Thanks for this video, my Siemens dishwasher developed this E15 fault, and of course, mine was the 10% that wasn’t fixed easily. After following your steps, I found it was still leaking, but water was leaking from the main sump seal. I could see it glistening when I shone a light onto it. So for others here - I did the following which cured it for me! 1. Took everything out of the washer, drawers etc, removed the bottom wash arm, the filter plate and mopped up all the water in the sump bowl. 2. Removed the two screws that were revealed by removing the filter plate. Put something down the sump bowl just in case I dropped a screw down it. I then removed the next two screws from the rear plastic cover. 3. I then removed the spray arm assembly, which is just held on by a couple of clips, one in the back in the middle and one set on the top. Removing the arm allows for it to be removed from the machine (and cleaned). 4. I gently pushed down on the sump bowl (grey plastic part), and this allowed it move down about 1cm. 5. I used a credit card with some kitchen towel, wrapped the card in paper towel and used it to get under the gap between the grey plastic and metal upper part. I gently moved this around the edge of the sump and was able to remove quite a bit of gunk. 6. I repeated this about 4 times until I was sure that no more grease and gunk was coming out. Make sure no towel or rubbish gets left under the plate! 7. I put the first two screws I removed back into the place under the filter plate, and righted up about 70% of the way. I then did the two back screws in the same way after reinstalling the spray arm. It just clips back into place. 8. I tightened the screws up clockwise so that they would righted evenly, and was sure to check there were no gaps between the grey plastic of the sump bowl and the metal plates. 9. I then turned on the power, ran the machine on a pre wash and watched underneath for any leaks. There was no sign of water around the main sump! 10. 5 washes later, and still no leaks! I assume that this was a combination of food/grease contamination around the main seal and once removed and reseated, it fixed the problem. I hope it helps anyone who watches this video and it didn’t fix the problem.

Hi Mark, thanks very much for taking the time to post up these instructions for what to do if the bottom of your machine is still leaking! I do get asked this question but as I'm just a DIY'er and my machine only had a dirty seal, I haven't needed to do this, so I couldn't advise people. In future, I will direct them to your comment! AND I have "Pinned" it to the top of the comments section. 😀 Thanks again! Phil

@@NowFixit Phil, thanks, as you I am just a DIY'er too, and after using your video to try and fix my machine, I looked a little deeper and found the instructions for replacing the sump seal (without disassembly of the machine) and it makes reference to removing the four screws and pushing the sump assembly down. So I just thought, got nothing to lose, a clean and reseal might just work - and it did! Hopefully your excellent video and my scribblings will help even more people from just writing off a perfectly serviceable machine and sending into landfill! Cheers, Mark.

@@markwalsham7115 I also had a leak around the sump seal but in my case I could only drop the pump by about 2mm (more at the back) but I did find a cotton bud did a great job of clearing out the gunk. Seems to have worked so far but I suspect it needs a much more thorough clean and/or a new seal at some point. Machine is 5 years old and in daily use.

This was so well explained and demonstrated, thank you! The one additional bit I'd add is that for units with the hidden controls (top of the door) there are 3 screws inside the handle that need to come out for the door panel to pop off. Thanks for a great guide!

Great video! And agree, my Bosch series 800 required removal of those 3 screws - and a side note, my door cover had to be shifted/pulled downward (NOT horizontally straight out), because there are some downward facing metal flanges on the bottom of the control unit at the top, that fit into the top of the cover.

This was an invaluable, step by step guide for sorting an E15 code fault on my Neff dishwasher. My dishwasher is a later (built in model) with a heavy door. I have recently experienced door chord breakages & over time the lower door seal had become dislodged & dirty. Removed seal & cleaned thoroughly, rebuilt which was a bit of a Chinese Puzzle. Turned machine back on & hey presto the fault had cleared & away we go. A real big help, which saved me calling out an Engineer. Thankyou for posting.

Followed all your steps - the biggest problem I had was getting the kick plate off - you really do need those wooden blocks to lift the dishwasher up high enough to get your hands underneath and also as a result of the slight tilt the liquid that was in the base was easier to remove. The only thing I don't know is where the liquid (a light green and feels like its got softener in it) was actually coming from. If anyone can shed any light on any possibilities I would be very grateful. But the best bit was your video sorted the problem and I ran a quick wash with no problems. Thank you so much!

Thank you for the excellent video, it t saved me calling out a Neff Service Technician, so a great result! My dishwasher was built in, so it took me nearly two hours. It took me a while to get the door panel off - in case it helps others, there were 6 long screws along both sides that held the door panel to the machine. Once those are out, the panel dropped down and discovered that there were two latches on the bottom of the panel that slotted into two holes on the front of the dishwasher. There was also some velcro pads on the panel that helped to stick it to the dishwasher door. Anyway once that panel was off, I could get to the bottom plate easily and get to the inside of the machine. I found a pool of disgusting, gloopy yellow liquid around and in the reservoir with the polystyrene disk. It took me a few goes to get the sensor off, it didn't pull off easily, so I had to rock it from side to side for a bit. Used quite a bit of kitchen towel to clean up all the liquid but after reassembly everything is back to normal. My other big tip for the repair is to allow some time for cleaning the machine itself and around the installation. Built in machines look lovely, but it's amazing how much crud gets behind the door panel, and underneath the machine! Thanks again.

This caught me for a sec, too, @@NowFixit. They are the two big plastic clips you can just about see if you pause your speedy reassembly. You take them out of the door and fit them onto the frame on either side near the bottom. Then the door slots over them nicely. There is only one spot they fit where a gap in the clip matches a lug on the frame. Otherwise fabulous help, thanks!

Followed this video exactly apart from couldn’t get either switch or polystyrene float out on my model easily, so simply cleaned out all channels as described and also within door once the front was off. Then tipped machine back 45 degrees and wiped out puddle of remaining water in floor pan with bit of kitchen sponge held in bbq tongs. All reassembled easily and whole job took an hour. Machine running as normal. Worth remembering as an occasional maintence job. Nicely done video and clearly explained, thanks!

Another successful repair here! Siemens IQ300 threw the dreaded E15 error. I followed your guide and it is up and running again! A word of advice for the readers, be quite careful when removing the screws holding the front cover. When putting it back on I noticed that I had stripped the hole for one of the screws. No big deal since it holds up nicely with "only" five screws. I guess I had too much torque on my screwdriver.

My fault ended up being the heat pump connection leaking, but your video was simple to follow, and enabled me to open up the front and get the water out, and clean up all the seals. My model is a series 4 SMS46IW04G, bottom panel was difficult to remove on the RHS, had to loosen the LSH and then get a hand in to prise open the fitting at the top and bottom, also noted that my machine does not have the additional soundproofing, but took less than an hour in total and it's now extra clean around the seals and most importantly, works, saving me from the misery of washing up and/or a £500+ replacement!😎

Thanks for the informative video. I used the video as a guide to repair my Siemens dishwasher after getting E15 error code. i think my leak was caused by the lower edge door seal being squashed in along more than half its length. I managed to push it out from the other side since the door was off using the blunt handle of a knife. One observation - when sponging out the accumalated liquid it is better to lower the dishwasher of the blocks! And when the door came of some of the plastic locating tabs broke. In any case I saved £100+ on an official technician visit!

Excellent, well-presented video, which i wish I'd watched before I started. My E15 fault developed when there was an unrelated water leak close to the back of the dishwasher, which flooded the machine - and the kitchen floor. I found I could mop out the interior without removing the float-switch assembly. The only problem was fitting the door back on, but that was solved by paying close attention to how you took it off (as opposed to how I took it off!). Many thanks.

Our machine was a bit different (the front panel was one single piece and we had to take off the whole thing, including the control panel). Once in there I found the float / switch unit was completely dry. But, there was some weird sticky brown gunk under the float and on the float itself. Once we cleaned that off and put everything back together it seemed to work just fine. It seems weird that it was dry down there but cleaning the float / reservoir made it work just fine. Sorted thanks, the door on mine was attached to a fitted kitchen door panel, the centre screw of the 3 each side of the door is longer and screws into the wooden door panel. Also you had to-remove the top screw each side of the control panel again these were longer and screwed into the wooden panel. This allowed the removal of the fitted wooden panel and then allowed you to lift off the door as per your video.

Thanks man, I felt kind of done after I came home at midnight to see a E15, which I've never seen before. Got it back up working, but I have no idea where the leakage came from. Also I was a little unsure about that soft material that was jumping out when I unscrewed the screws. Did I put them the right way back on? Anyway, your calmness and expertise really gave me the confidence needed. Thanks for not beeing one of those overly engaged RU-vidrs, but collected and helpful. Cheers!

This was exactly the problem, showing E15 and flashing tap symbol, which to me suggested 'feed' or possibly 'waste' but it was water, clean at that, in this 'tray'..Didn't disconnect the micro swith in fear of it breaking, so just used kitchen towel and dabbed it dry..bit more than 10 mins though..Machine is a Neff..been installed for years, about 20, yes 20, and it's the first issue we've ever had, apart from regular cleaning..So thank you....

I actually tilted the machine more than 45 degrees, got all the water out without opening it up, was able to operate the cycles normally, and waited 2-3 days before opening as per your expert instructions. Extremely helpful and clear video; the only minor gripe that I have is that getting the door back was a real beggar of a job -after about half an hour of not getting it back on, I had lunch and it went back on in about 30 seconds. This was probably my fault for over-thinking it. There are tabs on the underside of the control panel and once those are lined up, it's easy.

I thank you very much for this video wich make me spare money and get it done today. I just notice for other women not to try to hire "firmly" on sensor ... I try everything , impossible. The good way to remove it is more rotating from back to front while hiring, than it is possible to remove. Nice clear instruction mate, I had the e15 this weekend and thanks to your video I got it all sorted. However I own the narrower "slim" version of the bosch machine so disconnecting the sensor was a struggle and removing the polystyrene float wasn't possible. I managed to stuff a rag in there just enough to soak up the water and get things moving again.
