer civ at this point of the game. They have an attack bonus against walls. If you’re not using that to get an early lead, then you’re not using one of the bonuses of the civ.

Castle age ghulams are not even that good against crossbowmen. They got little hp, just use spread formation and light cav and you can pcik single ghulams.

Ghulams die to anything that isnt archer. They can fight spearmen/eagles/archers, thats it. Otherwise they feel almost useless. Sure they can raid but hussars does it better.

They also serve as an alarm, even if they are quickly destroyed, at least you know it's coming and you can retreat your villagers.

They're 800 ELO pretty much _because_ they're relying on hidden bases, relics, and rushes: all three of those will lose to good scouting, and once you know how to follow up with an attack or boom, they almost certainly won't know how to fight back.

@@bubbasbigblast8563 as I know how they work I also counter them but some of them are good at booming and being able to fight back , I am pretty sure he does records some of those game but it’s not fun to upload but not all 800 elo are like that in a dozen game maybe I will have 1 or 2 guys like red doing mistakes like that or like blue just doing eco and losing the moment he gets attack . I wish I had to fight people like that. They are not some random guys for example there is people who build town center to try to kill mine. When you can stop him that’s mean you won he has no eco he is dead, well those guys failed but they still build their eco right after and were able to fight back and that’s not the skill of people at 800
