For this whole death metal thing demos isn't something just like "We kind of just need to record this to send to label, so we can record album on the more expensive equipment". A lot of times It's perfection on it's own. I like this death metal demo stuff (particultary 90's Swedish oldschool death metal). The black and white art covers, lo-fi sound and catchy tracks.
Totally agree. Many demos I like more than any of the albums, these are raw and catch that special moment in time. A time I loved so much and will take to my grave. 51 now and still find this music awesome. Old school Death Metal for life. The more underground the better.
Dismember, Meciless, Grotesque, Morbid, Treblinka, Carnage... the first wave of swedish death metal was totally insane and full of great bands. I still have this original demo. 🖤

Tõka-tõka death metal is more like At the gates "Blinded by fear". This Dismember demo still works and does not harm. For example Fleshcrawl is pissing on their legacy and now doing only tõka-tõka dm.
@@Rthrasher696 I agree, Everflowing lead is ultra clean & beautiful. Nicke admitted that even Clandestine was a stressed effort to be more "progressive" & ended up sounding weird. LHP is the top dog.
@@Rthrasher696Dismember has a better discography but Entombed has better highs. Plus Carnage > any of dismembers work even tho they’re practically the same band. And Wolverine Blues is a masterpiece actually and better than massive killing capacity. Entombed we’re always the more talented band but I give dismember their dues aswell.
Interesting how the guitars are in B on this demo but they went to C after this. Not typical for a band to tune UP for future releases but I love the diversity.
Thought I couldn,t listen to Death Metal anymore after overeating Uprising over 20 years ago. Clandestine may as well have been Led Zeppelin II, I was so over saturated with it. This brings everything wailing right back to the beginning! New old music making new ears. Avalanche Rock
