LegalEagle's video • Alex Murdaugh Shouldn'... This is the greatest good sentencing of All Time Merch moistglobal.com/ I stream every day / moistcr1tikal
This is my mom and I. Very similar but she’s super expressive and wears her emotions on her sleeve. I am much less like that and am more monotone like Charlie.
OJ giving reactions to other murder situations makes me feel like I'm in some alternate universe where messed up people are actually the most sane people ever
Hang on to your pops for as long as you can charlie. My dad was a huge conspiracy theorist, REALLY into aliens, lost treasure, Atlantis, all of those things. He passed away from a brain hemmorage a few years ago and I'd give anything just to hear him spout some random information off for me to hear.
@@BritInvLvrcomment sections really give you different perspectives and respects to the way others came up or were raised. But most just come to comments to critique😔
The guy was so cold hearted he literally just calculated that he would be worth more dead and was just like "Well I guess the numbers don't lie" and arranged his own assassination.
@@Darthvader-oc5tp lmfao does that really make sense? kill my family then kill myself so the rest of my family alive can get the money? alex murdaugh did not kill his wife and son.
That's American justice. You could literally kill your wife and son and steeel millions of dollars. And the only thing you get is "2 life sentences." Yeah, like that means anything. That guy should have been eliminated on the electric chair.
Charlie’s dad spawning in and being so emotive and energetic is such a contrast to our boy that just kills me man. It’s so backwards but wholesome idek how to relate besides smiling for them both
Frenchman here : this case reminded me of a wild and heavily publicized french affair about a guy, Jean-Claude Romand, who pretended for more than 20 years to be a top W.H.O. doctor (he flunked uni irl), Ponzi schemed his relatives to keep his lifestyle afloat ( he reportedly did nothing but sit in parking lots in his car all day), and when he felt cornered, brutally bludgeoned his wife to death and shot his kids with a rifle before setting fire to his house. Something about the loss of "top dog" status insecurity in these family annihilator cases.
hearing charlie and his father bond over murder aligations is insanely wholesome. As someone from SC, this family and MANY others are absolutely terrifying..
@stop, I don’t care no it isnt at all. It's not like they are idolising the murderer it's just that the notions of the case are in itself intriguing. Learn to think before repeating this shit everywhere.
It’s crazy to think someday that could happen someone somewhere has the authority to just let all these rapists and killers out into the society it’s a scary thought
@@TheObserver010 there's a man in Russia who kidnapped two underaged girls, kept them for several years, constantly r*ped them, when one of them got pregnant he threw away baby and he got released recently. One of the victims (the one who got pregnant) still isn't married and doesn't want to have kids, she's probably incredibly traumatized, and that POS said that he probably should visit her to make her pregnant again. What a surprise that absolutely evil creature stayed evil even after being released. Anyway, he's again in prison now because he apparently killed his alcoholic buddy in drunken rage.
Charlie is among the most engaging streamers out there and actually sticks in his lane of expertise. If he doesnt know something, he’ll just ask chat and look through for the answer. Thats not something worthy of praise generally but its rare to find large streamers who arent absorbed in their ego.
My dad was in the same frat as Alex Murdaugh and drank with him on many occasions, dad followed the case closely because he said "the guy was literally just the most pompous person in the room. Belittled everyone he considered lesser, extremely judgemental, and was an overall annoying person to be around. His main appeal was he'd bankroll all the weed and alcohol fairly often"
Charlie’s dad sounds enthused! It’s nice to hear excitement in his voice! This Murdock case is crazy! And yes, Legal Eagle is the best source for complex and complicated legal news and can do it in an unbiased manner. I highly recommend his subscription, immensely!
Do you not find it weird that "the best feeling ever" for you is watching someone you've never met (and who doesn't even know you exist) communicate with their father? That's kind of fucking weird dude.
@@cloudshad0ws No it's not weird at all. Charlie and his dad were having a genuine moment. That's not abnormal. What is abnormal is you being negative for actually no reason, attempting to twist the situation into something it's not. Probably due to your own personal problems.
@@noseriouslystoptyping he said "you think IT'S pretty cool right?" and charlie responding saying more interesting than anything and then cut off when his dad affirmed that's what he meant.
The scary thing was I lived about an hour to two hours away from where all this happened. This case was still very shocking, it was unlike any other case I've seen
I love the fact that our drama king was raised by a drama king as well. Didnt know it was a bloodline thing. We are not worthy of charlies dad going "i know!" So wholesome
@@paulogaspar8295 what a horrible way to describe this. they are interested in getting the full story. weirdo man you're a weirdo projecting your deep inner desires
charlie's dad reminds me a lot of my dad before he passed. always down to earth, ok to swear and just have fun in front of their kid, not afraid to say it how it is, chill. miss ya dad
sounds like an awesome dad, really happy you have these memories of him. my personal blessings go out to him, you, and your family ❤ (also nice mini feaster icon)
I'm with you. I miss my dad too, and every time I think of him I wish for a longer life for other kids' parents, to have them hurt less than I've been pained over the losses we can and can't prevent
I actually live in Beaufort and my family knew the family. This case has shaken us quite harshly. He had so many people thinking he was a saint and I hope the rest of this family's wrongdoings come to light. Also I'm glad the corruption in the SC legal system is being shown to the public.
Yeah, we have a history of corrupt and morally bankrupt politicians in this state. When you enter South Carolina from Georgia, you’re literally greeted by the “strom Thurmond Highway” (strom Thurmond was a SC politician who fought to keep segregation his entire career). This place is so backwards I swear.
My mother told me about this situation as well, since she's into watching and learning about highly leveled murder cases. So I was very surprised to get a notification about Charlie making a video about it. Nice video as well
God Charlie. It's so cool you have little interactions like that with your dad on camera. My dad was cool like yours and he passed in 2008 and I would love to have some footage of some.of.our interactions lol. I remember actually watching the OJ trial with him everyday cause I think it happened during summer break
Someone answering a phone call from their parents? I think you need to get off the internet and go outside. Talking to your parents should be normal not "wholesome"
I love Charlie’s deep dives into (at times) arbitrary subjects comes from his DAD doing the same thing. I also love how wholesome they were on the phone with each other
This is horrific case, but seeing Charlie and his dad bond over true crimes is wholesome Reminds me of me and my dad bonding over events in world history Also it’s kinda funny how Charlie has a deeper voice than his own father 🤣
True crime is something that will never fail to pique my interest and it's kinda cool hearing that Charlie's dad was so interested in a case like this Also the fact that Charlie stopped mid stream to talk to his dad is just so wholesome, bro-
Even in Georgia, we watched this everyday. So much going on, between the boat accident, housekeeper death, embezzling his clients, him being shot. Tell your dad, we are waiting for the movie!
I’ve been following this trial all the way through and I am in tears laughing at this at 7:15 am this morning, not laughing about the crime but this post and you going forward you commenting about this. It’s so ridiculous with you going over this you are my favourite investigator into this. Thank you for making my Thursday. The whole trial was such an unreal event.
Also someone from outside the US. At its core its luck, but people tend to avoid upsetting cases, the juicy drama/interesting cases with famous/rich people that accidentally gets leaked are the ones that usually end up famous.
Yeah it is strange. I live in the US speficially in baltimore where people get murdered every day and nobody talks about it. A highschool kid was shot and killed outside of a gas station at 7 in the morning a few days ago and the only reason I found out about it was because I passed that same gas station on my way to get groceries around 2pm and the whole thing was police taped off. I watched the 5 o clock news when I got home and they mentioned it for a solid 25 seconds and then moved on to the next story.
They had lot of publicity when the son killed that girl while drunkdriving the boat. It was a case of affluenza and people believed he would get out of it because his dad was a lawyer and rich. Then this happened.
Ah I wondered why this all sounded so familiar - I believe Netflix dropped a docuseries on this case also... didn't have time to watch it though. Thanks for covering this!
I also heard about this from my dad. He was keeping up on everything with the trial. I ended up watching the Netflix documentary about it.. crazy evil family..
My dad went to high school with Alex and he’s been following this case like crazy. He’s ABSOLUTLY obsessed. It’s so crazy to see a case from my home state become big and well known. An old school photo that they put on the Netflix series covering this actually shows my dad in it. He was so excited to see himself on tv
I grew up in Beaufort, where Mallory Beach died. I didn’t personally know the family, but I know people who knew Paul and they said he was extremely entitled. I just hope that the families affected by this man can finally breathe a sigh of relief and the victims are able to rest in peace.
The body cam footage immediately following the boat crash is available online. Paul was walking around like he could not care less. One of the guys in the boat was even yelling at Paul to stop smiling and stop laughing. He didn’t seem to care at all about loss of life. Pretty disturbing. Seems to run in the family.
This is so wild too ! I live summerville and my dad went to Alex a few times for his PI case but because he was healing slowly the drive was hurting his back with the distance.
My dad and I have a similar relationship! Whenever we call or see each other, we’ll talk about crime documentaries, articles, and unsolved mysteries that we’ve seen since the last time. We’re both fascinated with the stories and trying to figure out what people were thinking when these things happen. It’s an odd way to connect, but it’s special for the both of us
It’s cases like this that really make you think: how many people have gotten away with crimes like this, and will most likely never be caught due to their high status? it’s crazy how long this man was able to sweep things under the rug and have law enforcement turn their heads away simply because he was a well respected man who held power within his community. If you haven’t already, I recommend watching the Netflix documentary on this case. It really highlights these power dynamics and how this man and his family were able to use their power as protection for so long.
A lot of people, but I have to really point it that it's so much easier in a place like he was in. There's a reason they keep pointing out that they are in the low country is because it's a very specific area. Obviously you can tell by the desire of the people there to convict him with the help of he SBI and SLED (outside state help) that a lot of people want change but for the entirety of the history of the area it's been controlled carefully by some families. As you can tell by this family being in charge for generations in this one place.
Well people are okay with that. In humanist utilitarianism, it doesn't matter how much suffering and damage life causes, as long as more people claim they profit from being alive, its victims will pile up generation after generation. Until the earth gets swallowed by Sol, that is, and nothing will be left. Life will be all for nothing, except for the history of injustice and pain it brought to the universe.
@@sinisterwombat3128 people are NOT okay with that. Most people reject naïve utilitarianism precisely because it leads to absurd ethical assessments, like harvesting the organs of a healthy innocent person to save 3 people who need organs (yay! Saved 3 people and only killed 1! Yet that is still unacceptable, most people would agree). Most utilitarians nowadays have to also appeal to some form of deontology, or virtue ethics etc. to correct said problems; hence you have stuff like rules utilitarianism where there are still certain rules that can't be crossed, etc.
I guess we now know where Charlies detective skills come from. Such intellect to solve the DB Cooper case and Jack the Ripper’s identity surely came from his father.
I knew this trial was a thing but never really paid that much attention because normally I'm not into true crime content. But I'm glad I did catch up on this whole story. I bet someone will make a movie based on this some day.
My dad and I started following this entire thing right after the boat crash was reported (we're in Canada). I was so convinced the "attempt" on his life was some vengeance thing. There was a lot of debate on it in my family lol
With how deep Charlie's voice is, I would have expected his dad's voice to book like thunder Edit: Yes, I do think that his voice is deep and I'm sticking to it. *boom
@@gmtoleo for a small frame he's definitely got a deepish voice. in older videos(like a few years ago) it sounded deeper, either he was making it deeper intentionally or had a different mic that made it sound deeper.
I sincerely hope justice is served for Stephen and Mallory as well. This family has left so much destruction in their wake. Putting Alex behind bars was the first step.
@@sethsmith9124 It's crazy that they could even call it that, anyone with a functioning brain could tell it wasn't a hit and run. I'm not an officer, nor a coroner, but I've seen what happens to humans when they're hit and k!lled by vehicles (man vs vehicle) it's a mess, the car is damaged, there's usually broken pieces of car (windshields, lights, sometimes other parts as well, like the bumper, grill, etc) there's usually scuff marks on the ground, including a trail of bl**d depending on how fast the vehicle was travelling and where the individual hit the vehicle and how fast the vehicle stopped, etc (I've seen long trails of bl**d followed by pieces of skin in the gravel, I've also unfortunately seen parts of humans displaced as well, because we do break on impact, say, jawbones with teeth and gums attached, skull fragments with pieces displaced, including a brain matter that's also displaced, sometimes limbs come off, or extremities, (feet still in the shoes but detached from the body, if the shoe is tight enough, or completely removed shoes with the foot moderately to severely damaged, etc) it all depends on how they were hit, the speed, etc. If Stephan was hit hard enough to cause the trauma to his head, he'd have other injuries as well, including marks from the recoiling onto the road and other internal injuries to match, it would be a much more graphic and horrific sight (despite it being horrible enough as is) Also, as others have mentioned, his shoes would have either come off, or limbs likely would have come off as well, no other severe damage to the body makes zero sense. I've seen people who were squished by vehicles, to crossing in a highway, I'm not a professional in any regard, but anyone with eyes and a moderate to low critical thinking skills could tell you, that was not a vehicular caused d**th, not a single fragment of a vehicle was left there, plus, his car being near by is also very telling.
@@alexb7092 which still points that I think the family is fucked up. Regardless of it was intentional or not, they have left a trail of destructions. Because Alex had ties being well known lawyer and the county. I believe the county had helped covered up and sweep things under the rug. But now Alex is behind bars and investigations are being reopened. I hope they reopen the maids unusual death, because I believe something happened.
In the Legal Eagle video they accidentally combined two of the incidents that happened after the murders. The first was with his mothers night nurse, Miss Shelly, who he basically asked to say that he had been at the house for 30-45 minutes instead of 15-20 in exchange for him paying for her wedding or school (she was so freaked out she called her brother who’s a sheriff in another county). The second was Miss Blanca, one of the families housekeepers (the other, Gloria, was the one who died after the “accident”) who helped raise the boys. He asked her to say he was wearing different clothing on the day Maggie and Paul were murdered. Miss Blanca knew that was wrong because she does the laundry. Little things, but just proves how Alex thought he could get away with it by just asking people to lie.
You should drop this on the LegalEagle video if you didn't already -- I don't know if they'd issue a correction video or anything, but they might put the corrections in the description
300blk is also a pretty rare and niche caliber btw, the VAST majority of rifles of that style are chambered in either 5.56 or 7.62. Which makes the fact that they were killed by a 300blk round AND that they owned a rifle chambered in 300blk AND that went missing all the more damning. Its not your run of the mill cop/military rifle. Thats a enthusiast caliber.
My mom did the same thing; watching everything involved in the case for days. I basically learned the entire story just by overhearing her playing videos and shows about it. I'm glad he got charged as guilty
Too bad the case was bunk, and the prosecution proved nothing beyond a reasonable doubt. Scum of the earth or not, our legal system failed with Murdaugh. We don’t prosecute scumbags without actual evidence. The state had none. No actual motive, no timeline of events, no murder weapon, no actual frame of reference for how this really happened. Yes AM was horrible, no doubt, but the legal system was absolutely abused the day the jury was bamboozled into giving a guilty verdict. Idiocy if you believe he did it beyond a reasonable doubt. If you can’t give me coherent facts as to how he did it, you have nothing to stand on.
Not trying to be a pedant here, but you can’t be charged as guilty. You are charged with a crime and you either plead guilty or go to trial and the jury decides. Charges are the crimes the prosecutor/DA has decided the court will pursue to determine the criminals guilty or not guilty status. Just want u to sound more better homie
It seems like everyone’s dad is obsessed with this case. My dad won’t stop talking about it and now Charlie’s dad is too. But genuinely, this is a really devastating case.
I also lost my dad when I was a 10yo so I totally feel you with this omg. To all the folks going "this is normal dad behavior" y'all some of us don't have dads, just let us appreciate the niceties 😭
Also, that poor housekeeper. Killed for nothing. It's actually crazy how this family ran this town and took out anyone they saw as a threat....eventually their own....

I hate that this happened in my state. Plus the fact that my family has people close to them that knew this man (not very well, may have talked with him at gatherings, but never knew him as an acquaintance)
South Carolina, as a former resident, is sometimes a very strange place. Particularly the Lowcountry (southeastern part of the state) where this happened. Understand that three generations of the Murdaugh family held the elected position of Solicitor (equivalent of district attorney) in their five-county judicial district for EIGHTY-SIX CONSECUTIVE YEARS.
Too bad this case didn’t prove he murdered his family beyond a reasonable doubt. In fact, the state’s own expert’s witnesses testified the extreme likelihood of multiple killers in this scenario. More than likely, the actual killers got off Scott-free because the jury, like all the idiots in this comment thread, bought the media narrative. Way to go folks. 🤦♂️
Yet the father is still alive. I just hate hearing stories like this. Where the American justice system allows the murderer to live. That guy should have suffered greatly and lost his life publicly on an electric chair for what he did.
