Disking With a 1966 3020 John Deere and a John Deere KBA Disk. First tillage of the spring.

Today I have the 3020 John Deere hooked up to a John Deere KBA 8 foot disk doing a little spring tillage in preparation for planting season. The 3020 has been a show tractor for the last 25 years but this year it's going back to work. We will be using it on the JD 7000 corn planter and the JD 8250 bean drill this spring, as well as plenty of hay work all summer. 3020 should be a good tractor to use for the planter and baler. That is the one I would use for sure

This disk has grease boxs instead of bearings and it is worn completely out. You can put all the grease you want in it and it still squeaks! Lol

The 3020 did a great job with that little disk. I tried to cut through a corner of my field and I sank about 4" in the mud. It looked dry on top but swampy underneath, lol. More rain this weekend and more this week.

It cut up good. A little dryer than I expected. We've gotten rain ever since with more coming tomorrow. It's still early but I'm itching to get started! Lol Thanks for watching!!

It felt good to get out there! Been raining ever since, Lol It's a nice old tractor for sure. It hasn't worked in many years so I hope it holds out. It's fun to drive. Takes me back to my childhood and that's why I'm doing what I'm doing. Thanks for always being here!!
