Yep, the defendant is legally entitled to representation, and lawyers are oath-bound to defend their client to the best of their ability. The only real way a lawyer can recuse themselves in these circumstances is if they catch their client lying in court, and that would just result in another lawyer being assigned to the case. As someone who works in the jail system, the sad part is she won’t serve even close to 10 years. If they say 10 years that means like 2-5 plus parole. I’ve literally seen people sentenced to 15 years, all but 365 days suspended. So they only served a year and then were let out. The justice system is beyond fucked.

I have no problem with women breast feeding in public- but I DO have a problem with women using breast feeding as an excuse to practice blatant exhibitionism. I've seen this behavior a LOT. Like the woman I saw stand and take off her entire shirt on the bus so that she could "breast feed" Stood there rummaging thru her diaper bag for 5 minutes with her tits out. Then same bs when baby was finished- just standing around with her tits out. After about another 5 minutes of this I finally spoke up and told her I'd be calling the police and filing sexual harassment charges if she didn’t put her damn shirt back on. Whole bus clapped. I really hope that kid grows up with zero memory of any of this, along with next to no knowledge of any of it ever happening. Children under 3 years old have little to no memory of their lives before that age. This does not excuse her disgusting crime, merely stating that most likely and fortunately the child will grow up fine, considering the nature of the abuse here. Until the time he does find out the truth, if ever.
@@R.DeMora Studies have been done on that, it was on negligence for babies but I'd assume it would pass onto abuse aswell. Young babies have a good grasp on whats around them, and can pick up on changes in antmosphere - though they won't remember what happened, they will probably still remember how it felt years and years down the line. Trauma is such a complex thing it wouldn't surprise me if roots and lingers, changing their reaction response to stressers or normal mundane activity. Even if that isn't true. The child will grow and they will learn of what their mother did.
@@esterbun9356 I think what you say has a lot of merit, and since then I've learned about that experiment of babies being deprived of affection. Like you said, even if they don't remember, something will linger on in one way or another. When I was 3 (or less) my mother gave me and my brother an "educational" book which very explicitly portrayed (in ugly water paint drawings) everything about anatomy and reproduction. Whilst my mother's intentions were good, it was very misguided. That book groomed me, coupled with a lack of insight into identifying CSA, it made me a prime and even willing target. Ngl, it wrecked my life. Now I wonder about the things I have no chance of remembering, that books is as far back as I can recall.
