@chriscash1982 thanks, but that's the point yo. when i heard the sample i pictured a story in my head. when the eerie pianos play i thought of a "creep up/plan of attack" situation so i didn't want to put hard hitting drums over it. then when the horns come in you go all out on some beast mode shit. then when it goes back to the piano you take a breather and collect your thoughts then you jump right back in the action. there's so many ways to go with it if you're a writer.
@KMoney4680 stay hungry, keep practicing and experimenting and ALWAYS stay true to yourself. don't let others dictate what direction you're gonna take. everyone's a critic and wants to put in their 2 cents, but at the end of the day if you're proud of it, that's what matters. people been tellin' me i should update my sound for years, but i'm making music that I like so don't let all the bs discourage you. let it fuel you to prove them wrong. stay in your lane and work on "your" sound
Man this is so sick. I started on an mpd, had to sell it cause I'm broke, but I used to bboy for 6 years before I had to stop. Music was my redirection f passion and yet theres so many roadblocks. I still have shit going on for me with music, making progression and trying new shit in my DAW. I want this raw shit, but Im limited to what I have.
@bobbysbeats if you watch my other videos, you'll notice there's no talking at all. every once in a while you gotta break the format. plus you don't know how many requests i get to explain the creation process. but i'm with you tho, i'd rather let the music speak for itself.
@chriscash1982 it's all about breaking the format. every other beat i make got hard drums throughout the track, but this gave me a different vibe and took a more cinematic approach rather than the normal boom bap. the drums are staying. just gotta find the right artist to tell the story.
Also, beat was sick but when you had the eerie piano type samples the drums is kind of slacking. Still hot though especially the horn samples just maybe thinking about reworking those drums
If you or anyone else ever have the time to really critique some of my shit, like honest real helpful stuff I would be more then appreciated. I need to learn so that someday I can teach.
Hey man, just listened to your soundcloud. Can we share Facebooks or something? I wanna give you feedback and i have a collaboration idea. Please reply :)
