Our itinerary didn't call for us to go to San Juan, Puerto Rico... yet here we are! In today's video I share all about our unexpected stop in Puerto Rico, share our visit to Casa Bacardi and Old San Juan, and the rest of this awesome day on the Disney Fantasy.

My favorite part of the cruise is getting up early to watch the sunrise and pulling into port. My husband and I’s first cruise we made a point to get up early every morning to see the sunrise. Always amazing to see God’s creation.

I continue to be amazed at the details - like who thought to turn doodles into entertainment! And the ability to do that in the time that it takes to eat dinner. Puerto Rico looks beautiful! I didn’t see any updates on social media but hopefully this was the last of your trouble woes and your trip home didn’t have any delays. ❤️

That is awesome that they gave you onboard credit for the change! That's Disney for ya! On our cruise that we did the same week as you, they had to swap two of our ports due to port over crowded issues (who knew), so our Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas days were switched. This resulted in being at Cabo from 6am - 12pm as opposed to the 9-5 we were supposed to be there. It kind of stunk, but we didn't think much of it. I cannot tell you how many people I heard so upset with Princess (the cruise line we were on) over the change, and how they were being short changed time in port, and they expected compensation and blah blah blah. I just wanted to tell these people (aside from, chill out. You are on vacation) - look at your contract. Things change. They owe you nothing. Which just shows me again why I love watching your vlogs. You are just positive and go with the flow....which is refreshing!

Not sure I have the timeline correct. Did you learn about the port change before the cruise so you could plan your excursion when you still had Internet? If you are on a cruise when a port change is made, what is the best way to do research and make new plans?

They sent us an email a few days before the cruise left letting us know. So, hopefully people had time to adjust their plans

I regret not going into San Juan when I cruised there way way back in 1995 maybe? It was a Carnival Cruise and we actually flew in to San Juan and sailed down to S America. Gosh, I can’t wait to cruise again!

Hello guys! I found a cruise vlog I’ve not seen. Oh happy day. I’m loving watching my quarantine vlogs. It’s pizza Friday for us and will sneak in some veggies for the Mr. lol. I’d take the $150 credit and a day in San Juan over Tortola any day. Much prefer San Juan to Tortola. We went to Tortola on our last cruise and wish we had stayed on the ship. Feel bad for everyone who was looking forward to it though. Just another reason to save up for another Disney Cruise!

San Juan is so lovely! We've been there several years ago.. enjoyed it immensely. For sure you are in water!🤣 Very nice to get credits!❤ PS: Gary says he'll go with Bigfoot! He has several shirts. We had shirts made for our first Disney cruise that had Bigfoot on them.

In July 2019 on the fantasy We missed our day in Jamaica because something was wrong with the engine and top speed was like 7-9 knts. It took us an extra day to get to our first port where they worked on it and headed to grand cayman and then straight to cast away. I was sad to miss our zip line we had planned but Disney did take care of us and got us back safely. So I can complain too much but I’ve heard of a few other times the same thing has happened on the Fantasy...maybe it’s time for a dry dock disney🤷🏼‍♀️

Adam, it's okay to say you went and had 2nd Breakfast when Sherri woke up. It's a thing, really, it's okay, you're on holiday! LOL. Thanks for the restaurant recommendation in Old San Juan. I always avoided it. Our favorite was in the Condado are, Ajili Mojili, classic Criollo cuisine, but that has closed down. Yes, I knew it was Davy Jones from PotC. Speaking of Pirates, did you have any of the famous Disney turkey legs at the late night Pirate buffet in Cabanas after the fireworks?

I honestly have never been a fan of the the turkey legs, either in the parks or on the ships. So, I normally avoid them. I think I had them on one of our cruises, but that was it for me.

Our pre cruise hotel, Sheraton Old San Juan, is right where you docked (2:38) ! Were you able to walk or easily get an uber from right there? What is name of restaurant you went to? Is it near the pier? Thanks again!

We were able to get an Uber right in front of the Sheraton super quickly! We took an Uber to Bacardi and it was about $20 each way and probably took 15 - 20 minutes driving. The restaurant was named Restaurante Raices and is an easy walk from the Sheraton :)

LeggLife we absolutely loved Puerto Rico! We rented a house and a car. So easy to drive around and visit lots of beaches. If you ever start or stop a future cruise there I recommend spending a few days. This was our first cruise and not sure we will do another. I loved DCL but the rocking was very hard on me even with taking meds. I couldn’t get used to it.

You pay for three premium meals a day with Disney, yet you pay for more food at restaurant in San Juan? Seems sort of counter productive but to each their own.
