Disney After Hours at Magic Kingdom: Is This Disney World Event Worth the Cost? 

I love the story about Dumbo and your grandma. Also love your PSA about being kind to cast members. That has got to be a rough job on Main Street during the fireworks. I have seen people get nasty. I came to this channel for all the amazing Genie+ tips, but I am staying for the content. I love all your videos and I hope to meet you in the parks one day to tell you that in person!

One thing I love about your videos is that even the ones that don't apply to our family (not planning on doing After Hours) are so full of tips and info that it is worth the watch. We leave in two weeks and I think I have watched every video of yours at least twice (some way more than that). I have been to the park at least 10-15 times in my life, but your videos are amazing and full of such helpful content. Looking forward to using all that I have learned from you in a couple of weeks. Thank you for all that you do!

Would I spend $150 bucks for 6 hours at MK, 5 minute waits, unlimited MICKEY bars and popcorn 🍿 🤔.....HECK YEAH I WOULD!! You said you visit the parks 4x a week? I visit once every few years. So, being able to ride everything and experience all that magic, with basically no crowd? All the villains in the lands couldn't hold me back! 🙂 Thanks Rob for another great video! My family and I just finished a week at Disney World. Rob, thanks to your videos. They made a big difference in making our experience less stressful. One tip I would share is that if you have a question and ask a cast member and the answer is “I think …”, definitely ask another cast member. We asked where a popcorn stand was and the answer was “I think it’s up around the corner on the left”. It was actually the opposite direction. At our resort I asked “ what times do the busses come in the morning “. Answer was “I think ….” The answer was wrong but I did as two other cast members ( even the Bell Cap) and got varying answers. I finally found the right person to ask. Cast members try their hardest to make your experience wonderful but they are human.

My 19yo daughter and I will be in town for a few days in March and we have tickets for DAH Monday 3/13. We have been to MK several times and I have once been to a extra magic hours with my son (which as until 3am) and it was just like this! After watching this I know we made the better choice than spend the day with the crowds. Looking so forward to this event.

We were there for this event - and at Hollywood's After Hours earlier in the week. And we've done it before on previous trips. Totally worth it if you can afford it!! A 30+/- minute line for Seven Dwarves, a 20 minute-ish Peter Pan line and 5 or 10 minutes each for Haunted Manion, Pirates, & Jungle Cruise enables you to ride them until you're tired of riding them. That's especially nice for those of us who travel over multiple states once every few years. Riding the iconic rides once in a day just isn't enough. Especially with the Genie+ "one lightning lane per day", getting multiple rides quickly is 100% worth the price of the after hours ticket.

We have now watched this twice…last night my husband said, wanna do a 1 day trip for the after hours party? Oh heck yes! Thank you for doing this video…it helped us say Yes to the after hours! We are staying 1 night and only doing the after hours party…all the way from Michigan! Wahooooo! The emptiness of the park made us think of our trip that was 3 weeks after the reopening of the lockdowns when no one was there and the wait times were….well, there were no wait times! Hope to meet ya someday. ❤️

I learned so much about genie from your videos that I finally feel comfortable for my upcoming trip. And I like your videos so much, I'm watching ones that aren't even applicable to my trip (like this one because I'm not doing After Hours) but I still learned a lot anyway, like where to stand for the fireworks. We had such a terrific time from Chistmas to New Year's Eve at DW. And that's thanks in part to all the knowledge from Rob and Ear Scouts. We hadn't been there since Genie Plus arrived. Thanks for the great video! I cannot wait for my After Hours night in March. I absolutely think it is worth the price tag with those wait times! I am not doing a MK day this next trip, just the After Hours to avoid insane crowds and headaches (long waits, my toddler having tantrums, LL selling out, etc). Thanks for the tips!

Just want to say thank you about your genie slot! We went to the parks during Jan 8 - 11. The genie slot works even better then in your video. I literally applied that trick for more than 10 times and the average slotting time is about 3 mins and got a way better time. Guys, just for your information I think genie slot works extraordinarily good on a crowd level 5-8 days!

I was at WDW with a friend in early December and used your tips around how to maximize genie+ and what rides to hit first and we were able to do *every single ride* in a couple parks, and every ride we wanted to do (some multiple times!) in the other parks. Thanks for the great video, and useful tips Rob. We are planning to check the Contemporary Resort off of our bucket list in Jan. '24. I do hope Disney will continue with the after hours perk. Yes, we will gladly pay the extra 300 bucks to enjoy the MK after hours. Does Disney usually have this event on Wednesdays. I want to make sure I make our reservations on the right day.

Great tips! Especially good info about where to watch the fireworks and castle projections. Looks like a fun night! Probably not worth the money for me… I’d rather spend the same amount on a regular park ticket plus Genie+ and be able to spend more time during the day… but I can see the appeal of an empty park at night! I just got back from a week at Disney and we did this event Monday on our first night there. I was wondering if I would see us but thought it was unlikely…but I did just a few minutes in! We were in line near the end of the pan. As soon as I saw the pink Minnie ears I knew it was us lol… Two people in our group were new to after hours and two of us have done it so much that we got to experience a much emptier park back when it first started so we are a little spoiled. We found the crowd level good but a little disappointing, while the other two loved it. The mom wasn’t a fan of the price, but now that she has done it she really sees the value in it, particularly for those who don’t handle crowds well. We burned some time eating when we first got it, but still managed to do nearly everything we wanted to do. My one complaint was that some of the snack cart locations were hard to find so this video would have been super helpful! We were really thirsty and ended up hunting around a bit to find one in fantasy land.

That certainly looks like it would be a great time. My sons are coming down again this June after being there last August (they were so excited to talk to you in the Guardians queue ) and they had the best time ever by using your tip, tricks and hints. After watching this video they want to sign up for the Epcot after hours in June. Do you know how they will be running the Guardians during after hours? Do you think it will be standby or have another virtual queue? I twould be great if they could ride a couple of times if it were standby. I haven't been to Disney since I was a teenager, and they had fastpasses, so I would definitely pay more to be able to attend after hours and walk onto rides. Our trip isn't until September 2024, so I hope the after-hours is still an option. Or maybe Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party?! 🧡 👻 Love you guys!!

Thank you for sharing all of your wonderful Disney tips! We had an amazing trip over Fall Break, thanks to you...and we loved it so much, that now we are going back for my kids' Spring Break! The one thing I regret not doing was getting my kids' pictures with the Rapunzel lanterns...do they do that during the event? And are there still photographers around the park during the event?

When we went for the Christmas after hours I can say one of the best parts was after my little one rode 7 dwarfs mine train she said let’s ride it again and I looked at the wait time was 20 mins and I was like absolutely. You could never just do that during the day.

This is great! I’m considering doing After Hours in early April for Hollywood Studios… since that week will be super crowded and it’s my kids’ favorite park. However, I’m worried that since there are fewer rides (and RRC will be closed, and TT might still be half closed), waits will still be long. Thoughts?

So was Mine Train actually 25 minutes? I did After Hours at AK once and rode Avatar as a walk-on about 4 times in a row but it said wait was 20/25 minutes the entire time.
